Why Rotimi Ameachi May Succeed PMB In 2023 by EazyMoh(m): 5:08pm On Nov 19, 2017
Hello Everyone,
With the rejuvenation of PMB's health condition, and his renewed interest in governance, it is strongly clear he could contest re-election in 2019. Of course he stands to win barring any major change, but that's topic for another day.
What's interesting to me now is who gets to succeed PMB in 2023? For obvious reasons (s)he has to come from the southern part of the country. OBJ's 8years and GEJ's 6years are enough to qualify SE to produce the next candidate, but unfortunately the candidate strong and popular enough in APC to achieve that. They couldn't even produce a Senate President because they don't even have a senator.
The most popular APC chieftain is Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha, unfortunately for him as well he hasn't done anything remarkable in Imo state to show the rest of the country. Unless by then may be Nigerians fancy statues of heads of states as dividends of democracy.
As a compromise, the ticket nay be zoned to the SS, after all GEJ only served for 6years. Another point is that the region has been supporting the rest of the country with its petrodollars for decades.
Rotimi Ameachi being an Ekwerre (basically an Igbo man) from Rivers State will fulfill most of these conditions. Noteworthy is his impressive performance as a governor of Rivers State and his national appeal.
His candidature will also give a blow to the cry of marginalization and secession.
In Summary
1. He's from SS
2. He's Igbo
3. He was a performing governor

What do you think about my projection? do you think anybody from the south has better odds against him?
Thank you for reading.

That's if Prof. Osinbajo decides not to contest. If he contests, even hausas will gladly vote for him.

It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the country especially SS and SE if someone from SW succeeds PMB in 2023.

Look at a so called NigerDeltan calling Ameachi presidency trash.
Tell me who stands any chance against him today from the SS or even SE. Unless you are not ready to have the presidency, then the VP PYO can have it as people are clamouring even on this thread.

the SE & SS should convince Nigerians with a VP performance in 2023 before thinking of President 8 years after. for now, SW should rule in 2023.

If I may ask what scores can you give both Rochas and Ameachi in terms of performance?
Also Rochas has been owing workers salary. To me there's no excuse for that.

it is very difficult to compare both because rivers is way richer. however, both of them have similar style though rochas is way flamboyant while amaechi prefere to be much more reserved. checkout both performance in education, health, infrastructure, etc....they often set a target and work to beat it. do you know that IMO state is the only state that tertiary education is free. the States government pay as much as N100,000 per students per year to implement the free education scheme. forget the exaggeration of rochas owing salaries it is just been blown out of proportion

That's good to hear. But Kwankwaso also implemented the free education policy, and female students in Jigawa never pay any tuition fee either.
Well may be Rochas and Ameachi shall slug it out at the primaries. Either of the two will definitely defeat any PDP candidate.

The best way to gauge performance is from being a governor, because that's when you excercise similar executive power. A VP's performance is directly dependent on the president.
What did Atiku do?

The man whom aso rock cap feats the most from the east after PMB is ....
Sen Ken Nnamani
The former Senate president who saw to the thwarting of OBJ life presidential ambition. He is an apc chieftain and chairman, presidential committee on constitution reform.

Hnnm well I doubt Sen Nnamani can defeat even Rochas in APC primary election.

between Atiku and Osinbajo as your VP. who would you want to succeed you as President that will care about the masses? I am talking about trust. who in the SS and SE can you trust with presidency that Nigerians will not regret?
