SHOULD I SAY THE AU ARE BUNCH OF IDIOTS. WHEN MUGABE TOOK OVER POWER AND WAS HEAD OF STATE THEY DID NOT TACKLE HIM TO HAND OVER POWER TO CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY. NOW THAT THE MILITARY DID THIS FOR THE INTEREST OF THEIR COUNTRY THEY ARE CRITICISING THEM 1 Like |

shallysgirl: I didn't say otherwise. But they could have done it through the right constitutional means. Not by The military. |

Coup of a frail 90year old man He was already dead. They just removed his body from the presidential chair. Typical US strategy- catch them nearly by old age and then strike!!!! Please the AU should take over and ensure free fair elections old and a good power structure is established. All lives matter. |

laudate: Chiwenga is a friend to Mnagwanga, when he was sacked after months of having problems with Mugabe, he told Chiwenga to hatch their plans. For over two decades, Mugabe have been dining with the guy, impoverishing the country. Now, he wants to come out as the saviour of his people? Please read up the politics of Zimbabwe. Mnagwanga wanted to oust Mugabe in 1980.Mugabe had to bring out of the military and favor him in politics. Why didn't he reject those favours those years? Why is he now greedy? Like I said earlier, I do not care about what happens in Zimbabwe. An action might look right in the interim but the ripple effects might be more dangerous than we are making it to be. |

realhumanity: Thanks for the short biography of Chiwenga. Now, nobody really cares about all that. The main issue is that a man like Mugabe who has ruled for 37 years and turned his country from a promising vibrant nation into a shadow of itself, whose citizens have been impoverished beyond limits, needs to go. If Chiwenga is the instrument that would be used to achieve this task, no problem. The presidency of Zimbabwe is not Mugabe's birthright or inheritance. 1 Like |

laudate: If his mind is clear, let him supervise an electoral process that will push Mugabe out of govt. He shouldn't oust him like that. Those guys are no saints and they should not be allowed to rule. They will even plunge Zimbabwe further into oblivion. Watch how soldiers will retire and get juicy positions. |
Re: Zimbabwe Crises Is Like A Military Coup - AU by laudate: 10:47am On Nov 16, 2017 |
realhumanity: Listen, as long as Mugabe was in power, nobody could have supervised any free and fair election, because Mugabe kept manipulating the process. So he needed to be removed. Now that he is gone, if the Zimbabwean parliament and the people decide to hold an election, no problem. It has a better chance of succeeding. And if Chiwenga gets elected through such a process, you are free to ask his people not to swear him in as president. 1 Like |

laudate: You have to ask yourself, who were used to manipulate the process? The same people. He used the military through the vice to manipulate the military. You are not even talking about the ripple effects of this coup. We should stop applauding coup because those who gained through that process always do not want to relinquish it. Even if vice gets to be president, he will still use the Mugabe style and stay there for years. Ask yourself, why did the military install their man as interim president? I thought if a president leaves, the vice follows. |

realhumanity: Guy, Mugabe used those people but ended up overstepping his boundaries, when he nominated his wife to take over from him. Something catalysed them to then push for a change. So what do you want them to do? Sack the entire military, retire all members of parliament and throw every member of govt into the streets? 1 Like |
