It's not clear because the file I attached was not uploaded along with my message. Anyway, it is not an amendment per say because I have not submitted the form. After filling the Student/Exchange section, I can't move on to the next section - SEVIS due to an unknown application error below.

"Application Error
An unexpected error has occurred while processing your previous request. The error has been reported to the site administrator; no further action is required. To retrieve your DS-160 application, please enter your Application ID."

Even after entering my Application ID and refilling the segment, there was no difference.

I'm still wondering, why this Application error and what can be done to rectify it on time?

Hi guys,

I just got admitted (today) for Ms Applied Economics at St. Cloud State, Minnesota. I'm quite worried about the timing - is it too late to start processing my I-20 and Visa application? Orientation starts Jan 3. How long does it take to receive I-20 and get a visa appointment? I need your responses please.
Bro, checked your post from part 10, where you able to get any sort of funding from St cloud?

VO don't like it when they hear you know about a school online.
Tell them something personal.
You answers are not convincing at all.
Research more and give them something real.. You will be approved.

I hope dis reply is convincing to the VO oo, tanks in advance

Hope you're not one of those that argue on what they don't know or skip advise? Was it not last week I was advising someone here that an English language proficiency test is not a standardized test? A standardized test for an undergrad is SAT, which comprises of qualitative and verbal test. You don't have SAT, you don't have any ST. As per your question, that one place you fuucked up.

Is it best to answer the VO like this, tht the standardised test was waived for me as a result of my impressive essay but I also did a language standardised test which is toefl or ielts? Am going for MSC criminal justice, hope the answer is convincing enough. Tanks in advance

grin grin grin eerm Baa'mi how else do you expect majority of people to find out about the school, or do you assume that we must have all heard of school xyz from their alumni in Nigeria. there is nothing absolutely wrong in hearing about your school and doing extensive research online, that is the chief reason why serious schools make intense efforts to ensure that every single detail you need is right there in their web space; and contact details, if you just happen to want to dig deeper. In fact, it is when you do intensive research online that you come across better schools that may not be popular. On a last note, searching online is not restricted to google, usnews and their ranking counterparts; simply reading an open access journal and picking interest in the author of a paper you liked and following up with an email to the concerned faculty is another powerful way of doing online research.
EDIT: i just want to say this again, the sole reason why you have paid 64000NGN is not to tell the VO what they like, or give them brain orgasms grin, it is to affirm your DS160 , and access your eligibility for an F-1.

Most information about schools and Ranking are online.... i dont think this is an issue at all

Most cases it the whole package of the applicant. In some days it just not a lucky day that day

bros bros!!!.. the Admission committee does not have the right too waive any standardized test for anybody; and trust me, unless it's doctoral candidates or some ivies , adcoms are not exactly very thrilled to review applications and read through the grandiose delusion called admissions essay grin grin. so the story of impressive essay might set off another bomb in the VO's head, because
1. The essay might have been awesome to you, but theres no way of knowing if it was awesome to the adcom, knowing fully well that the only message you get from the school is an admission decision and not a nobel prize review of your essay grin grin.
2. Admission requirements are clearly stated and varies from school to school, and some schools do not require standardized tests for admission evaluation.

The question is what exactly did you find out about the school online? If you got your information purely based on US News rankings, then Harvard,Stanford,Princeton etc should be top of your list. There is always something more...affordability,ranking,funding,curriculum etc or even a combination of those. Think about that, and come up with a clear and concise way to express it!

Sure, you are very correct ma'am ..
But few applicants always find it hard making research about schools they streamlined on usnews.

Moreover, I actually saw 2 schools out of the 3 schools i applied to on usnews and i explained that to the VO and got my visa...

please am a little lost . I have lots of possible schools to apply to but am kind of confused. To prevent spending too much money on application fee, how do I write to schools to inquire if I can be accepted and if I will be given GA/funding. I mailed university of Houston over a month ago but they are yet to reply me.
I plan on pursing a msc in mechanical engineering for fall 2018, I have a GRE score of 305 (157 quant score), 3.95/5 (hopefully 3.5/4 after WES evaluation, as my evaluation is still in progress), my TOFEL is next month, am still preparing my SOP and I have no engineering based work experience.
dicapino, Icool, iekene, seeker88, walspring and other engineers, please which schools do I stand a chance at GA/funding with my profile or do I retake GRE
Please can anyone point me in the right way to go about this. Thank you

Finally house, I rewrote my GRE today with the help of Walspring discount and I score 318. quant 162, verbal 156. I also wrote TOEFL with the discounted promo too...May God bless baba Walspring and all who give help on this forum immensely. Thank u very much....am really grateful

I must say you sound intelligent and promising.

Check out these schools: North Carolina A and T University, University of Texas El Paso, Cleveland State University etc. You may stand a chance of funding in those schools. If you can, I strongly recommend that you consider going for MS in Information Technology especially if you intend to work in the US on completion of your study. Studying Mechanical Engineering is ok but the degree is not in high demand as Information Technology is.

3.95/5.00 would come out to be around 3.4/4.0. 3.5/4.0 translates to about 4.1/5.0 on our scale.
Good luck in your endeavors.

Oga Bigfrancis21, I took ur advice and am starting my application to University of Texas el paso, North Carolina A&T University, Arizona state University and East Tennessee state University tonight. I would still need ur help in the future...Thanks for the advice

Hi I was also given a yellow paper and the AP was also ticked but the VO collected my uncle's SOA as I had mine with me. Did they call your sponsor?

Oluiyke1984:
My transcript.
My interview was on the 8th of sept. 2017 at Abuja.
We left Ajah Lagos at about 8:45am 7th sept. and got to Abuja 7:45am, an hour 15mins to my interview, escaped 3 accident scenes.

Vo: good morning sir
Me: how r you, good morning dear
Vo: fine thank you, plz pass me your doc.
Me: passed my pee, SEVIS fee receipt and i20
Vo: where r you going?
Me: am going to California Miramar university and i stated the physical address, vo nodded and said good
Vo: for?
Me: my MBA and my program starting so so date, all through to so so date.
Vo: how did you get to know about the school?
Me: yeah, I got to know about the school from a facilitator when I went for a workshop at Lagos business school, this facilitator happens to be a professor and an alumni of the school.
I got him engaged and he told me a whole lot about the school. I made a further research, emailed Carol kulis the DSO to know the course outline, emailed Jim foster who's the operational officer to know the crime rate of the school and also the crime rate of San Diego, lastly, I emailed prof. Kimberly to confirm the details I got from those two.
Vo: who filled your ds-160?
Me: I did
Vo: ok, what will this MBA do for you and why MBA?
Me: it's a requirement for a managerial post in my company.
Aside the managerial skills am going to gain I will also gain leadership skill, these skills are very important and useful for growing my career more also it will prepare me to face the challenges involved in managing a firm and to understand the problem solving technologies in other to implement change. All these am going to get in CMU with the best global practices which can be modelled for use here when I come back to my country.
Vo: when did you graduate and what have you been doing since then.
Me: I graduated 2011, after my graduation I went for the compulsory NYSC for 1 year I then got a job at Snapshots studios, ( I told her my job discribtion) worked there for 2 years, then got a better job offer at so so coy where I am presently.
Vo: how much is your annual pay?
Me: 5,820,000 (485,000*12)
Vo: how many schools did you apply to
Me: 3
Vo: mention them sir
Me me mentioned them and told her all admitted me.
Vo: why CMU
Me: affordable same tuition fee regardless of international or domestic student, small class rooms offering high faculty student interaction, prof. Knows all students by their full names vo cuts in ok ok ok.
Vo: who's sponsoring you
Me: mentioned a company's name and told her it's a family business.
Vo: can I see your SOA?
Me: I only brought the doc. Ds-160 asked to bring (with confidence cos I no carry any doc go apart from my pee, SEVIS and i20)
Vo: your right but I need to be sure you will be able to pay for the school.
Me: I had it sent to the school and I believe the school would have done all necessary evaluation.
Vo: am going to issue you a yellow paper
Me: go ahead plz (cos I no want make she ask any other question cos i was carried away by the guy at the next window denied a guy and the guy come dey cry with abeg)

So I was issued a yellow paper and I was on AP, she checked school transcript on the yellow paper instead of SOA, I sent the transcript and a month later they emailed me to submit my SOA which I did. 2 weeks later my visa was issued.

For those on AP, no worries as long as your doc. Is genuine.

Biggggggg thanx to this thread. Mama of Lagos, e pe fun wa. Thanx to all.
How you fill your ds-160 maters.
