Philanthropist Laments State Of The Nation, Unveils Financial Aids For Start-ups Disturbed by the current state of the nation, Philanthropist and Chairman of the New Minds Initiative, Terrence Benjamin Chukwu, has staged a protest against failure of governance in the country. In a four-minute heartrending video released on his social media handles, @TheNewMinds1 on Twitter and @TheNewMinds on Facebook, Terrence calls for true patriotism. Terrence who had earlier organised a #TheNewMindInitiative street protest in Lagos said that each time he wakes in the morning, all he sees is mourning in the streets, pains of hard work with no gain. “When I look around the street, all I see is anger, hunger, frustration, dehumanization, insurgency, tribal and religious crises, among others. We need to change our mindsets if Nigeria must grow,” said the motivational speaker and thought leadership coach. To demonstrate its support to a viable nation for all, #TheNewMindInitiative has unveiled a business grant for SMEs in need of capital to start-up. To stand a chance to win a N200,000 grant monthly, visit www.thenewminds.org and share your new Nigerian dream. I like this. I always have it at the back of my mind that I will do stuff like this when I become a millionaire (in dollars). My plan is to pick a different state every month, go on the most popular radio station in the state, and ask people to call in with their start up ideas. And then, every month, pick 10 people and give them 200k each. Empowering entrepreneurs is more powerful than just dashing people money or recharge card online, cos those entrepreneurs will start businesses that will better the life of people in the country, and they will also employ more people. It will lead to exponential growth over a period of time. 17 Likes |

ipafricaStaff: We have the best motivation speakers in the world, yet we linger in current situation. We are the most religious, yet very corrupt. Majority are people who know the truth, the pathway of honesty and integrity, they won't follow, some due to societal pressure, trends or selfish interest. You have spoke Your Own brother, just do your part, influence the world around you and hope we see the bigger change for good. 1 Like |

It is really disturbing. It doesn't seem like there is any kind of legitimate government in Nigeria, especially at the grassroots. All the council workers do is formulate and extort all sorts revenues from hard working and enterprising citizens just to share among themselves, without putting anything back into the society to keep it spinning . The open gutters are filled with debris and stagnantwater that breeds man eating mosquitoes , the pothole roads are overgrown with bushes,no more side walks for pedestrians and the streets are like that of a society where there are no healthy adults. Even Somalia looks better than Nigeria these daysm |
