Humility017:Martins may still have that quality tho. There's no big deal, he would be invited(l believe) and then given the chance to prove himself. There's a saying that form is temporary but class is permanent, so we may never know when it comes to Martins. 1 Like 1 Share |

Humility017:That team with the likes of Echebo, Ruben Gabriel and Agbim was whack. But come to think of it don't you think if Martins gives good account of himself (already the technical crew are aware of his performance in China) he won't be a bad addition. I know your position regarding his recall but would you mind giving it a second thought if he is in good form leading to the WC and considering that we have a need to fill in the CF position. |

Ndidi Stars, Iheanacho Benched In Leicester Victory; Liverpool, Stoke, Everton Win Peter Oriaku By Johnny Edward: Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made his 15th English Premier League start for Leicester City this season as they recorded a 1-0 win over Burnley at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Demarai Gray gave Leicester City the win with a sixth minute goal, poking in Riyad Mahrez’s cross-from the right flank. It was Gray’s second goal of the season in his 15th appearance. The game was Ndidi’s 32nd EPL start for the club since he joined last January from Genk. Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute in the encounter. Iheanacho has made two starts and seven substitute appearances for the Foxes this season. As usual, Ahmed Musa was not in the matchday squad. The win was the Foxes’ fifth of the campaign. At the Amex Stadium, Liverpool defeated Brighton 5-1. Two goals in 79 seconds from Emre Can and Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool a 2-0 half time lead after a dominant display. Can scored first with a thumping header from a Phillipe Coutinho cross in the 30th minute before Firmino finished off a blistering counter attack. Firmino made it 3-0 two minutes after the restart but Glenn Murray pulled one back from the spot for Brighton after he was fouled by Jordan Henderson. Coutinho made it 4-1 five minutes from time, firing in a low free-kick before an own-goal from Lewis Dunk sealed an emphatic win for Liverpool ahead of the Merseyside derby next week. It was Liverpool’s fifth win in six EPL games this season. At the Bet365 Stadium, Stoke came from a goal down to defeat Swansea 2-1. Wilfred Bony bagged the opener for Swansea with a lovely first-time volley beyond Jack Butland in goal for Stoke City off a cross from Martin Olsson. Stoke levelled scores in the 36th minute through Xherdan Shaqiri. The Potters went ahead for the first time four minutes later through Biram Diouf who fired in Peter Crouch’s knock-on pass in the box. The defeat was Swansea’s 10th of the season as they dropped to 20th in the log after they suffered their sixth loss in seven EPL games. At Vicarage Road, Nigerian forward Isaac Success was not included in Watford’s squad that played out a 1-1 draw at home with 10-man Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Belgian defender Christian Kabasele scored his first goal for the club heading in a Tom Cleverley corner in the 13th minute but Heung-Min Son restored parity in the 25th minute, tapping in Christian Erickson’s cross. Abdoulaye Doucoure could have made it 2-1 in the 56th minute but his 30 yards strike cannoned off the the post. The draw means Tottenham are without a win in their last four league games. At Goodison Park Sam Allardyce began his reign as Everton manager with a 2-0 home win over Huddersfield Town. After a dull first half, Gylfi Sigurdsson struck 90 seconds into the second half from close range to bag his second goal in three games for the Toffees, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin secured the points after tucking away Wayne Rooney’s pass in the 73rd minute. The win moved Everton to 10th in the EPL table. Also at the Hawthorns, Alan Pardew kicked off his career as manager of West Brom with a goalless draw at home to over his former team Crystal Palace. ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE RESULTS FOR MATCH DAY 15 Chelsea 3 – 1 Newcastle United Brighton & Hove Albion 1 – 5 Liverpool Everton 2 – 0 Huddersfield Town Leicester City 1 – 0 Burnley Stoke City 2 – 1 Swansea City Watford 1 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur West Bromwich Albion 0 – 0 Crystal Palace https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/ndidi-stars-iheanacho-benched-leicester-victory-liverpool-stoke-everton-win/amp/ 1 Like |

Daejoyoung:Ogu was biting his fingers (abi boot) waiting for his opportunity. When it came he didn't allow the fact that he was just recovering from injury affect his game, he didn't allow bad pitch to do him in. Against Argentina he played with determination. If he's fit I see him on the plane to Russia. He's earned it. 8 Likes |

Guys there's nothing to fear about this Croatia national team. I think we'll beat them easy. This is NOT the 1998 Croatia national team. This current team has big names but they were so piss poor that they needed a playoff to qualify for the World Cup. And they were so poor that they have to fire their coach before the Euro playoff. Hence, the new coach, even if he's good, won't have enough time to actually knows his best team before the World Cup proper. So if you ask me, the World Cup is coming 6 months too early for them. Iceland: This isn't the same Iceland team that surprised everyone at the Euro nations cup last year. I watched a few of their qualifiers, they are good but the current Super Eagles team would beat them handily. gosh, even at the best, we could've beaten them. England was just so piss poor to lose to them. There's nothing special about Iceland, really. Once we qualify for the round of 16, watch as we take France apart. Mark my words! Bro, some of them are so obviously biased that it makes my blood boil. Someone like Ian Darke for instance didn't even pick any African country to come out of any of the groups. Not even Egypt and Senegal! Practically everyone on the panel predicted Senegal to top their group, with majority forecasting Egypt and Nigeria to come thru as well but not Ian Darke! But I really like that Italian journo sha. He actually forecasted that France vs Nigeria is going to be an interesting game. He said that he wouldn't be surprised if Nigeria wins that game. And he also predicted Morocco to upset Portugal in group B O pari junnyjake: 2 Likes |

Obagoal is definitely going to get a look in by March provided his village people don't come knocking by giving him injury But wait o... I just can't believe all the video am seeing around with Martins scoring up and down even not only here even on twitter and IG... Some players self dey pull the video forward... My question... Where re these videos during qualifiers? Is because we qualified for WC.? Definitely Martins get strong hold with massive influence and it is really working for him.. If he made 23 man list is gonna be painful cos his reaping where he did not sow... But his inclusion won't bad either with his current form, just hope he maintains it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

2018 World Cup: Nigeria media man Toyin Ibitoye feels the cold in outrageous hat at draw Toyin Ibitoye stood out from the dignitaries at the draw in Russia 2018 IT was around 37 degrees Celsius in the Nigerian capital of Abuja when the World Cup draw took place. And it left Nigeria's media officer Toyin Ibitoye feeling the bite of a Russian winter at ZERO degrees Celsius in Moscow. The sports media personality was pictured arriving at the State Cremlin Palace for World Cup 2018 draw wearing an outrageous furry hat. Replying to a Tweet with a the picture, Ibitoye said: "Ol' boy, it was drizzling snow." The draw threw up a nightmare group for the Super Eagles. They will face Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in Group D throughout an 11-day period in June. Although the cities of Kaliningrad, Volgograd and Saint Petersburg should be around 20 degrees warmer by June. It is the FIFTH time in just six World Cups that Nigeria have qualified for that tthey have been drawn against Argentina in the group stage. And they have incredibly been drawn against each other in each the last THREE World Cups. The Super Eagles will be hoping for a change of fortune at Russia 2018. They have lost the last four World Cup games between the sides. http://mobile.ghanasoccernet.com/2018-world-cup-nigeria-media-man-toyin-ibitoye-feels-the-cold-in-outrageous-hat-at-draw |

safarigirl:Dicey. I will reluctantly take Henry based on sentiments. He has massive confidence for his age. I like his courage. For Wing plays, he may perform more than Obagoal. But I don't think Rohr likes him. It's a surprise to me. A case for Obafemi though. At Henry's age, he was bossing in the Champions League. I can never forget how he messed up Maldini and Nesta that year at the San Siro. Maldini said he was the most difficult player he ever encountered. If Henry is taken, it will be as a winger, while Obagoal will be as a top striker. So they are probably not fighting for the same spot. 11 Likes 1 Share |
