I was shocked too. This thread open my eyes well well. Ndigbo are wonderful people.

My brother, I became exposed to the poverty level in Yoruba land when I was in osun on official assignment for one month. I did a documentary on it here, but thread got lost after NL was hacked.

I saw wretchedness and poverty manifestation in Osun. Brown roof and mud houses were competing among themselves in all the rural rustic "towns" I visited. I started asking if these ppl don't have shame? I mean their young ones in d city don't come home to build decent house for their parents? I observed that nobody ventures into long span roofing sheet and house paints in that state as those that tried witnessed low patronage. This ppl still use zinc in this age and time. The few block buildings there are not painted.

Places like omifunfun, lagere, sekona, owode, ede, oke egan, ifetedo, oloruntele, ipetumode, sekunde, gbadagesi, Ilesha, Moro, parakin ife, okerembete, oke dio, ayetoro. Etc . I can still picture these slums . it was a night mare. At d end of each day assignment, I will travel all the way to Oshogbo to have a near decent hotel accommodation.

From what I observed, if u build decent house in the west, their witches will kill you. Most of them don't think of building rather owambe and expensive wedding where they wear babylace and dance.

Another incident was when my boss in my former office lost his dad and we followed him to ogbomosho, o boy I shame for d man, the family house was a mud house, that my boss has to entertain us in an open field with canopies. Imagine a big man like my boss has no house in his village but he would wear d biggest parachute agbada in every occasion spraying money in Lagos.

I wept for Yoruba's after these two events anytime I see them bragging about Lagos. An Igbo man that has bungallow Lagos definitely has a mansion in his village #fact, so when next you lots want to brag, show us what u have in ur various states.

1. [s]The south west and south east are third world communities, so it defeats the purpose of dick measuring based on development to start with.

This is why I like igbos. They don't pretend that all is well when it is not. Igbos always openly criticize themselves without shame. And this is the main reason why they are making rapid progress and developing.

Yorubas on the other hand like to lie and hide their problems by using media propaganda. They think that they are helping themselves by doing it but not realizing the massive damage that it does to their future. I hope they change their attitude but I doubt.

Blue3k:
The most interesting thing about this study shows NW is still more impovished than North east. Borno in spite of Boko Haram still in better position than many states in northern region. Yobe is missing from list.

Poverty rate by geopolitical region:
SW- 19.33%
SS- 25.22%
SE- 27.36%
NC- 42.53%
NE- 76.04%
NW- 80.96%

Source: http://www.dataforall.org/dashboard/ophi/index.php/mpi/download_brief_files/NGAive

Ps: Do you guys find it interesting people from SE always bitter about statistics calling it fake. They won't debunk it the just go on emotional rants. Can you believe a .3% difference between Osun and Anambra would bother them so much. Oxford and UN are Liars in their mind suddenly.

1. I was referring to both parties, not any zone in particular so enough of the stale blackmail and disinfect your biase.

2. Suicide mission you said? Always an excuse for been a coward. Awolowo not only reneged secession but decided to use it as any opportunity to attack and decimate the Igbos both physically and economically. Well....he almost succeeded cheesy but he DIDN'T. He died a pathetic suicide rat drinker.

3. When they say go to school, you stop over at ile-ise ewedu jakande school. Ikeja percentage refers to the industrial cluster in Ikeja as well as multiple cash flow from taxes directed to alausa Ikeja.

Industries are only a PART of economic activites in lagos. Who dosent know that even the big industries in Ikeja are partly owned and in some cases, run by Igbo? Or do you want me to list them for you? Keep bringing your oluwole interpretations. Industries are only a PART, NOT ALL of an economic activity.

Dumbo read my fully edited post. Manufacturing industries are only A PART of economic activities in Lagos. Telecom, banking, textile, confectionery, educational, health, and entertainment industries make up most of Lagos economic activities.

That said, there are some manufacturing industries either owned or managed by igbos in several scales (small, medium and large scale) in ikeja Lagos.

It goes to Ikeja of course, that is why I said there are either Igbo owned or managed industries at Ikeja. You were denying that initially, STOP trying to save face.
