Is

R.D = Wt. Of substance in air / wt. Of equal volume of water
Since Hooke's law is obeyed we use the extension in place of weight.
We have extension of the metal in air
We also have extension of metal in water but we don't have weight of the water that is equal in volume to the metal
So use Archimedes principle 'upthrust = weight of fluid displaced' to get the weight of equal volume of water
Upthrust= wt. in air - wt. In water
= 10.5 - 6.8
= 3.7 cm
> wt. Of equal volume of water = 3.7 cm
Applying R.D formula
R.D = Wt. Of substance in air / wt. Of equal volume of water
= 10.5/3.7
= 2.84
Confirm
To add to it
R. D =weight in air /weight displaced by object in water(upthrust)

Using hooks law
R. D=L1/L1-L2

the answer should be (B). Co2. Option (B) is correct because it is a RANDOM factor and only depends on MAN as to whether or not trees would be cut. what of no.10 sir
i think it should be rainfall since rainfall serves as means of excreting excess co2 and water in the atmosphere but av seen many people choose MAN .
how does man excretion brings about stable ecosystem

b4 u attempt a question, u need to look at the level technicality attached to it. And that means your reasoning should go indepth within the shortest possible time, as time is not on your side. Ecosystem simply refers to PLANTS and ANIMALS living and interracting together with their physical environment. Remember MAN is also an ANIMAL( but higher one in this case). Animals exert the greatest presure on the ecosystem because of their complex nature. I.e they are heterotrophs(they feed directly or indirectly on plants). MAN being an higher animal means: he has better adaptive traits than other animals( especially in terms of reasoning), hence he could make proper or otherwise use of environment than any other living thing, even animals. Is that understood? Shalom!

Wow...you just brought my attention towards EXCRETED.. nonetheless if that is the case, pollution should be the greatest influence that affects its stability from CO to CO2 to CFCs to the depletion of the ozone layer etc ... I think so!

How does rainfall serve as a means of excreting excess CO2 sir?

Sir, I believe this is for question 14.

Isn’t the rainfall pattern in rainforests even all through... considering that I thought the distribution of plants should then be mainly dependent on the amount of sunlight..

Please shed more light

I used to think sunlight was d answer, but after consulting several Past questions in addition to oau putme question and refrence, I was humbled to summit.

One thing is that plant receive adequate sunlight in rainforest, which means sunlight cannot be a limiting factor since they always have more than enough.

But for whatever reason, amount of rainfall is not constant, reason you will see a vague value in textbooks e.g 200-250mm per annum.

sunlight supply is constant and adequate, but rainfall varies even in tropical forest.

Rain fall in Lagos than Abeokuta.

yeah u are right! Amount of rainfall varies at times. Swampy areas such as ogun, lagos, delta e.t.c. are expected to have the highest amount of rainfall per annum ranging from 200-250cm; while tropical forests may have 150-200cm. The trick is just that if due to weather irregularities, the rainfall expected for SWAMPY areas reduced at a particular time, the same would cause reduction in the amount of rainfall expected for tropical forests at that same time, such that the expected difference in vegetation for both areas remain intact. Hope you get this?

Lemme also share my own problem as regards reading to my boss Pes13.

Whenever I'm reading my textbooks I always have the urge to complete it as soon as possible especially when exam date as been announced but at the same time I will also want to re-read the previous ones I've read so as to have better understanding. So at the end of the day, the reading becomes irregular.

PS: I also notice that when the exam date has been announced i feel like it's about a week for the exam to hold even if the exam is said to hold after 6 months.

homogenous mixture is uniform, and components will hardly be identified from one another. E.g coca-cola drinks, alloys e.t.c while heterogenou mixture is not uniform. E.g muddy water

I may be wrong, but as a science student ,I should be able to give you a nearly accurate explanation, if at all not accurate. Viscousity is a force associated with flow of fluids. It's a form of pressure and it increases with increase in thickness of fluids. I.e palmoil is more viscous than ordinary water. Again, pressure increases with depth: such that pressure at surface of fluids is less than that at the bottom, hence viscousity increases with depth. Hope you get my explanation? Maybe gurus have contrary opinion sha.
