Hello all, I am new here.

Please can anyone explain to me what does a post baccalaureate degree means? What's the difference between it and a master's degree?

Thank you. Please don't mind my dumb question. Not everybody knows the meaning.
They're the same bro, post baccalaureate degree also includes PhD as well.

ApplIed for MA counseling. Submitted transcripts, International Passport page, One recommendation letter, sighned and submitted an affidavit of financial support, submitted bank statement, etc. Toefl was automatically waived...Nigeria, no GRE (depending on your GPA and course). For my course, they needed a GPA of 2.5 and above to waive the GRE, my GPA is above 3.0 so it's a straight waive. You can PM me.

Baker77:
thanks so much. Which document did you submit and what's your course of study?

Yea, BSU is quite slow in their admission process. Did you send them your sponsor's bank statement (showing minimum of $25,000 for undergraduate studies or $23,000 for graduate studies), letter of support from your sponsor and i20 supplemental request form? If not, you need to asap. Your sponsor's statement and letter of support need to be notarized. I have attached the i20 supplemental request form to this message. Then email all 3 documents to syego@bowiestate.edu. He is in charge of coordinating international admissions.

You can also email him to inquire on the status of your application.
bro I sent you pm i have some issues to discuss with you about BSU and other stuff concerning admission pls reply my pm

Remember in May or June when I told you the only thing I'm expecting from you is this success story?

Cheers!

Short answer - No. You should consider sitting for the SAT. If you get a scholarship, then no one will care if your account is -2. Also please do not expect to "support myself with a side work". You won't be able to work at all in your first year and after that no more than 20 hours/week is allowed. You should apply only if you have enough resources to take care of yourself at least for the first year.

Thank you.

In that case, how much will it cost from SAT registration to my interview, let's see if i can do this. AND for the first one year I'll be unable to work in the US, what's the Naira minimum i need in my account to have visa approved.

Sorry for the bother..

Yes it different from masters or phd in the traditional sense .... except of it a second entry degree. always check google

Postbaccalaureate programs (postbac) is for students who are working toward a second bachelor's degree or a second entry degree.

These programs are offered for those who already have a first undergraduate degree.

Post Baccalaureate programs are not considered traditional graduate education , but it is more advanced than a bachelor's degree.

Would you also want me to sit for the SAT on your behalf? It’s your job to do the necessary research. How to register for the SAT and cost is public information on the web. When you select a school, they tell you how much the application fee is. The rest is up to you.

It’s ok to be frustrated and confused, but it is no excuse to not put in the work to pursue better opportunities. Depending on what stage you are in your degree, it might actually make more sense to finish your degree in Nigeria, using that time to research quality graduate programs you can get into for free.

Life is what YOU make of it. I came here with exactly $2000 in my pocket... you can do it too, regardless of what you have in your pocket. Determination and the willingness to put in the effort is what makes the difference.

Well, still in my second year. Was supposed to be promoted to my 3rd level then they came saying missing script in my promotional exam, like wtf I sat for this. & I'm 21 year old and wrinkled.

Nigeria education system is a rigorous spider web of sweat and frustration, really. Perhaps to some, perhaps to many.

Just needed some new start since i hadn't gone far, but then I'm intimidated by the account funds i see here. I just think poor man like me gotta settle for the less. Eish. Life is bed of thorns.

Thanks for the help tho'.

So, how did you get the money to pay for your tuition and other bills, or did $2000 cover all during your time?

I went to school for free ($64500 tuition all paid for) + $18000 living expenses/year given by the program.

All you need - a high gpa, ace your GRÉ, find top schools that are fully funded by the US government... job done.

The problem is most of you are too lazy to find these.

What should be the response to this questions during interview
1. What is your study plan in USA
2. Would you apply for phd after msc

Hello my people..

Please, what documents do I have to take to the embassy for my interview?

While filling my Ds-160, I included all the International organization that I have volunteered with, with certificate to prove that and also included in the ds-160 that I am a YALI alumni..
So, do I have to go with all my Certificates to prove it or I should just go with the general documents required?

I'm asking cos I don't want them to feel like am too desperate to travel to usa o..

No need to carry those certificates. Just prepare for the interview, and go with the required documents.

1. The truth
2. The truth

If you're still confused what the truth is, then you're obviously not a genuine student and you should be prepared to be denied.
