They end up stifling their spouse and pushing her into a shell all in the name of bring conservative ,I know of a close example ,so she should be celebrating both, cos her ex husband allowed himself to be used as an agent

well that doesnt make her ex-husband the bad guy. He could be the conservative type who feels he is doing her good by ensuring she dresses conservatively. People's views on what is indecent dressing differs. Her ex-husband could consider the 2nd picture indecent and hence stiffle her in the marriage.

Marriage wasn't created by your version of god alone. it is a social institution with varying conditions according to the cultures/religion of the people involved.

Like I said if you do it God's way, you will have the right result and if you do it other ways you will also have a result. It doesn't matter whether you are a pastor or not. Marriage doesn't respond to the fact you are a Christian, but to the fact that you follow God's rules.

The problem with myboy and his ilk is that picture jars with what they would like to see become of women after divorce.

It rankles that in reality, some people are happier and it shows. And thus presents evidence that marriage is not the be all, end all. Happiness is wherever, however you find it.

Don't mind them. Some of them have conveniently ignored the fact that some women have died in oppressive marriages, at the hands of their abusive husbands. If that marriage is threatening to your life and well-being, flee!!

Remember the story of that banker who was killed by her husband? Even her in-laws had advised her to end the relationship, and leave the man. She didn't and paid for her decision with her life.

Don't be bitter about your experience. There is no bad marriage, it is the people in it who have issues. If you want to know how marriage should be run, go back to the one who made marriage.
There are principles you must follow like the wife been submissive to the husband and the husband loving the wife as Christ loved the church. What if your partner doesn't know or fear God? You just do what the Bible says and you will surely win him over.

No one is judging anyone, we are just analysing based on picture, no one knows what led to their divorce, but one thing we should all admit is that not all character comes to full display during courtship, I particularly see having a good spouse as a thing of luck and not because we are the best profilers of human behavior and character. Looking closely at the two pictures you will notice she has make up on both of them, so why did his conservative nature not get there?,well, what ever led to their divorce,the bottom line is she looks better, she didn't allow it to scar her for life. I just don't buy the idea of people trying to label her irresponsible cos sentiments aside, she is properly dressed in both pictures it just depends on your perception which is influenced by religion,environment and upbringing
