Hello All,

I just need your advise on a matter. Ill be going to canada for studies first week in january (my course is for 8 months only). However, i'm thinking is it wise to commence express entry now, i have 1 year 11 months working experience with a small consulting firm, and one of the Big 4.

Should i also go ahead and write IELTS now, to just have it now and probably not need it that to need it and not have it (hope you get my drift).

Lastly, if you were in my shoes, what will you advise.

*i'm still on page 9, have over 400 pages to cover #phew. Hope i also get more insight while reading.

Thanks in advance Bosses

Incase you haven't gotten an answer or still worried. My hubby's First degree is in accounting, and he has MBA and ican as well. But he got nominated as a social worker based on his experience. So you don't have to be bothered.
TEECANN:
Good day my good people...I still need your good natured and frank advice on my dilemma as explained below:

I'm bothered but I know there's wisdom in multitude of counsel...hence I need your opinion from our collective knowledge here. It's a little peculiar since its a Provincial Nomination Program related matter and I won't bother you with this query again after this last post grin grin Just to get some other differing opinions or mode of attacking it! grin

Thank you.

You can choose to write your ielts in Canada. And my advice is don't start EE until you're halfway or almost done with your studies. Reason is you'll get more points/scores for Canadian study. Your application will be processed faster amongst other things. But you're on the right track. And yes, your 1 year experience is good when you are ready to use it.

Please when was this evaluation done? Asking because someone on this thread once posted a screen shot of a favourable evaluation by WES for ICAN which is what changed my mindset about whether it leads to a favourable result.

Some school of thought even has it that WES gives favourable assessment to people who assessed ICAN post 2011 under the new syllabus.

Please has any one recently evaluated ICAN? What year did you finish, when was the evaluation done and what was the outcome??

We need to know what is truly obtainable so that people can be rightly guided.

From what your friend has..it can't be regarded As a Canadian certificate and no point can be earned.

This is curious. I'd have thought they'd evaluate that positively. At the same time, we've got only one case of positive evaluation for ICAN and several cases of negative evaluation, if I'm correct. I find it difficult to believe it's down to the officer assessing the qualification, as WES should have a standard they abide by.
Surely we need more cases before saying anything further on this.

Hi guys!

I finally got ITA. grin

I was wondering, when filling my application; travel history specifically: I travelled to Ghana by road 4 years ago with my old passport, passed through Benin and Togo boarders to get there and of course my passport was stamped anyhow.

Will I need to include Togo and Benin in countries I have been to? Even though all these stamps are on my old passport and Ghana was the destination?

Do i need to include scanned pages of stamps and travel history on my old passport?

Thanks
Include only travel history on and scans of your current passport. If they need more info, they'll get back to you. In that case you can then scan older passports to them.

In entering your travel history, pay attention to how your passport was stamped. That is, if your passport was stamped at the Togo border during entry and exit, then you've traveled to Togo, even if was in just one day. As the scan will show this, it's better you enter it. If your passport wasn't stamped at all in Togo, then you don't have to enter it into your travel history.

Direct scanning may affect the baby. But the clinic will usually provide a lead apron for protection. It must be said however that this doesn't give a 100% protection to the baby, maybe only 95-98%. But it's your call whether you want to take the risk.

If your work history gives you enough point to get you above the bar, then you don't need to include the 2 other places where you've worked. This means, your work history gives you 3 years experience and is enough to get you above 67/100 (for FSW). You can put the rest under personal history post-ITA.

Good mng , please i need help oooo. I have written ielts 3 times . the last time i had 7 in listening and 6 in reading, i have identified my problem in listening to be the multiple question, pls is their any technique i can apply ? will be writing in two weeks time
i av practised over 40 listening but still not getting this part right
pls help.

In my opinion different techniques work differently for people.. but i would advice skimming through the questions of each section at the pause. Then Underlining key works so as the passage is playing the underlined parts of the questions and answers are standing out and u dont av to read all options to knw the answer. Then practise with you tube listenin ... its difficulty level is always higher than normal ielts ....if u can pass the different practice tests daily.. then u r good to go

So much to catch up on here. Congratulations to all ITA and PPR recipients. Special mention @Cochtrane, much respect to you for the library of topics and links to FAQs you created. While some of us were thinking you were busy acting it out. Congrats and all the best in Canada. Tell them we dey follow you for back smiley

To all ITA recipients, don't be distracted by the London VO talks and processing times. Do your due diligence, present a tidy application and explain with all courtesy where you fall short. Should you fall in London VO, be assured it is not a death sentence on your Canadian dreams. You may be delayed but you will not be denied as long as you merit approval.

God bless.
