I self sponsored my university education from year 2 when I lost my dad. I used tutorials and home lessons / part time teaching in a secondary school to see myself through.

This is really sad. What university did you graduate from? If it's a reputable university you should get auto employment. There are very few first class maths graduates in this country when we find one we should do everything possible to retain them. Secondly, rather than stay idle at the moment, you can get a voluntary job to teach in most of this private tertiary institutions or high profile secondary schools. I swear, you'll get called up. Believe in yourself man. You can even organise evening coaches for jambites. It's that easy!!! You have to sell yourself bro.

What value will you be bringing? What work experience do you have? Where have you applied to? What real-life projects have you done, whether in school or not? No one is going to beg you to work for them unless they see what you can produce. Congrats on your first-class, but what have you done with it.

Have you considered taking actuarial exams, it is math-intensive but more business applications.

Congratulations on your height as a First Class graduate. I respect you a lot for this feat. Jobs are very very difficult to get. Especially if you are above 25. However your First Class will give you an advantage in lecturing career. Hustle the more, set up coaching centre, volunteer to teach in Secondary School, raise some money and purchase Masters form. Commence your Masters and apply for graduate assistanceship position in universities. Being a Masters student will give you much advantage for Graduate Assistance role. Don't do PDE: 1. It would cost you up to N200,000 (form, fees, books, transport etc). Money that can handle a semester of your M.Sc. 2. You can't use PDE to do M.Ed. 3. With First Class you should look at a career in lecturing not secondary school teaching. Kids in secondary school care little about high scholarly wit. You are lucky to have graduated with First Class. It will soon pay off. Have you applied for Graduate Assistance position in the Nigerian Maritime University, Warri.

Bro, I agree with you oo. First off, this country is so messed up. Everything na who know man or who you know. However, lik you rightly said, when you get the job you have everything to prove because you are on your own at that stage.

This shouldn't be so, where going to school do not guarantee anything. May God help us.

Watch out for KPMG grad trainee. There are many others. This isn't the time to mope, you'll get somewhere good I can assure you. Just dedicate your time to practising aptitude test questions of targeted multinationals. Acquaint yourself well with their interview procedure. You'll get a job. Good luck.
