It's been a rough week for referee Ignacio Iglesias Villanueva, after infamously not awarding a clear goal to Lionel Messi at Estadio Mestalla on Sunday, he brought controversy to the Copa del Rey.

The referee indicated a penalty in favour of Espanyol due to an apparent handball by Tenerife player Jorge Saenz, but the act clearly took place outside the area.
The incident occurred in the 34th minute of Thursday's game when a shot from Alvaro Vazquez was blocked by the Tenerife player. The ball was clearly stopped by the arm, but at a considerable distance from the 18-yard line.
