Yea, Egypt outplay every military department of Ethiopia, but they can't come here in Ethiopia and beat us. They will obviously have the capability to destroy our Renaissance Dam and other infrastructures using their superior air capabilities, but they still can't say that they will beat us on land toe to toe. The landscape of northern Ethiopia is home to one of the most rugged mountains in the world, so this will make it very difficult for them.

If Egypt objective is only to destroy the Dam and move on, then they will achieve this but they will pay for it hugely afterwards. We have a military base in Sudan, so we would retaliate by destroying their Dam also. They will not emerge victorious. Either there is pace or die together.
but do u think dey will match u toe to toe asin play to ur strengths dey definetly wont pls look for other non violent means of resolution biko and dont get beaten for nothing

They are the ones who want to resolve this by war not us. We have told them many times that the Dam won't have a negative effect on them. There are lots of deep research conducted which prove it. But Egypt don't want to see a powerful Ethiopia, so they are using the Dam as a pretext to wage war to make us poor. The also need to understand that the Renaissance Dam is a matter of prosperity or poorness for us. We clearly don't want the latter.

They outplay every military department but can't beat Ethiopia. Wake up from your dreams. With a practically non existent air defense system and an air force that can't be compared. Your economy is terrible and nobody would side with Ethiopia against Egypt.

you can bet your arse there are a bazillion bugs in it.

The Chinese bought a standard Boeing for the US for use as a VIP transport - when it got to China they stripped it down to the aeroframe and found a couple dozen listening devices in it.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/1382116/China-finds-spy-bugs-in-Jiangs-Boeing-jet.html

the bugs in the chinese jet was planted by a chinese rival of jiang

how do u think the chinese intel found out about the bugs in the first place ?

becz they were following the SOP with regard to sanitizing a newly delivered sensitive piece of equipment from abroad. everything is checked and double checked again before operationalization.

a foreign OEM will hesitate to bug a presidential jet becz
1. bad for business if found out
2. even if bugged due to pressure , the recipient nation will definitely try to sweep for it as part of standard SOP, and even if they r still paranoid they can/will install a bubble inside via local or external help
a bubble chamber generates white noise and utilizes other gimmicks to prevent active/passive snooping. all sensitive conversations and comms will be held there.
3.high probability of disinformation being fed, if the operator is suspicious of being bugged and cant locate it , he will try to swing his disadvantage to advantage simply by feeding misinformation together with credible info . disinformation inserted between legit info causes more harm to adversaries.

I'll just say this: Ethiopia has been very smart in getting her neighbours to share some of the benefits of the Nile dams. Egypt's military, for all its assets, has a major weakness: short logs tail to conduct expeditionary warfare.
So no, for all their peacocking and warnings to Addis, they're in no position to follow through on their threats. And we've seen this before.
so you want to say egypt air force lacks the capability to conduct air strikes against this dam !?

Technically they have the capacity to destroy the dam but with a construction cost of $6.4 billion of which the Ethiopian government only provided counterpart funding for....
basically I’m saying foreign investors won’t sit by while Egypt turns their billion dollar investment into rubble.

A valid point. But I am curious, what can "foreign investors" do to stop Egypt as a country, they might refuse to invest in Egypt for a example, but there are other investors who will be willing.

you want to go against Egypt? That's very brave of you. You guys should reach an agreement that would favor all parties cus after the dead bodies start coming in, you guys we still go to the table so why not dialogue now. In Nigeria we supply electricity to neighbors based on an agreement reached that settled a similar dispute.

No No No. Egypt- Ethiopia thing is a different story. They have tried to occupy us many years ago fearing that Ethiopia might construct a dam on Nile. We fightef and won them twice. Egyptians feel they own Nile. They have been burning Ethiopian historical books too.

in case of war it would be only air strikes wink and ethiopian army should modernize its air defense systems because if egypt send a formation of Rafale with awacs support , they will strike the renaissance Dam easly with the Storm Shadow-SCALP EG (300 km range for the egyptian export version ) , old ethiopian S 125 missile can do nothing .

Last last year, I visited Ethiopian air force and it surprised me that they showed me a jet ready for Egypt. (Incase war starts). I felt like I heard him wrong, but yeah.

actually this project was initially proposed back in the 50's but due to Egypt pressure to the west,Ethiopia were unable to find funds from abroad for this project.to this day most of the funding is being sourced from within Ethiopia.you need to watch the documentary made by aljazeera about this dam.kenyan farmers living along lake victoria couldn't even irrigate using water from lake victoria. because of an agreement signed by the British and king of Egypt in 1929,an agreement which countries which share the nile and lake victoria withdrew from the agreement just recently

Correct. But we are not talking of "resolve" we are talking of military engagement. Every conflict goes: "tensions, escalation, military engagement, hundreds or thousands killed, peace talks, conflict resolved". Peace talks always resolve conflicts but that has not stopped us humans from fighting before.

You are planning and the other party is planning too. The best of the planners will only be known after the war. Believe me, Ethiopia have very little chances in modern warfare against Egypt. The only part I have problem with is your conclusion that Ethiopia will defeat Egypt. You can only know how war will start but you can't tell how it will end.

How sure are you what the Ethiopian military have?
What if the ET govt is making drama? Because our govt have asked Egypt what they want and that they will start the war if needed. . . .No one will say such a statement not making sure on what they have.

And secondly, it's not always about the jet and stuffs. You must have the experience and techniques on how to use it. Every war didn't turn out expected. . .Ethiopia have that. Do you know that the American govt asked the ET govt on how we manage our military? And our govt refused to answer cuz we have our systems. Even av heard that we train foreign militaries.

Sounds funny. I was going to type but immediately I saw the female icon in a military thread. I knew it's probably going to be a patriotic comment instead of something realistic.

Like the article which talks about the Durban Metro buying Casspirs but the posted pictures of Namibian Wer'wolf MRAPS with their colour patterns.

The general media is clueless about defence issues and proceed in feeding wrong information to the clueless public.
