Belafonte: You cannot support gender equality and bash feminism. Feminism is about gender equality too . The reason why you don't hear of masculinity is because men are the most favoured gender. The majority of gender discrimination, stigmatisation and injustice is against women Who are the major victims of rape? Men or women? Who are the major victims of domestic violence? Is it not women? Have you ever heard of male widows/widowers being oppressed and accused of killing their wives? Have you ever heard of male non-virgins being stigmatised cuz they lost their virginity before marriage? Have you ever heard of men being marginalized in the labour force, politics, government and other leadership positions cuz of gender? Have you ever heard of men trafficking and male sex slavery? List out the gender injustices in the society and you will know that the woman is really suffering. Of course some problems in the society affects both genders or men in particular. But injustice against women is too much that the idea of feminism had to be born to fight it . If women were enjoying the privileges that men enjoy today there would be nothing like feminism. But women are the most oppressed gender, that is why feminism is necessary. If you know the gravity of injustice that women suffer, you will know that men are the most favoured gender. Over 7,000 women are murdered every year for mercy killings due to female inferiority and to restore family honor. Over half of the world's women have suffered genital mutilation. Some resources estimate over 85%. Child marriages (girls under 15) occur at alarming rates and a number of children physically and sexually abused in these situations is equally overwhelming. Rape occurs in all forms, but the majority are men-on-women scenarios. Rape is not taken seriously and is incredibly under-reported. Statics in Bangladesh reports that 61% of urban rapists felt no remorse due to social views on women and over 95% of reported rapes led to no convictions. Even though women are rising in the workplace, sexual harassment is still thriving as a way to play a power game between genders. Over 50% of women report being sexually harassed at work. Sex trading and forced prostitution are still a dominating business on a global scale. The media still promotes women as sexual objects dependent on men. Women face inferior stereotypes socially, but that is the whole article in itself. Wage disparity is real and women are paid less than men for the same jobs with the same degrees. Women are pressured by looks. Look at the makeup industry and how much women pay to get the “flawless natural” look to conform. 1 Like |

Fyi0: I support APC but i'm not an APC member. I love Niger Delta but i'm not a niger deltan. I support the independence of Catalonia but i ain't Catalan. But you think i must be a pussy to support feminism? If you think i have to be famale to be able to speak up for women rights, then you have a problem. I dont have to be a woman to support feminism. There are men who are feminist too. I'm one of them. If you have any problem with feminist, you can argue with me. Until then...go hug transformer. 5 Likes 4 Shares |

BlackManta:Something not feminism. Something without exaggerations and generalizations. Have you been following the Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein stories? Why not talk about how a certain Emily Lindin tweeted that she does not care if some innocent men lose their jobs over false allegations of sexual harassment? That would make for an interesting conversation don't you think? 1 Like 1 Share |

Daeylar:I believe we are treated equally, and will focus on both sexes even if one is dealing with harder situations than the other, if any inequalities arise. This is not the same as Feminism. If you think it is, ask a Feminist why they won't identify as an Egalitarian. |

Ranchhoddas: Is there anything exaggerating about feminism? Is there any atom of unfair generalization in my article? I'm not on the MEN ARE SCUM crew. I dont hate all men...just the bad ones that maltreat women. I did not generalize. You obviously have feminism confused with feminazi. Cuz feminazi is the extreme and exagerated one not feminism. I have followed the Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein. I condemn sexual harassment even if the victim is male. Sexual harassment affect women more and i know than men can be victims too. Either of sexual harassment or false accusation. I totally condemn it. I'm a man and i know what it feels like to be falsely accused of sexual harassment. Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey are guilty and should face criticism. Emily Lindin is a feminazi not a feminist. You obviously have feminazi confused with feminism. Feminism is a balanced concept. It is not extreme, exagerated of generalized. Feminism does not support injustice against men on the issue of gender. Feminazi is an extreme and perversed version of feminism. Emily Lindin is only hiding under the cover of feminism. Many feminazis claim to be feminist but they are not. There is a difference between feminism and feminazi. Don get it confused. True feminism does not support injustice against men. Perhaps i will make a thread and explain the differences between feminism and feminazi. I condemn Emily Lindin. A true feminist would do the same. |

Nice thread blackmanta Don't let anybody distract you with some ridiculous arguments or their attention seeking antics or make you lose your cool, You've made your point, and it was a brilliant one, Whining babies everywhere on this thread. tired of the topic of this thread, but yet cannot ignore. Wants certain topics to be discussed yet cannot open a thread to discuss it, Yet still feel they can question anyone on the topic they wish to create. It's their choice to open a thread on what they want, You don't control them. Whining on someone's thread about which topic they should create, if you really feel that a topic should be discussed, stop whining and create the thread yourself. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Futureberry: go and read my post again. I did not say that men do not suffer domestic violence. I clearly implied that women are the major victims and YES it is true. Over 40% of domestic violence are male. Women still hold the greater percentage. I'm not lying when i said women are the major victims. [quote/]Who are the major victims of domestic violence? Is it not women? [quote/] Can you also provide links for rape against men. Men trafficking and male sex slavery. Discrimination against men on the issue of virginity Stigmatisation of men in the society? The fact still remains that women are the most oppressed gender. Men do suffer but women suffer more on the issue of gender. |

BlackManta:yeah, over 40 without access to shelter from abusive partners...how is that for equal opportunity http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5111607/amp/700-000-men-victims-domestic-abuse-year.html Down here in Nigeria, there isn't a ministry taking care of men with serious sickness like cancer etc But we have ministry of women affairs.. I can only imagine the outrage if it was the other way round |
Re: Top 20 Misconceptions About Feminism by Futureberry: 12:09pm On Nov 25, 2017 |
Over 70% of men are victims of police brutality, women 30%,in your opinion for the love of feminism more attention should be place on female victims of police brutality I won't join you in creating one problem while solving another one...especially in a settings where am taged an enemy 1 Like |
Re: Top 20 Misconceptions About Feminism by BlackManta(m): 12:24pm On Nov 25, 2017 |
Futureberry: If men feel opressed, they can form a ministry for men affairs. I dont think it is difficult. Besides, men hold over 70% of political positions. They run the government. They hold many leadership positions. They are the kings in the society. Haven't you heard the phrase; "It's a man's world". Men are rulers of the world. If they want a ministry of men affairs, they can always make it happen without sweating. Women are not opposing any ministry that helps men. No one is against it. So the problem is with men. They have the capacity to fix it but they haven't. Will you blame women for that? Women want a solution to the problems that affect them hence the feminist movement. Men have problems too but they swallow the shit up and keep silent. Is it the women's fault? Women will speak up against injustice against them but men are too docile about their own problems. Will you blame the women for that? Like i said. If men wanted a ministry for men afffairs, they would have done it already. Men are not ready to help themselves. If a man is sexually harassed, his fellow men will snub his cry for help or encourage him to surrender himself to the female rapist and enjoy himself. That is how the society works. Men are not ready to solve the problems that affect them. So dont blame women. Feminist want equality. But men dont like the idea. If both genders are ready to work together, these problems you pointed out would be solved. But the society is too pesimistic. One gender talks about equality and the other gender interprets it as a call for war. 2 Likes |
