Mauritanian landing ship construction gets underway

A ceremony was held in China on 9 November to mark the start of construction for a 1,750 tonne landing ship for Mauritania, according to Chinese media reports that cited the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group.
A poster showing the landing ship was displayed during the ceremony. (Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group)
An artist’s impression of the ship displayed during the ceremony showed a landing ship with a helicopter deck at the rear, a 76 mm main gun, and carrying two landing craft on davits.
It was reported in March 2016 that Wuchang Shipbuilding had signed a deal with Poly Technologies to build a landing ship for Mauritania, which already operates three Chinese-made offshore patrol vessels

its could be an improved version of 073A landing ship.

Jealousy. They have been told million times that it's not going to affect any one. Research has been made, they have people here who check everything. Every important thing has been made. Did you know that Egypt is also the reason for Eritrea separation? Their sin on Ethiopia makes a book.

Okay okay okay, let's just say we lost. . .Let's just say

But even in the Bible, there is a place where it says Egypt will turn fully desert if Egypt declare war against Ethiopia

read it

The entire sabre-rattling by the Egyptian President is for domestic consumption.

Ethiopia can fully defend itself. On paper, the Egyptian military is more "scarier" than even Israel's but its capabilities are very weak and is mainly concentrated in the northern part of the country (where they still dream of avenging their humiliating defeats).

Almost all of their F-16s are downgraded models assembled in Turkey and all fully compromised so that none are threat to Israel. In addition to that, according to various US reports, their pilots fly 50 hours per year. With such quality pilots, they are not even ready to defend their territory let alone undertake a long range offensive mission. As for the new jets they are buying, Rafale and MIG-29M, it will be years before they 'master' them. Event then, both are short legged and the suppliers are not known to share technical expertise, particularly the Russians.

So, imagine such pilots and their air support assets (AWACS) crossing another country without permission, flying over a more challenging geography (not a desert flying) and returning back to Egypt. It is simply IMPOSSIBLE. The only risk is if Sudan allows Egypt to use its airbases to attack the dam which is not happening since Sudan is a huge beneficiary of the dam.

As for ours, we have built a small but very effective force. Yes, we have fewer pilots but then again, we can afford to provide them more flying hours to be ready. Yes, we have much fewer planes but then again, we have FULL OVERHAUL capability to maintain all our air assets. Ethiopia was the second country to have such capability for the Su-27 after China outside Russia and the former CIS. As for our air defense, we have taken a smarter approach to upgrade our existing assets- such as replacing primary surveillance radars with 36D6 (same as the S-300PMU), upgraded fire control systems, command and control systems, increase mobility while acquiring newer systems for low altitude defense.

No need to worry.

I may sound crazy. But I have read many historical books. Egypt is the worst enemy of Ethiopia. No one needs war but it may be our last choice. Their haterd is increasing everytime and they keep asking for meetings not for change but influence. If Egypt and Ethiopia united long ago. Africa could have been more powerful. Even if we become kind, they have a beef because of religion difference too. Which is not so good. People don't have to be same nations to unite, they turned it to competition then they planned many bad moves on us. They just want to have the biggest power in Africa. . . .they forgot what has to happen happens with God will. But this is not the way to gain power

I'm just curious ,if eventually war breaks out between both countries over the river Nile, will Nigeria allow either ethopoa or Egypt to use the west Africa airspace ? As it's most likely Ethiopia needs Niger air base to strike continuously ,while Egypt needs Sudan's air base .

Since Sudan and Niger are both members of ECOWAS ,will Nigeria allow the ECOWAS airspace to be used?? Or rather lemme say will ECOWAS allow their airspace to be used??

Niger you should take a look to the map !

in case of air strike egyptian can use the red sea air space and cross from Eritrea ( distance 1500 km) , they can use sudanese air space and also saudi air base ally ( 1000 km distance ) ,

Using the red sea and Saudi Arabia air space will spew more cost for Egypt ,I'm sure they'll spend less if they use Sudan's base .

And to me I think Niger should be the best base Ethiopia would need ,Niger -Libya -Egypt

This aside my question was ,will Nigeria allow the west Africa airspace to be used?? No one has answered me yet

west africa in dark green , really not on the way between the two countries

sudan will hardely let them use its air space but will accept if saudi ask them , but for me in case of air strike it will be by red sea with maybe saudi tankers refueling ( they are in the same coalition and do airstrikes in yemen )
