Nigeria is still better than Ghana. We would have been much better if not for population... you can't compare Nigeria's population(one of the most populated countries in the world)to that of Ghana.

You know you should be comparing Ghana to VI Lagos.

So based on one location, one barney, one pure water, one meal, on hangout, one mall, you have easily concluded that Ghana is better than Nigeria?

You don't know how big Nigeria is; that is your problem. A whole Naija is what you are comparing to one locality in Ghana. Chai!

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip sha but before you can compare, you need to go round this our country first.
Spot on!

Good day Nigerians,

Its going to be a new year in a month time and i have always looked forward to a free time in a bid to share my experience in one of Africa's finest countries. GHANA.

Some Nigerians would not just make it in Nigeria (Perhaps the economy, environment, or your village people).
It is somewhat a statement of fact that Nigeria is a bit saturated. Wouldn't you rather move to a less saturated country?

Most especially when the structure in Ghana is more organized, the people are calmer, and you get good value for your cash in a security conscious environment.

So things are not working for you here, why not get into an ABC bus and jet off to Ghana?. abi ooo, if you cant make it to US, SA, UK at least Ghana is abroad. good one OP.

NOTE: Am not trying to encourage unplanned travel over here, am just asking you to move strategically. Maybe Ghana is waiting for you/

Ghana ko Ghana ni, I would rather travel to oyinbo land than staying in Africa, you showing us the beautiful place you con want make we relocate like that, that why many people fall victim of slave trade in Libya, make them show you some pictures of places in lekki and ajah and Victoria highland, banana highland if you won't also fall for nija, u better grown. am proud of my country oh.
I am also proud of Nigeria too.. But you are not getting the picture clearly.. One distinct uniqueness about ghana and 9ja is peace. There is peace in ghana.. There is law and order.. Nothing like hustle and bustle... No magomago... The serene is alot better.. With one naira or one cedi you can live in peace in ghana But in 9ja you need more money to get to live in peace... In nigeria, there is noise and air pollution but it is not like that in gh.. The air is fresh..

When I was schooling in gh, at night I smell cocoa all over and I was living in a city(kumasi) but when I come to Lagos for holiday, I smell generator fume.. This is bad.. Let us say the truth..

Nice. Op thanks for sharing.

Based on the pictures I have seen (including this one), Accra appears to be a much smaller city than most naija cities. But on the positive side, Accra is much cleaner and more organized. And I heard that the night life in Accra is top notch too tongue

What's the cost of transport from Lagos to Ghana through road and what are the documents required?

20. There's a church beside the hotel i stayed, on sunday while they were having there church service, i didn't hear a thing, i just saw people gushing out at the end of the service.

21. And social life is top notch, as they play life performance more that they use DJ's, you'd see a family go up to the stage to dance their sorrow away around 1am.e

22. There's always light and water, so its safe to walk around even at night.

Summarily, my opinion is that Ghana is generally a better place than Nigeria , The People are friendlier and it much safer to move around even at the local markets. The crime rate is better .Nigeria could have been easy as well but owing to its population and fierce competition.
You may notice even foreigners taking public transport in Ghana but that would be difficult in Nigeria.

When it comes to cost of living there is no big difference and one positive thing in Ghana it easy to save money by going local i.e Local foods,Local markets etc.

I would be visiting that country next year by God's grace...

that is becos your country jagajaga.. Have you traveled before? Have you been to haiti and Dominica republic? They are both on an island.. Dominican republic is a paradise but Haiti is hell.. Haitians travel to dominican rep alot and then come back to talk about how peaceful it is in Dominican... But how many Dominicans goes to haiti? A few.. And what is there to talk about haiti, none. Because haiti is scattered! That's how nigeria and ghana is... It is when you travel and see places then your mind becomes open.. You start to compare and contrast.

Hi.

can you please give a run down of some of the costs one might expect to incur?

Will a 500 usd (approx 200, 000 naira) budget be enough for one person?
sure.. But are you coming to live or holiday in ghana..

ghana is expensive , that bottle of coke the op posted is equivalent to about 200-250 naira
ghana is tough if you dont have money , even Ghanaian are crying , but with 500 dollars that is about 2000ghc +, it all depends on how long you wish to stay in accra . ghana isnt easy . the truth about traveling is , all what the op is saying is evident in almost all African countries , even in togo , so what the op is emphasizing isnt anything special , the most important thing is what opportunities the place you are going to offers you.

The way some Nigerians can hype any nonsense that isn't Nigerian is funny. The photos you posted here cannot beat most State capitals in Nigeria not to talk of Abuja, VI or Lekki. You had fun changing environment but I see nothing spectacular judging by your photos or maybe you missed the areas that look like Dubai or Capetown.
