Please I need an advice from someone in the core banking operations/services profession. What NOC classification best describes the regular banking activities such as account opening, cash management , funds transfer/money transfer , atm management, treasury/fixed deposits? I have found NOC1434 but I strongly feel there might be a better job classification........ Please help ! |

ajiifixing: I think it is time to publicize this issue on social media, British Council's inefficiency is astronomical. Especially the Lagos office, they don't take calls, they don't reply emails or even acknowledge them. I am currently experiencing the same issue, I have plans for them. I would escalate this to the highest heaven. They are so nonchalant, how would they be having the same issues for years. what happened to process improvement. Well that's what you get when you put clueless people in charge. Its a matter of time, I plan on naming names and calling out their staff. Their top management should know the hands they need to get rid of 8 Likes |

Hello House, When applying do you count your part-time experience as a student or just the experience after you obtained your work permit. For example, how many years of Canadian experience do you have, do you select 3 years if you have been working for 2 years with the company as a part-time student but one year under your work permit. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 Like 1 Share |

Teds: Hello Teds, Are you applying under the Canadian Experience Class? If yes, the answer to your question is No. To be considered under the Canadian Experience Class, you cannot count work experience you gained while enrolled as a full-time student. Your work experience must have been gained while on a valid work permit, such as the Post-Graduation Work Permit (in your case, the one year work experience gained while on a work permit). However, the only exception to this is NOC 4012. You may be able to count experience as a teaching, research or lab assistant at a post-secondary educational institution toward the work experience requirement, You can read this post to know more. You can use any other paid work experience under NOC A,B or O gained within the last 10 years OUTSIDE of Canada to gain points for foreign work experience. You will have to get a valid reference letter for it though. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29 1 Like |

I am having a slightly different issue, WES received both my certificate and Transcript in June 2017 ,WES sent a verification request to my School which my school has responded , the first was through Email which WES acknowledged verification replied , it was shown on my WES account "WE received document from your institution" but after 24hrs my account status is now showing "We are waiting for your institution(s) to verify your documents". So I went back to my school Federal University of Technology, Akure to resend through courier which they did after I paid 7500 for the courier, the verification reply got to WES last week Thursday, WES acknowledged the Verification reply from my school on Friday which showed on my status again that we received document from your institution but to my surprise again , on Saturday when I checked my WES account my status was changed back to "We are waiting for your institution(s) to verify your documents". It is really frustrating, please do anyone knows the reason why ? I have sent a mail to WES several times even when the first incident happned all they said was my school should resend which they did. I need ur help on this please , I have been on WES issue for over 6 months , pls I need ur candid advice |

cochtrane:Hi Bro, Thank you for this very informative post. Posts as this should be resident on page 0, it’s lots easier referencing page 0, and going there to read up on things then when one has to sieve through hundreds of pages. Is it possible we replicate this on page 0 please? Newbies skimming through the thread might miss this piece skipping some pages while reading through. Cc: GlitteringStar 2 Likes |

Hello LordNath and any silent London gang member invited for interview, someone posted this on London Visa Forum. He was invited for an interview in Accra though his visa office was London and it was job related. Hope this helps in your preparation, all the best. The interview was very thorough and lasted for 30mins. Below are some of the questions asked - Why do you want to move to Canada? - Where in Canada do I want to settle and why - Have you used someone else’s help in preparing your application? - What do you see as the biggest challenge of immigrating to Canada? - Tell me about your previous jobs - Why did you come back from the US to Nigeria to take this job with less pay and different career path. - How did you find this job and what previous experience did you have that made you a suitable candidate - What is your current job description? - What are the qualifications required for your current job - can you explain a typical day in your workplace? - Have you ever been refused a visa before and what was the reason? - Are you willing to do any other job or only your profession in Canada? - Examples of some work / projects you have done - Why didn't you submit payslips during the initial application and why is there no salary deposit in your bank account Ans: I didn't think payslip was required however, I came to the interview with 12months payslip. Also I used my savings account for POF, however I also attended the interview with my 12month current account statement which had all my salary deposit. - How many people working in our company? - How many are working under me and to whom I report? - How did you manage to get off work today in short notice? - Provide scenarios and details about my current job - Projects that I am currently working on - What is the company size… - Have you searched for your job? What’s the potential market etc? - Any friends / relatives in Canada and what they do? - Why moving to Canada when you are well established here? Finally, she went through all the duties mentioned in my work reference letter and asked me to explain it and give examples. At the end she said congratulation I am satisfied you meet the requirement and asked me to come back at 2pm to collect the Visa. I was also asked to come with two passport photo and since I didn't have one, they directed me to Flash Photos, near the Danquah Circle, Osu, Ghana 28 Likes 14 Shares |

duuduu:This complain is becoming alarming. Try this; type out your complain stating all you've said, quote the tracking number for the verification, then fax the letter to WES. Remember to quote your reference number and maybe name. Your letter shouldn't be too worded, be precise and hit your message head on. 1 Like |

sweetrie:Hi, 1.) I believe everything in that form is already in your eApr, I'd say you don't need it post-ITA. However, your PPR mail states something like you should fill the form if there has been a change in your family composition, or not filling might delay issuance of your Visa. Some have filled (even when family composition remained same) and got their CoPR/Visa, while others didn't fill and still got their CoPR/Visa within record time. Choice is yours to fill or not post PPR. But I don't think you need that form post-ITA. 2.) To play safe, six months. Also remember to do a cover letter stating you're combining funds in different accounts of yours and your accompanying spouse, you can also do a summary of funds per source.
