See, I watch football in viewing centers, different public places, forget racism, forget all that political shii

The biggest antagonist of Nigerian footballers, are Nigerians, now take this situation, I have observed the scenario, occurring over and over, in different places

Chelsea was playing a game, Mikel made the starting 11, and you here comments like
"see this one, make Im no play rubbish"
another
"we go score goal today at all, this one wey we Mikel dey play"

Now with this in mind, as the game continues , lampard makes a mistake ,you hear
"Lampido , nawa oh, pass well na"

Mikel makes same mistake you hear

"Idiot, e no sabi anything, make den carry am go back bench"

Moses, onazi, they all suffer the same insults, And I am like, wtf, our players suffer undue criticism from we Nigeria, like we are hating on them or something, any small rough patch, we start putting them down, when people who are optimistic try to encourage them, we label them as being blind..

Now, all your acclaimed "objectivity" and putting down our players, anytime they go through a rough patch over the years, has it made us produce a messi or ronaldo, even a hazard?.. Has it helped in anyway?.

No... Obviously

So leave us, let us hype our players to the heaven, we, II refuse to believe that iheanacho is not as good or better than aguero, my choice, I might be wrong, but that will not stop me from saying Alex iwobi is as good ozil..

I would rather hype my players and see attempt to live up to up or fail to live up to the hype, than put my players down at every opportunity, and accept that we would always be mediocre when compared to others

My interpretation of Rohr’s response is this.
It’s either he is just being diplomatic. More like saying if Osimhen is still in my plans, then I have no excuse not to give a chance to any striker that is scoring,
or maybehe is really thinking Martins deserves a chance to be tried in this current SE. Either way, it’s a good sign. Competition is good.

Exclusive: Rohr opens World Cup door to Martins

Obafemi Martins could have a chance to play at another World Cup if he keeps maintains his scoring form, Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has told KweséESPN.
The 33-year-old, who plays in China for Shanghai Shenhua, has scored 16 goals in 39 appearances, with his last goal coming in Sunday's 3-2 second leg win over SIPG to lead his team to the Chinese FA Cup title.
The Nigerian also scored the only goal of the first leg, which saw Shenhua progress on the away-goal rule.
Martins also boasts a respectable goalscoring record at international level, netting 18 in 41 appearances, but has only played for the Super Eagles four times since 2010, with his last two appearances coming in 2015, despite impressive showings with Seattle Sounders in the MLS and now Shanghai Shenhua.
However, Rohr says he is willing to chat to the Martins to increase his options up-front.
"Yes, the door is open to all our best players, including Martins. He is scoring a lot of goals and we need to get competition for all the positions, especially centre-forward.
"For now, we have Kelechi [Iheanacho] who is playing not all the time. [But ] we played with Kelechi against Argentina and he did well.
Then Anthony [Nwakaeme] also did well against Algeria and [Odion] Ighalo, who is injured now, did very well against Cameroon. But we have also other players, like the young boy [Victor] Osimhen, and we have to look everywhere.
"We have a lot of opportunities for the strikers, and so Martins, if he is scoring goals, will be welcome."

Idowu is naturally left footed but still good with his right foot just as Ebuehi is naturally right footed but still uses his left foot.

Idowu is right footed.

Somebody was trying to canvass for indigenous coaches

Mujtahida:

The records were that no European country has ever won the WC outside Europe. Germany bursted that record.
Whether we win the next WC or the one in Qatar or any WC for that matter it's going to be by bursting what bookmakers say. We won't win normally. It would be full of surprises.

BS upon BS! You guys should stop all these nonsense with writing off Nigerian players even before they are given a chance to perform!

On what basis are you claiming that Vardy is a better striker than Nacho? Listen until a player is given chances to perform and he fails to deliver, please don't sit there and claim that this person or that person is better than him. How many games has Nacho started at Leicester since he was signed? And if they knew that all these players were better than him why did they spend almost $30m on him? So he can sit on the bench? Do you even know the damage sitting on the bench does to a player's confidence?

Look at what happened to Mo Sallah at Chelsea. If he's a Nigerian, folks like you would write him off. But the point is, he wasn't given a chance at Chelsea. When he stepped out and performed at Roma, Liverpool came calling and today he's the top EPL scorer. Imagine if he had stayed at Chelsea ... he would still be riding bench.

O pari

Vardy is a better out and out striker than Nacho...FACTS. Nacho was bought to play ALONGSIDE Vardy in a 4-4-2.
Saying Nacho is better than Vardy is one of the funniest things ever.
The Salah you see at Liverpool at the moment is 20 times better than the Salah at Chelsea, Fiorentina and heck Roma. No comparison or whatever.
People like you are always blinded by patriotism. When we said G Jesus was going to push Nacho further down the pecking order at city, you guys refused to listen. It was "Nacho alien kid", etc.
Mahrez > Nacho as AM
Vardy > Nacho as CM
Gray > Nacho on the wings.

That is just the truth of the matter.

Name 10 epl strikers better than Vardy??

It’s hard to see players listed as both-footed if there is such a thing. Some players are almost as good with the other foot.

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 5:41pm On Nov 29, 2017
My only beef with the coaching crew at Leicester is that they haven't given Nacho a chance to perform. Shakespeare claimed that he wanted to introduce him gradually since he was coming off an injury. You pay big buck for a player because you need him, but if you start off by keeping him on the bench it affects his confidence and his game. Kelechi is new to the team, it would take him time to get at the top of his game but you gotta give him game time to help him get there. Keeping him on the bench would damage his confidence.

Up until yesterday, Jamie Vardy has been on a scoreless run but didn't they keep playing him? Kelechi doesn't need to walk on water before he can start at Leicester. I am not one of those folks who would jump on a player because he's sitting on the bench. I would only criticize you when you're given a chance to play and then you don't deliver.

O pari

Mujtahida:

Well, I might have used racism cos some suggested that if he were an English man he'd be treated differently.
The truth is none of knows why he's not getting game time. We are left with good or bad guesses. But it's safe to say that if he's up to scratch they'd feature him as leaving him out(for whatever reason) makes no sense.
That chance has to be earned ooo. It's not just given. Shakespeare didn't give him a chance, Claude Puel too. Bros look at it again - the constant is Nacho

Ok I’ve been on transit. Just finished catching up with all the posts.

On KC, he will need to weather the storm. I was among those who clamored for his departure from Man City, but I had rather preferred he moved to Germany. Well the situation is what it is. It appears he is facing the same music in Leicester. Well not actually the same. This music is a bad bad record. He would have looked better being benched by the likes of Jesus and Aguero in a team with a blistering form so far, than that lowly Leicester. Let truth be told, Leicester is making him look very bad considering his potentials that we’ve always seen in him. The solution for him is to fight his way back to reckoning. He needs to challenge the likes of Vardy to show he is really that player we see him as. As far as SE is concerned, I’m comfortable with him.

On Kayode. He still has a lot to prove that his exploits in the Austrian Bundealiga was not a fluke. For SE, he has a mountain to climb.
As long as Leicester are playing a 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-2 with Mahrez behind Vardy, Nacho is going to have a very difficult time breaking into the first 11. When it was Okazaki playing as a second striker, I wasn't too worried as i felt Nacho could bench him as the season progressed but now Puel has decided to play Mahrez as a 10, tell me how/who is he going to bench?? People are easily writing Vardy off like he's Heskey or something...look at his numbers and tell me any sane would just drop him like that for Nacho?

How come is not comfortable going forward with the ball?
How many times did you see us going forward on that left wing before you start focusing on Idowu? How many times did see Iwobi(about three times and he was dispossessed twice) going forward on that left wing, how many times did you see Ogu going forward as a LMF? Compared to the right where Ebuehi was exchanging passes with Iheanacho, Mikel and Ndidi there wasn't much going on on the left flank. Abi you want him to just run down the flank to prove a point?

Which kine a more technical team will punish who?
That is what we have always been hearing "a more technical team will punish us".

Name the footballing teams in the world that are more technical than Argentina.
Ha ha ha, it's not like Argentina used to dash us 3-0 and above in our previous meetings.

They have been lucky, the last two times we met them, always escaping with just a goal.

In 2010 WC,it was 1-0 and In 2014 WC, it was 3-2.

We should admit that we have a very weak left-side for the 3-5-2 formation.

Did you not say "most of our goals came from the right?"

What if a team decides to pay special attention to our right side, shutting down our attacks and attacking our right just to stop us from attacking?

What then will be the reaction of our weak left-side if they decide to "defend" at the left and wait for the right to initiate both attacks and counter-attacks?

We should work on our left-side starting from the LCB.Balogun is slow and right-footed(I stand to be corrected) and shouldn't have played in that position.

I've already talked about that of Idowu.

If we could get a good left-footed player. We can play him in the LCB and probably draft V.Moses to the LWB.

Doing the above means bossing the both flanks. The opposing team might have no choice but to try the middle where they will meet both Onazi and Ndidi.

With this, even Germany go confirm say Nigeria sabi ball.

We can now say go!!! Super Eagles.

And who says we no fit win world cup with this formation and the right players?

Preach brother, preach. They will tell u it's cos they wish well for him or they want to see him play better but deep down it's to avoid the imaginary disgrace or disappointment in their 'patriotic' minds. It's just like a Nigerian parent who sees the huge amount of work and time his child puts into reading only to come out with a '2nd' or '3rd'. Instead of the parent to congratulate and encourage the child by saying 'u tried but I believe in u and know u will do better next time because u can' h/she will say 'just look at u,carrying 2nd. When I was ur age I was carrying 1st. Does the person that carried 1st position have two heads? Is it not the same teachers that taught u? Look at ur friend chima took 1st and u took 2nd. U'r not ashamed of yourself'.
The truth is Nigerians are one of the most hypocritical and judgemental people on earth with with wicked hearts too. My brothers and sisters pls let us learn to appreciate what we have the best way we can. If u could do it better than them,u won't be here analysing what we have. Criticize but do so with love. England no dey waste time hype their players oo,even those with naija origin. Let's emulate them.

If his quality was needed so badly in the team why did the likes of Keshi,Siasia and Oliseh ignore him??

Its now that our crops of youngsters have worker hard to secured the world cup ticket that you want Martins to join the train to Russia abi??

Iheanacho can not bench Vardy, Mahrez, Okazaki, & Gray. He just does not have it. He needs to improve upon certain rudimental skills of football such as deft first touch and ability to dribble with ease.

As for this Martins argument, he no doubt deserves to get a look in. He has been playing in the same league as Ighalo and has been just as consistent or maybe even better. He is still quick, technically gifted and probably a better finisher than Ighalo.
Forget his age - we don't have too many options upfront. Him making our world cup squad is not as preposterous as some are making it out to be.

Racism at times might seem to exclude a certain portion of the particular race but it is still good old racism. If Nigerians are being benched in the top leagues for the simple fact that they are Nigerians then it is racism, the fact that we only have 2 regulars is at the least suspicious.

Victor was a Starter before he got injured, and I'm certain he's gonna be back in the Fold once he returns to full fitness.

Ndidi is playing Week in Week out at Leicester City, he's a guaranteed Name on the List on every Match Day.

Iwobi is an intergral Part of Arsenal. He's competing with Ozil and Sanchez for the starting Berth, hence him being on the Bench is justifiable. He's having the same Fate with Elneny, Walcott, Wilshere, Coquelin and Co in the Team. And he's starting Cup Matches regularly.

Moses Simon, Ekong, Shehu, Idowu, Aina, Ebuehi, Ogu, Onazi, Mikel, Ighalo, Agu, Nwakaeme etc are Starters for the respective Clubs, so where is Racism coming from?!

Well,it's still his first season with them. Hopefully he'll get reasonable game time. What I will not accept is for the club to come out and say he didn't match up to expectations when he wasn't even given enough time to dazzle.

Football is essentially a short term career , you must understand and appreciate this.

That means time is a very expensive commodity and indeed a scarce one the higher you go the less time you get. For instance in Manchester City and similar if you get three games and you have not performed that could be the end of you. There is no compromise for success. Reasonable time in the EPL could 2 or 3games.

Bottom half of the EPL, you probably get up to six games after that you are on your own. The EPL is not a training ground to create players you get into the club on the basis of projected and anticipated expectation.

How many games has KC played and how many goals KC in the context of Leicester has simply not matched up to expectation and by any other unit of measurement has not performed to be diplomatic. Something else you should know football has very short memories, what he did at City is now history, if he does not perform he will find himself in the Championship which may not prove any easier. So his best option will be too look at a more technical league and one that is not so physically intense, possibly Seria A, La Liga and the Bundesliga.

So don't worry. We don't have anything to lose. Let Martins be invited. If he cuts it. Fine. The team has gotten an attacker be that. If he doesn't cut it, we move on. Ee easy for this present crop of Eagles? Ighalo chop bench in our match against Algeria. He was frozen out. He came back. Iheanacho, Omeruo, Musa, Ndidi, Etebo chop bench too. Ogu, Agu, Nwakaeme, Agbo, Ebuehi, dem chop bench tire. Kayode, Onyekwuru are on the fringes of the team. Are you see what I am saw?
My point is this team is tough. Competition for roles is high. Let them invite Martins. His performance or non performance will settle a lot of arguments.

The way some people are talking about martins these days eh,its like he never played for the super eagles before...

When are we gonna stop praying for Shortcuts to achieve our Objectives?! Gray is a Beast, he's untouchable at the moment. He's in the Team based on Merit.

Pls stop wishing him Injury, coz that's very bad!
I'm not wishing for him to get injured, I'm trying to highlight just how difficult it'll be for Nacho to break into the first 11.

Idowu: How I Faced Anxiety, Uncertainty Before Joining Super Eagles Camp For The First Time

Newly capped Super Eagles defender, Bryan Idowu, says he was filled with anxiety and grappled with uncertainty ahead of his first meeting with the Nigerian team, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Idowu had his first experience with the Super Eagles following his invitation to the team for the international friendly encounter against Argentina in Krasnodar on November 14 2017.

The 25-year-old hinted that he was unsure how he would be received by his new teammates after they arrived in Russia for the clash against La Albiceleste.

“There was a feeling that I had come to view. Everything is new, you do not know anybody, nobody knows me, it’s unclear how we will meet, what will be the situation, how I will look in training,” Idowu told Amkar Perm’s official website.

“I watched as a real football fan of John Obi Mikel, who at Chelsea took all the big titles, on Ndidi and Ihenacho, who play in Leicester, Iwobi at London’s Arsenal.

“A lot of good players, whose game I used to watch on TV. And then they greet me and now we are together in the same team.

“The atmosphere and the training process were positive, a lot of jokes during warm-up, for example. And I think everyone saw a video where I played a song on a chair, as traditionally done by all newcomers – this is one of the positive moments that were in the team.”

The defender whose father is Nigerian and mother half Nigerian and half Russian went on to score in the game against Argentina after replacing Ola Aina.

Idowu described the occasion as the best moment of his career in the last two years.

He said: “Over the past two years, the goal for Nigeria, of course, is the brightest event for me because it came in my first match for the country.

“There were a lot of fans inside the stadium. When the ball flew into the goal, I did not even believe that I really managed to score on my debut.

”I was emotional after the game. Everyone was happy for me when I scored, and it’s nice.
