Not good at all, if u enter one chance, they will just take u to the nearest ATM and........

Nigerians don't need this, because of our poor security system.

Some people fingers can hardly be accepted by biometric machines.

People would exhume corpses just to get their fingers..

Ambulance would be seen queuing at ATM gallery...

Finally, thumps would start missing nd won't be surprise seeing people protect their fingers with "burglary proof"...

I Object due to the following demerits... And I want to believe that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages!!!!

1. It becomes practically impossible for an incapacitated dad or mom send any of their kids to withdraw money on their behalf with an ATM.

2. If pin/password is erased, it doesn't in anyway reduce crime.... it could escalates it. Murder would be common.

3. In an event of a sudden death of a man, especially in a remote place while the family of the man is not aware, a criminal could easily cut of his/her finger... and, well your guess is as good as mine.

In conclusion, they might be some advantages but the disadvantages is terrifying. Murder may be common in the society.

I doubt if it will work... The finger print can't work cos some people's finger are worst. I can remember the time of using finger print for voting

https://www.engadget.com/2013/09/16/why-a-disembodied-finger-cant-be-used-to-unlock-the-touch-id-se/

From the first line ...

"When a lot of folks think of fingerprint-scanning technology, they often assume there's a single way to do it, but nothing could be further from the truth. There are actually more than a half-dozen different technologies -- and combinations thereof -- that various devices employ to read prints, with varying levels of reliability, and yes, some of them would indeed work with a finger you chopped off of a dear friend, but the Touch ID sensor on the iPhone 5s isn't one of them"

the vast majority of fingerprint sensors are not as efficient as that on the Iphone. Many do not even need your finger to be hacked; an image can be gotten from a picture, digitally scanned, and a finger reconstructed using a 3D printer. This was done to the German defense minister in 2014:
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/dec/30/hacker-fakes-german-ministers-fingerprints-using-photos-of-her-hands
Thats one reason why European politicians have been advised by security agencies not to flash v-signs.

Nice article anyway. Thanks

My point is that a common criminal in Nigeria who decides to chop off fingers just to used it to gain access to people's account fraudulently will be disappointed.

The technology in an iphone 5s will be definitely inferior to what will be used in such cash machines.

What about those who need to make withdrawals but are in the hospital?

What about handicaps with no fingers?

What about those who may lose their fingers to accident?

What if the finger print is cloned?

No perfect security feature exist but the card and the pin is still a convenient option.

Very sensible & good questions..
