people should know these,TALENT,PERFORMANCE,GOOD FORM,etc are not the only things that determines your invitation to the national team.
u may be performing better than some of the players being invited yet u might not merit d invitation.

before clamouring for invitation of some players especially those that have reached their peak or possibly passed their primes,i'm talking about specifically for those players that have been tested and trusted, and have played to the highest level in the past, and are still doing well till date,
those that have done the GWG in the pasted and have given their all,now they have left the national team for so long.
before calling back such players, there are so many vital things we should consider, which without those things,i would b impossible to achieve anything with such players.
apart from their talents and their current performances,
(1)do we still GUARANTEE THEIR 100% COMMITMENTS?
(2) DO THEY STILL HAVE THE ZEAL FOR THIS GAME?
(3) ARE THEY STILL AMBITIOUS ENOUGH IN THE GAME,having done all that there is to do?
(4) DO THEY STILL HAVE THE HUNGER STRONG ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING TO WIN A GAME.
(5) DO THEY STILL HAVE THE PASSION TO GIVE HIS BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY?

the players in questions are:
MARTINS,TAIWO,OSAZE,J.OBI,
etc

it's not just enough to play well week in week out but,
my questions are
(1)can we guarantee that these players still have the hunger and above mentioned qualities to win us championships?
(2) is it proper for us to invite those players that have left national team longer than 3yrs that r still doing well?
irrespective of their hunger, zeal, passion, commitment, obstruction of team team chemistry and the rest,

What is zeal without discipline, without consistency, without diligence, without focus, continous improvement and a desire to win at every opportunity.

There is no team chemistry without quality

There is a component that is essential to drawing different men together and propelling them to success. Men of outstanding quality and ability beyond the normal. They create assurance of probable victory, which in turn births confidence and the courage to pursue and obtain VICTORY. Success pulls the team together not failure.

When you have quality there is the probable assurance of victory. When you don't have quality you have the higher probability of failure. The possibility of failure breads discord and mistrust and conflicting divergence. That is what destroys team spirit a lack of confidence in your ability to overcome.

Why is Argentina a mere shadow of themselves without Messi. Imagine Portugal without Ronaldo or Brazil without Neymar and Gabriel or England without Kane and our lost son Dele. Top quality players are the pillars that make the team great.

The call to the national service of the SE is recognition of outstanding performance, your earn the right by merit. Not the probability of assumed team cohesion.

Your proposition is an affront to merit and the enthronement of mediocrity.

If you are performing in your league and in a better league and or an outstanding quality player, your call is by merit not assumed team cohesion.

Consistency over time is the definitive component in top quality players. Consistently being on top of the game. One hit wonders do not become top quality players.

I didnt call for Osaze or Tiawo they are not on top of the game. However Joel Obi outside of Mikel is the most consistent top quality midfielder we have currently.

Obagoal over the past ten years is the most continously present and past consistent striker we have now.

As it stands KC is the untouchable darling of many. He is essentially potential yet to be fully realised. He has not been consistent at club level indeed far from it. He has not scored one goal in the EPL this season. Compare him to Obagoal when the chips are down who would you rather have KC is learning the trade and still handicapped in that he is overly left foot biased. Obagoal is tested and proven and we'll schooled graduated with honours.

If Obagoal had the same level of opportunity as KC I wonder what his goal tally would be for the SE.

It's not how long ago you were in the SE, but what quality you have and can presently bring to the table.

Rohr has met with Iorfa in the past, there was supposed to be an official invitation.

However, the officials not exactly Rohr are dragging thier feet and creating unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles.

I wonder why

As long as he's putting the other players under the same ringer and not just picking on Henry. Judge him by his fellow players and not by the almighty.

Like I stated, during my time, I could score 2 goals but if we lose our coach would ask me why I didn't score 3. To hear him talk about my game, you'd think that it's me versus the other team. And I am seeing a semblance of the same attitude from Henry Onyekuru's coach, based on some of these stories we're reading.

Sometimes, in life you need someone who loved you enough to tell you the truth.
At Eupen, Henry was probably allowed to run amock and do what pleases him, provided he scored or created something for the drowning team.

At a higher level, that is not acceptable. You are expected to defend, maintain the team shape, create chances and score. The coach obviously see some serious talent in Henry and he's trying to make him grow up.
Hazard became world class when he adapted his game. I suspect the coach wants him to model his game around Hazards.

Theo Walcott's game deteorated when he believed he was better off as a striker. Today, he's neither a striker nor a winger. Henry must be careful.

I drop my pen in the fountain of love.

Well said sir.

But by the time those calling for Martins, Ike Uche, Taye Taiwo, Osaze and Enyeama have their ways the average age will clock 30.Hahaha.

We really need a Left footed player as a back-up for Echiejile, if not as a replacement.

Taking Aina or Idowu to WC with the intention of playing them as LB's will limit our progress in the WC.

But we can try Ebuehi since Toyin said he can play comfortably as a left-back, the same way he did against Argentina. If he(Ebuehi) fails to impress as a LB, we should get J.Torunarigha.If not ,our LB will become our weak link since Aina is not that good as a LB and Idowu does not defend and join or link up with the attack like Ebuehi does.He only edges Aina in terms of positioning as seen against Argentina.

But, can he defend and link up with the attack,No No No.

Modified:Aina is more attack minded which resulted to the second goal we conceded, while Idowu focuses mainly on defending which puts us at a disadvantage because the best way to defend has always been to attack.

I am sorry to say ,You must have been watching the back of your TV during the match because the idowu that I saw was superb at both defending and attack. FYI, I have the second half of that match downloaded on my phone and I have watched it over a hundredth times and I can say confidently that both at our attacks and our defending, you will always see idowu lurking around marking space, meaning that he haas the pace to do both at the same time which is a good thing on its own. Someone that was even in the 6 yard box when iwobi scored. There are two forms of marking, 1. Man marking and 2. Space marking . I saw idowu doing more of the later than the former while ebuehi did more of the former than the later. And from my experience playing amateur football, players/defenders who are very good at space marking or shadow marking are extremely intelligent folks who can read games very well. These set of players are indispensable in a team.

For every time we had the ball going forward, idowu was always at the third half of Argentina looking for a pass or loose ball. For every attack from Argentina, idowu was back behind in our 18 yard taking off Argentine's Pavon. Intact he frustrated Pavon out of the game and he was changed. The player who replaced him resulted to crossing from outside because he couldn't pass through idowu. There was even a clear rebounds that idowu cleared off else that woud have become 3-4. Idowu had Ogu always beside him providing support which was essential and necessary. So please, I want to believe that your assertion was erroneously made. Idowu was only silent because he was marking well "off the ball" and covering space which didn't allow the Argentines to create anything tangible through his wing. Remember that it was through his same position in the Argentines were recking havoc althrough the first half.

I will advice that you get the clip of the second half and rewatch in order to notice what I just analyzed.

There are certain players I will watch and will need to see them again in one or two other games to give them the nod. But there are some I would see for just 15mins or less and give the nod.

Brian Idowu has my nod.

Go back and look at the maturity in his game. He didn't play like a debutant. This could be connected to him being based in Russia where that friendly was played. And this we can also exploit at the World Cup. He needs no acclimatization.

For a defender to score on his debut! Go back and study the build up to his goal. So much confidence and maturity.

And hardly would you notice any gaps at the LB despite his movements up and down the pitch.

If Rohr would want to adopt the 3-5-2 formation for the WC, my wing back options are V. Moses and Brian Idowu.

And as for Ola Aina, I need to see him again in another game.

Well said. An article I read shortly before match said Idowu has an aggressive style and that he likes to attack. I stressed the fact that defensively he was solid. Di Maria was putting crosses through the right wing where Ebuehi was but none came through Pavon on the left.
Idowu has the advantage. Rohr has almost said he'd be part of the team.

Russia sha, I though the whole point of hosting the World Cup was to appear less racist and still they don't want black players in thier squad even if that player is Russian and merits a place in the team. It's surprising Russia let such a budding talent in idowu go. they even waited for a Brazilian fullback(Mario Fernandez) to change his nationality to Russian before choosing an available idown! Martins is not Messi. Argentina could not qualify without Messi's dazzle. We qualified without Obagoal. What this means is that Martins might be a good addition to the team but he's very very much dispensable. The team can do just fine without him.

Obagoal had his chances with keshi, so what happened? Let's be cautious here with the present style of the SE which involve speed and one touch play, are you sure obagoal can fit in? I keep hearing about calls for this player but are we sure he rake in the goals we see him do in china? we even see how mikel and even ighalo struggle to keep up pace with the speed of folks like moses and iwobi.

We should consider this carefully and not moved by only stats in a chinese league

I really don't like miscegenation as such. Races should maintain their racial stock which is what the Russians are doing which I support except the racism. Love your race, preserve your race without hating or destroying other races.

If it can be done without racism let Germans, Russians, Italians be Caucasians. Let Nigerians, Ghanaians, Togolese be negroids. I look at the French team and I'm like is this French? Good as an example of multiculturalism but I feel nationality should be tied to race. My opinion though.

Sir my people say that humans are like water, we flow sir. From the bible and Koran, people have always moved from place to place, remember the story of Abraham/Ibrahim and Joe/Yusuf. So miscegemege or whatever you called it has been on forever and will continue to be. Important thing is that like Martin Luther King inferred we are all equal before God!!!

Jah bless!!
Bro understand my point. Yes we are equal before God. Yes, No racism. No prejudice. I didn't say people should not travel to other places. I'm talking about preserving racial stock. That's what Russians want to do its just that they throw racism into the mix which is bad.
Is it not in the bible dem say Isreal should not intermarry?
