On my hospital list for baby, there is glucose in the list thats incase breastmilk doesn't flow immediately but in our antenatal classes the midwife told us not to use glucose for our baby bcus of the sugar content in it, that baby is so tender to start taking in sugar substance like that, so it brought to my question if formula is preferable and doesn't have sugar in it(as in is it as pure as breastmilk?). I'm doing my shopping I want to know the necessary one to get. Thank you as I anticipate your replies.

I think you should buy both as they have their usefulness. My hosp does not believe in glucose either so we started with formula from day 1. We later gave him glucose after a couple of days cos my mom believes it helps reduce and jaundice traits. You can also take the glucose. Plus you might be lucky and bm starts flowing immediately and you won't need either.

It was and it came back negative. We are back at the hospital. 7 diaper change just today. My baby is vanishing before my eyes and i can't do nothing about it. So sick and tired of this

If malaria test wasn't carried out. I urge you to go back to the hospital.
When my DS experienced this kind of pooping, the stool test was ok but he tested +ve to malaria. the malaria was treated and the pooping stopped like 1wk after.
keep breastfeeding, don't stop the zinc/ors and stay positive.
The experience is energy draining I must say.
Your LO will be fine.

Please stop the formula for now. Manage BM and ORS. Viral infection run its course within seven days,The ORS is to replenish lost fluids. At 7kg ,you can introduce banana, rice to baby. In little quantity to aid her system.

From 6 months to about 8 months my baby didn't add as much weight as he had been adding from birth. I noticed he stretched and became taller but his weight barely budged the entire period. I was told here that it's normal, they are also expending a lot of energy learning how to move. It's between 8 months and 9 months that we added weight again

I prepared tombrown and start feeding her after 2spoons she won't accept again she will keep screeming and crying and messing up the whole place...I even used bottle but still same issue...Am the one now consuming it.
I have tried cerelac, ogibaba, mash this mash that, some of the purees av learnt here, she still wouldn't accept after a spoon or 2...
if we are eating she will be doing long throat but try giving her, she will squeeze face and spat it out..
I don't know if she's still getting all the nutrients from breastmilk... thanks

Still keep trying, you will find the small thing that she will take. Do you give her food from your plate? Make very little quantity. EBF babies sometimes don't take to solids as fast as combi fed babies. Do you express BM in bottle for her before now? Did she take it?

Please go back to the hospital and let them give antibiotic. There's obviously a stomach bug.

Could be genetics. No harm going to have a paed take a look to rule out any underlying course other than genetic.

Your baby won't vanish before your eyes.

So sorry about your baby. Continue to give the ORS but breastfeeding should continue if she is still breastfed. From research when your baby is down some of the virus or bacteria causing the problem passes into your breast and your body modifies the breastmilk to meet your baby's need at that point in time to fight off the virus or bacteria. If you want to give her the rice cereal express breastmilk and mix with it to give her. You need to be calm nothing will happen to your baby.

She is fine if she is still breastfeeding. My 10 month old is,still on 50% breastmilk and he is doing okay. He prefers breast to any other thing you give him. To encourage him to take his cereals I mix it with breastmilk. He also refuses to be fed other foods by me but when am out he will collect from other people in the house. So it's a gradual thing ,give the 2 or 3 spoons she is ready to take then top her up with breastmilk. Also let someone else feed her while you step out of the house for a walk. She may eat more from someone else
