At a very tender age of 16 i had a heart break, my girl was going out with a older guy and when i saw them in one outting. I call her phone, Immediately she saw my call she switch off her phone. The most annoying thing is i was the one who bought the MTN sim card for her As of 2006, After that day i broke my sim card and we stopped seeing each other. From that moment everything about me changed, A beast grew inside of me and my love life changed. Each time i fell in love No matter how hard i try i can't love that lady more than two weeks. Even if we have sex or not once is two weeks that love will just dissapear, for this reason i stopped dating a long time ago because i feel guilty inside of me. Recently i came across one of my childhood friend that i love so much, I asked her out and she accepted. I was so happy because the love was burning and glowing like a flame, To be honest i have never love like this in my life before and i thought i have been free from the old me. Now is two weeks and my love for this lady is about to dissapear and I'm scare because i don't want to hurt her, If i do it will betray our long friendship. As the only child of my parent my mum demand i marry next year after i gradauate immediately and i intend to marry this lady. My fellow NLanders please help me, What should i do to keep loving this lady? Admin pls push this to the front page.

Lot are in this predicament (or similar to this). Such strong psychological trauma can have a long lasting effect on one if you aren't emotionally/psychologically strong and especially if you've sacrificed so much in the relationship.

The thought of being betrayed again stops you from opening your heart completely and that prevents you from loving completely also, so within 2 weeks, the amount of love you initially let out to love this lady gets finished (Damn right! I just quantified love )

My advice is that you spend much time together, go have fun together 'cause love isn't suppose to be boring (at least that's what people say) and while together, do things in your common interest.... And lastly, you could have your head examined by a psychologist too

By the way, you're lucky you can still love, unlike you, I don't even know if that feeling exist anymore or it's just a figment of peoples imagination.
