OkaiCorne:Hmmmm. Na waoo. When God Chose Levi to continue the ordinance of Tithe taking, did he specify who should pay and who shd not? Are they half children and full Children of God? Obedience hard oooo. Tithe paying is just a mark of obedience o. just obedience. Man is till stuck inside Eden with the forbidden fruit held tightly in his right hand. It's well o. |

OkaiCorne:See, the things of the scriptures should not be treated as "economics" where u have a scale of preference, opportunity costs/ forgone alternative.... You don't forgo one to do the other... To do list ke... In matters of the scriptures Well, you've said it before that you're not a Christian.... That's why you are trying to use common sense/human understanding to understand the things of the spirit... It's not done that way.... That was how you asked me before if God will bring down ladder from Heaven to collect tithes(Do you ask the same question about offerings??)... |

OkaiCorne:Your question sounds like 'Is obedience to God, your number one priority in life? Obedience to God's instruction in all it's facets should be every Christian's no 1 priority in Life, except you are not his servant. Every of his ways, you don't some and leave some. You are now by yourself placing priority on what you deem necessary. Stewards don't act as you do. It's just like God healing you of an ailment, He expects that you return with thanksgiving to him, failure to do so, it's taken for pride. God gave you power to make wealth, you have 100naira as profit, and he says return back 10 naira to him, see all the grammar and logic you are employing just to keep 10naira. But you expects for him to keep giving you o. Na wa for man o. We dey here dey blame Adam. non of us better pass Adam. We are worst. |

OkaiCorne:Its about disobedience not money. Satan wants to keep the Church where he wants it, hence, the attack through his servants. How will the church run without money? Did Jesus have a purse for money? Did they need money for administration? |

analize701: Tithing did not start with the law, and tithing is not going to end after the Law but; 1) Is tithing 10% of your income, or there are more laid out requirements on what it is, and how it should be paid? If yes, why are we disobeying God by paying it in monetary format? 2) Do you know that something better in the new covenant has replaced tithing, just as animal sacrifices have been replaced? In addition to these questions, kindly answer the ones I've asked before. THANK YOU I can refresh your memory in case you have forgotten. |

analize701: The first thing I need you to understand is that God is not limited to money. God given talents when utilized, attracts money. Now are you telling me the people called to serve at the altar are barren trees that can bear no fruits? |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by analize701: 10:11pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
OkaiCorne:I think you have a problem with HOW you read the Bible. What that says is that, WHERE MAN DEY WORK, NA THERE HIM GO CHOP. No one is talking about God being about money here, the bone of contention here is doing what God demands, OBEDIENCE. |

OkaiCorne:Pls, what is an income? first. You replaced the something in the place. of Tithe or Jesus did? |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:15pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
Jesusgirl92: See, this life is arithmetics, let's not turn it to further maths. If you go to the market with a long to do list of things to purchase and you have limited money...can you buy everything with your limited resources? You go for what is critical and "weightier" first! This thing is not too difficult to understand na |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by Jesusgirl92(f): 10:18pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
OkaiCorne:so you've likened God's command to going to the market with limited resources .... Bros, bros... You try. |

analize701: And you that has the Spirit of Obedience working in you. I guess tithing has more importance than giving to the needy as explained by Jesus right? In your mind, you'd rather ignore a starving orphan and pay "tithes" to the church...then you really think you have Loved God with all your hear, and you have loved your neighbor as yourself? Do you recall when Jesus said that many will come claiming they have done things in His name, but because they never fed the hungry, gave water to the thirsty or catered for the needs of the sick...that Jesus said He knows them not? Will you claim to love God and leave your neighbor dying while you pay "tithes" instead? Tithes that is paid in a manner that has no scriptural backing? (i.e. monetary tithes) |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:21pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
Jesusgirl92: Weightier matters should be given more priorities... it's common sense my dear. When these matters are dealt with, those of lesser importance can then be considered. By the way, did God need tithes to create Heaven and Earth and everything in it? |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by Jesusgirl92(f): 10:22pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
So you want to choose the one to obey at the expense of the other shebi.... OkaiCorne, is that how you serve God?? You do selective obedience?? |

Jesusgirl92: I'd rather give to the needy as Jesus authorized his followers to do. I think you prefer being manipulated into doing what is wrong abi? Because you are paying 10% of your salary...in your mind you are obeying God by "tithing" abi? |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:24pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
Jesusgirl92: 1) Is God limited to money? 2) Did God use tithes to create Heaven and Earth? 3) Will the Church shut down if people refuse to pay tithes and offerings? |

Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:29pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
analize701: I am not against giving to the work of God, but manipulating people to do so by deceiving them into thinking they are paying "tithes" is the EVIL I am addressing here! If Martin Luther had not broken out of the Catholic church...it is your type that would think it is perfectly normal to pay money (penance) for the forgiveness of your sins...since this is a tradition you would have been born into... Wake up and smell the TRUTH! 1 Like |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:31pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
Jesusgirl92: But the actions of the tithers and anti-tithers gives me that impression. Infact, Jesus requires your all...not a mere 10%. If money is not the focus, then why are we really having these tithe and ant-tithe fights Do you really think the Church of Christ will shut down because there is no money? Who is really fooling whom? God whom you call Jehovah Jireh...that can provide for your needs even out of nothing, the same God who could feed a stranded prophet with ravens, or bless the widow and multiply her oil, or could give Jesus a coin through the mouth of a fish to pay taxes, or multiply fishes and loaves of bread to feed over 5,000 people or even answer and exceed all the monetary needs of my mother the very same day I and her paid a visit to an orphanage to celebrate my birthday. It is that same God you think desperately needs tithes for His Church to function abi? |

Jesusgirl92: What has been guiding me all these while if I might ask? And if God is truly not limited to money...then why all these tithe and anti-tithe fights if people have not replaced the power of God with the power of money in the church? Do you know how irritating this is to God? |

Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:41pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
Jesusgirl92: Exactly! When I'm into large scale farming...I can then do the less important tithing as stipulated in the scriptures. It may not be weighty in the new covenant requirement, but it is still an eternal principle that will work forever... Till then, nobody can tell me to pay tithe with money...when the scriptures cannot support that. I will gladly flood the church with foodstuffs that everyone would eat to stupor...that is kind of the tithe I dream of paying... |
Re: Should I, As A Christian Pay Tithe? by OkaiCorne(m): 10:42pm On Dec 01, 2017 |
