Hi guys!

I finally got ITA. grin

I was wondering, when filling my application; travel history specifically: I travelled to Ghana by road 4 years ago with my old passport, passed through Benin and Togo boarders to get there and of course my passport was stamped anyhow.

Will I need to include Togo and Benin in countries I have been to? Even though all these stamps are on my old passport and Ghana was the destination?

Do i need to include scanned pages of stamps and travel history on my old passport?

Thanks

You need to include all travel in the last 10 years, so include it and quote reason/purpose as “In-Transit”.

Scan only Data page, markings and visas on your current passport. The VO will request if additional information is required.

Best Wishes.

Good day everyone. Am glad to be here. Pls I need clarifications from the gurus in the house. Am about to start the process. I just finished my MBA with open university. I have a BSc (geology) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. I wish to send my MBA to WES. Do u guys think NOUN certificate will be accepted by WES? Has anyone ever used NOUN? Besides I work in a bank and my noc is 6314. Hope I won't be rejected based on the fact that my first degree does not match my work. Pls I need ur input

Good morning everyone. Please can experienced ICAN people provide advice? A colleague’s wife evaluated her ICAN (2013) with WES and the result is below-

Canadian Equivalency: 2 years professional study in accounting

Remark: The credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian education credential

Does this remark make this evaluation invalid? Has anyone else evaluated with WES but did not have this additional remark? Or has anyone with this additional remark successfully used the ECA and got PPR?

Would appreciate your help. Thank you.
it is not comparable meaning it won't count into points for you as far as education is concerned. Bottomline pretend she does not have the certification. Hope this helps

Hello All, in light of the new policy (see attachment) on withdrawal from Pension funds, hope it will not affect our POF plans?
This specifically for voluntary contribution which is outside the 18% statutory contribution. This circular speaks to those who still make additional contribution to their pension in addition to the statutory requirement provided in the pension Act.
So the 25% contribution is not affected. If you make additional voluntary contribution, you can only access 50% once every 2 years.

Thank u so much , will apply that. Pls as per reading , which section do u advice I tackle first ,to manage my time.

Let me try to be brief...hopefully...

You can start reading from question 1. Not much need jumping sections... Each section requires different skills

First of all, practice with Cambridge Academic Reading (This is usually more difficult than General Reading) to build a thick skin sort of. While doing this, do it in normal exam conditions by setting a timer for 1 hour. This will enable you know your true speed and how to optimize your time;

For answering strategy, you don't always necessarily need to read the passage before answering. Because, you'll still be forced to re-read it while searching for answers (This will waste your time more).

Try this while practicing, look at Question 1, and scan/ skim with good speed through the passage for keywords, vocabulary, grammar (you don't always get word for word) for the answer.

Several times(not always), Question 2 answer is found after Question 1's answer.

The key is practice! practice!! practice!!! to device what works for you... But i'm certain if you build or have good vocab, grammar et al, and develop skim/scan skills, you'll get by fine.

Best of Luck!!

Please when was this evaluation done? Asking because someone on this thread once posted a screen shot of a favourable evaluation by WES for ICAN which is what changed my mindset about whether it leads to a favourable result.

Some school of thought even has it that WES gives favourable assessment to people who assessed ICAN post 2011 under the new syllabus.

Please has any one recently evaluated ICAN? What year did you finish, when was the evaluation done and what was the outcome??

We need to know what is truly obtainable so that people can be rightly guided.

From what your friend has..it can't be regarded As a Canadian certificate and no point can be earned.

Yes. You need to. Not to confuse you, you have to enter those details in your travel history but you don't have to scan you old passport. They only require current "valid" passport.

Thanks, I figured as much that it can’t be used but needed confirmation. To answer your questions, she just did the evaluation, actually just got the result in the last few days I believe and she says her ICAN is 2013.

Whao.. so this gist about ICAN giving a favourable evaluation is probably dependent on the officer in charge.. until we see more people come up with thier evaluation results so we can know if it's a particular year upwards that get the favourable result.

Note the key thing is them:WES/IQAS....etc receiving your transcript in time and your university responding in the nick of time to verification correspondence with streamlined communication channels.l started my ECA within the last quarter of 2016 and got it January this year.l pray that our universities do improve on their processing of Transcript request,sending,verification......... etc.

He said he is using WES he should go with it.

Good people, I am in the process of evaluating my masters but I just got information from the school that my certificate is not yet ready.
As we all know that the process of wes evaluation involves submiting the transcript together with the certificate,
Can I send my statement of result i.e notification of result that was given immediately we finished the programme ?
Will WES evaluate my degree using this notification of result and transcript before I waste alot of money sending same to wes.
Please assist all .

Capital Yes. I even uploaded Statement of Result for my PR application.

You can also eliminate the initial courier cost for your result by faxing the document to WES (Fax: 416-972-9004).

There are a number of free fax service online, but I have used hellofax successfully. See link:
https://www.hellofax.com

Just ensure you add a cover page containing your WES Ref number to the fax.

Best of Luck!

Well, according to goldengem posts, it was evaluated as a 3 year degree. It is believed that this applies to only the new syllabus which was adopted in 2014. Let's wait for more people's report to know where we really belong.

Good mng , please i need help oooo. I have written ielts 3 times . the last time i had 7 in listening and 6 in reading, i have identified my problem in listening to be the multiple question, pls is their any technique i can apply ? will be writing in two weeks time
i av practised over 40 listening but still not getting this part right
pls help.

Dear Ladon7, for reading and listening...the magic is to look out for synonyms in the question, underline it,then go to the passage and pick the answer.
For listening, you will notice the tape tells you to read the question....use that time to read, underline the subject matter in the question, then when the tape starts, you already know what to look out for.
Please go to youtube, search for ielts listening James Castlen, practise a question with him. Also for the reading, search for ielts reading Jay,these two guys greatly assisted me with the multiple choice questions,True or false and long passages.
All the best.

Hello, how about if one actually worked at the same time when running a masters program. E.g May - July, Work & May - July, M.Sc would that mean issues while filling form
Santino1:

Sorry man, the PM thing doesn't work for me.

Well, you're gonna have to check again. Also, you have to check the other parts of your forms. For instance, you can't say you are unemployed Between May to July in personal history whereas other parts of the form e.g education or work history says you were in school/working until the end of May. Just go over all parts of the form (not just personal activities) and ensure there are no discrepancies.

Congratulations @glitteringstar, may ITA and speedy PPR fall on you.

So, I got my ECA report yesterday from WES. I had asked them about a week ago to cancel the evaluation of my Bsc and evaluate only the msc as advised by @elfman, @glitteringstar and others. I sent them a fax and email for the cancellation.

Express entry profile has been created, I am now swimming in the pool, waiting for the next draw and ITA.

Wishing everyone their expected end.

Thanks. May ITA fall on us in the next draw. wink
