Congratulations to everyone that got their desired IELTS score today. Following up on the happy mood, I received my COPR today. Below is the details of my application: WES: 20th September. (MSc Degree) IELTS: 23rd September (CLB 10) EOI Submitted: 24th September (CRS 496) ITA: 4th October eAPR: 5th October Medical Passed: 16th October BG IP1: 18th October BG NA2: 31st October BG IP2: 7th October PPR: 12th November Passport sent: 14th November Passport/COPR received: 24th November. As suggested by cochtrane. Itemised below is what is peculiar about my application: 1. Proof of funds: I submitted a single-page document following the cic guideline. I know some usually advised to even attach six months SOA. Personally, I think it is unnecessary so long you have a document from your bank drafted according to the cic template. My motto has always been KISS (keep it simple and straightforward). Also, a few threads earlier, someone asked if he/she should explain why the money is in US dollars. Well, my POF was in SFr. and it was fine. 2. Medical Examinations: A couple of days after I submitted my application, I went for medicals even without ITA (I was a bit confident I'd secure ITA at the next draw). During the exam, the panel physician thought I might have inguinal hernia and suggested I see a visceral surgeon. After running a couple of MRIs, the specialist scheduled me for surgery two days later. The operation went well and my health insurance picked up the tab including the medical exam which was kind of nice because the exam was about SFr. 700. The major take away of this point is that surgery (either new or prior) doesn't affect your application (at least in my case) as long as it is not critical. 3. Reference letters: I work at a university so my case was kinda weird. The HR gave me a reference letter that covers pretty much everything required by cic except job description. The HR personnel said they can't give me a reference with job description as they are not directly overseeing me and I should contact my advisor for that. Now the problem is I'm working on several proposals to secure funding for my Post-Doc and didn't want to jeopardise that. Here comes the important part, the LOE. Your LOE is perhaps the single most important document that you have absolute control over. Please use your LOE to your full benefit (even if takes you 100 pages to thoroughly prove the veracity of your claims beyond doubt). e.g. Part of my job description for my NOC includes "publishing findings in scientific journal". So I listed all my publications and provided links to the various online articles. All in all, please treat all info you get on this thread as "for educational and informational purposes" only as the only official channel (as Canadianfly and other senior members constantly advise) still remains the cic website. Finally, I can't fail to acknowledge the great efforts of the contributors and the e-friends I have made along the PR journey including (but not limited to) 40manlappy, cochtrane, perks, mummyjaygirls, GlisteringStar, Canadianfly, Hephgirl (I hope she's alright), Algbenguze, einsteino, elfmann, aig84 and numerous others I can't mention. Thanks and good luck to you all. Apologies for the long epistle. 66 Likes 4 Shares |

Dear Team, I just started filling my EE EOI profile, I previously filled mid this year, and transmitted but was informed "Profile Ineligible" . Now in my new Profile I am creating, I was asked to indicate If I had applied to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before? Do I answer Yes/No to this considering my first profile was deemed Ineligible. Also I played with the two option, Choosing Yes ask me to provide UCI (Unique Client Identifier) but wouldnt accept the UCI from the Ineligible Profile(My UCI is like CAN0000...) |

Greatlady234:Your LL.B certificate is sufficient as it has same ranking with masters degree. Please don't evaluate your B.L . Do your ECA with IQAS using LL.B certificate. IQAS recognizes our certificate as a first professional university degree in law while WES is a bit blurry in their own recognition hence Lawyers in this forum go for the clearer one to avoid stories that touch. However, you will still evaluate your credentials with WES should you choose to work with your certificates when you eventually migrate to Canada but then, as one would say, first things first. When we get to that bridge , we go cross am Please start from page 0 and read up to familiarise yourself adequately Shalom P.S what's your CRS score with your IELTS result 2 Likes |

Sorry for not giving you an update, been quite busy. I finally received my ECA on the 17th of November and its quite sad that it was evaluated as just a Bachelor’s with the 1yr diploma automatically removed. I'd probably wait for the completion of my masters programme in a month's time and request for an Update. dombosco: 1 Like |

Good morning All, Please can anyone who used ICES as an ECA signify to me? 1. Document Requirement: Based on what I read on the website, they didn't explicitly state that a copy of my degree certificate should be sent, they stated as follows "In most cases an official transcript is sufficient as long as the completion of the award is noted within. If confirmation of the award is not present in the academic transcript, this information can arrive in letter form from the appropriate authority accompanying the official transcript of records" Now, in my transcript, there's no confirmation of award but the school will send a clear copy of my degree certificate. So am I required to get the letter they stated above along with my transcript? . . . or is the degree certificate and the transcript all that is required? 2. Document Characteristics: "for a document to be considered official, it must bear proper seals, signatures and postal markings" Please, what do they mean by postal markings? Thanks and kind regards. |

Good morning house, I got my IELTs yesterday, had 8.5,7.5,7.5 ,7 in LRSW. My CRS with spouse non -accompanying is 408. I am filling my express entry profile. Will I have the option to fill spouse details? If my spouse should change his mind before provincial nomination and write IELTS , can I still edit my EE profile to read spouse accompanying? Thank you. 3 Likes |
