AnodaIT: can dangote lose in the bidding against any of the contenders? except if he is not interested. let him finish with the refinery, he will purchase the combination of mtn, glo and airtel. then we will have a scenario where dangote becomes the commander in chief of the federal republic without going to the polls 1 Like |

zoedew: And why do you think that is? It is intentional. It is their MO. Their highest tiered data plan is priced at 9GB/1k. It is impossible for them to offer that kind of deal with excellent nationwide coverage. MTN and 9mobile offer exceptional coverage in most locations and they price their services accordingly. Up to 500% more expensive for comparable plans. It's the same Verizon vs TMo playing out here. One uses quality service to pull in customers, the other uses eye-watering bargains. Both work for the respective companies. And yes, widespread quality service and eye-watering bargains are mutually exclusive. If you find yourself in a location where quality of service is v. important, the choice is obvious--MTN or 9mobile or Airtel even. If you find yourself in a location with excellent service on all networks, which is like most city centers, eye-watering bargains would be of more priority, and it'd be crazy to ignore Glo. I don't see what the ruckus is about. If you don't have quality Glo service in your area, go use another network and pay extra for the privilege. Don't whine like they owe you sh*t, because many of us are fans of their deals. And we know if they were to keep to your incessant demands to meet and beat the wide-range excellent service offered by other networks, we'd have to kiss those deals goodbye. -Lord 3 Likes |

onegig: Don't mind them. Tunnel thinking. By what they say you'd think there was only one company in Nigeria. In parts of the east and south for example UNICEM outguns Dangote 3 to 1. If noodles and pasta donot add value to his brand and bottom line he has every business right to dump them to remain on course. Everyone does that whether a monopoly or not. I just prefer Dangote not for what products he offers but what atmosphere he creates. He has a track record of changing the narrative in business since he ventured into flour in the eighties, brought to a halt imported sugar and salt and improved the quality of and delivery of cement and clinker products. He will put an end to gasoline importation and can shake up the telecoms industry as an outsider coming in, not with excuses but with ideas just as Globacom did at startup. That is why I donot favour SMILE despite its industry head start. It will just continue the rot and for a 50:50 indigenous/foreign participation Dangote is the only one with the clout to wrestle the South Africans and Indians. 3 Likes |

realhumanity:is that why their 4g signal is till no where to found apart from 3 states after a year when glo already covered almost 40% of the entire nation? Coordinate upgrade indeed. |

EvilMetahuman: If you are not in the telecoms sector, please don't argue with me. Glo staffs will even tell you that MTN are still the most coordinated when it comes to service delivery and service station maintenance. Glo is worst that's why they can dish out 5gig without you using 500mb out of it. We in the sector know these things. Installing a particular BTS doesn't make you better, how do you manage them? 2 Likes |

realhumanity:story story. Is mtn 4g stable or available anywhere else apart from lagos, ph, abuja like glo? After more than a year of announcing there 4g, a so called "coordinated company with topnotch upgrade" should have atleast covered 50% of the country by now. 1 Like |

EvilMetahuman: Chai, I give up on you bro. Have you been to Kano and see how its fairing? Have you tested it in many states now?. As at last year, MTN installed 4G BTS in all northern states and they are up and running. If you do not know anything, stick to your field and not come online because your 4G format is too old to connect with the upgraded 4G by mtn |
