First I want to state that this is not about any political party because I am apolitical.

However, this afternoon I was going through Vanguard online for any newsworthy article and one caption caught my attention.

It is "Otuaro Remains My Running Mate In 2019—Gov. Okowa".

Here is an excerpts:

Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa says his Deputy, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, who he held out as “reliable since inception in 2015, remains my running mate in my 2019 re-election bid”.

Now what baffled me is that for a long time I have not heard any tangible news about Delta state. But the first news I am seeing in a long time is about 2019 election even when the governor is yet to complete his first tenure.

For all his performance in Lagos I have not heard or read about Ambode talking about 2019.

What is happening in Delta state? Why are there no news of any development both good or controversial?

Is it that the government is not doing anything newsworthy or is it that the media is biased to report the development taking place in Delta?

Dem dey talk say Warri no dey carry last, but this one whey we dey, he be like say dey near back pass front oh.

What's your take on this, or are my missing something?

In 2015 there was a consensus amongst my people, that regardless of how badly the PDP performed, the other "Islamic" party would never be allowed to smell the state office.

I guess it shouldn't bother Deltans. We have accepted the shortcomings of our darling party which must have no rival.

Come 2019, we would thumb print for the PDP again.
Should Know a slump and die, we would wait for Ibori to anoint a successor because he has done well for Delta state.

5 and a half more years to go for Okowa.

It's a state where the people don't demand accountability from their government

They've accepted the fact that no other governor should surpass or try to outshine Ibori in performance and achievements in Delta State.
Just loot as much as you can as 2019 will require a very huge war chest
