If Afonjas Tell You Why Not Make Anambra Like Lagos? Tell Them This...what is stopping you from making Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti like Lagos? Why are you people leaving your mud gutter houses in these states for Lagos? If you claimed you developed Lagos, then develop Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Oyo and Ekiti like Lagos nah. Ironically, you don't see mud houses in Lagos but mud houses are scattered all over Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun and Ekiti, an indication that Lagos is not an Afonja destination and has never been. Had it been, there would be mud houses. And we(see below) that developed Lagos will never ever leave Lagos to afonjas...before you know it, they will turn it to mud village.

Lagos is what it's today because of it's former capital status and federal presence, Niger Delta oil money, monopoly of ports and airport, Nigerians' contribution and investments, and multinational presence. Lagos is owned by all Nigerians, just as Abuja is owned by all Nigerians...YOU WILL NEVER HEAR HAUSA-FULANI OR ORIGINAL OWNERS GWARI SAY "ABUJA BELONG TO US DESPITE EL RUFAI PROVIDING DATA AS MINISTER THAT IGBOS OWN OVER 70% OF LAND AND PROPERTIES IN ABUJA." Then why is Afonja case different?

The rate at which these wanderers from the East run enter Yorubaland ehnnn, I think they need to introduce teaching Yoruba as a second language in school's all over southeast cos an average eastern born man will spend nothing less than 5 years in a typical Yoruba city or town if it all he's gonna head back home which is highly unlikely. An average Yoruba town do have nothing less than a thousand Igbos. Ogbomoso alone has more Igbos than the whole population of Yorubas in Imo state.

Op, You people must be under some sort of curse. Are you the only non-Yorubas in Lagos, that your obsession with coveting that space is this frantic??

Even without oil money or onitsha and Aba style markets, or ever being FCT, Ogun is already attracting no less than 75% of Nigeria's FDI, pulls in more IGR than all your SE states combined, and is now the defacto industrial hub of the entire country.

Without 'oil money' ibadan is still reckoned to be one of Africa's fastest growing cities with one of the highest purchasing power in the country, competing with the likes of Lagos, PH, and Abuja, while all your SE cities and states were missing in action. Are you seeing a pattern?

Why isn't any of your SE states making these sort of impacts upon all the noises you lots make about 'developing everywhere?? Abi we're you people cursed to never develop like others??

Why is it that it is only noise you people are known for making?

Look here, even up till today, una still no get standard CBD or single skyscraper in the entire SE, more than 50-years after Ibadan commissioned the first one in the entire country (check it out below as it still towers above the city even today). You people still have to come all the way to the SW (and more recently Abuja) to see skyscrapers!! It's not our fault that you people chose to flee and refused to develop your region!!

The locations in the pictures attached below aren't Marina CBD in Lagos, but Dugbe at Ibadan. With that we have demonstrated flashes of greatness infrastructurally even outside Lagos, Yorubas built that without oil money, please show us anything similar that your own people have done in your entire region or STFU!!!

Our forebears and their descendants built everything, both old and new in Ibadan, without oil money, and the infrastructures are still standing till this day to attest to that. WHILE YOUR PEOPLE ARE STILL FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO DEVELOP AN AREA THAT IS BARELY THE SIZE OF OYO STATE. Already, your cities are getting rundown with brown roofs everywhere, and looking worse than our old settlements, inspite of y'all having to rebuild after the civil war. Yet you have the nerve to talk about 'developing' other people's lands??

Anambra

NOW BELOW IS IBADAN! YOUR FATHERS DIDN'T BUILD OR 'DEVELOP' NONE OF THAT.

The reason why some people tell you Igbos to make Anambra look like Lagos is because many of you claim to develop Lagos. If you can develop Lagos to be the 4th largest economy in Africa, why can't you develop the whole SE to be at least like Lagos since you are globally known for your developmental strides. I have never seen the SW people claiming the development of Lagos thus, your idea of telling them to develop Ekiti, Oyo, etc is silly.

I partially disagree. Lagos is what it is today becos the leaders have brains. At a point, they decided to just do the right thing.

Lagos has been transformed from fashola and now Ambode is just living up to the billing too. You have to understand that lagos is working. Those guys have found a way to generate their own money, so they do not wait for FG.

With the kind of population in Lagos, if you give a leader that is daft the chance to lead, Lagos will crash and the level of unlawlessness we would have had would have been alarming. It's not perfect but the government is trying in terms of security and order with regards the kind of population she has. In as much as the foundation may have been laid becos it was former capital, don't ever discredit the great work Lagosians have put in to change Lagos.

In those days Lagos was all about Victorial Island but today you don't wanna know. Even the V.I self has been transformed by Lagos state government and V.I is giving birth to Eko Atlantic City, yet you are there talking about old school days.

Give a stupid man an empire to manage, in 3 yrs it will become a den. So it's not about where Lagos is coming from but where Lagos has moved to and also where it's heading.

Give it a few more years, Abuja will not still be compared to Lagos. The progress of Lagos is just too much. If the other yoruba state can produce leaders who can generate funds and be ready to work as well as being creative, they will transform their land.

Since I left uniben, I haven't been to Benin in over 15yrs now but people are lauding the change. Oshiomole even said he is not ashamed to copy what Lagos is doing. Benin has transformed but can they sustain it or build on that? Well that rest in their hands.

See Calabar (small london)! It is what it is becos the leaders are using their brain. It is the tourist hub of Nigeria today and has nothing to do with federal capital.

Yiigboos that have no home.
They ran away from their erosion raven red mud.

Their "leader" are useless and confused as their ordinary people.
They should rather go back to their place and build it.

One nigeria is a fake union.
Certainly it would break. Nobody believes in it except the clueless yiigboos.

I don't know what you are implying.

The problem why they will fail at federal level is becos the sabotage will be too much.

Look at fashola, does it mean he is a failure? NO!

I respect that man cos he has proven himself but when you are at state level as a governor, you are the all in all but at federal level you are like a boy. Criminals will frustrate any plan you have to make a change becos it doesn't rest in your hands alone. It's easier for Nigeria to development at state level than federal.

Look at how the USA is. Every state run their show and compete with each other. Like in Lagos (state level), hausa, igbos or any other tribe can interfere but at federal level, you are going to meet a lot of opposition and greedy people. Tribalism and all nonsense will play in.

He would surely perform by far better than the clueless old man buhari.

President has the power over the country like the governor has the power over the state.

Even amaechi, donald duke and some others would perform by far better than buhari.

What buhari lack is willingness to perform well.

Obasanjo and others like that suffered the same problem and failed.

Another Igbo investor, a big real estate player based in Enugu is negotiating the second tallest skyscraper in Eko...the hotel I think. We will buy up all that Eko Atlantic City and finally rename it "Igbo-Etiti." These afonjas don't know who we are. By the time we are done with these people, over-run them, buy up all their properties and make them perpetual tenants...indentured servants, they will run back to Benin Republic out of frustration, and leave Lagos for Igbo Jews developers to develop.
