Hahahahaha

Visited that forum and just found out that the Croats are quite arrogant and cocky. They genuinely believe they are favorite to win the group and are already making plans for the round of 16.

One of the posters opined that Croatian players would be 7 steps ahead of Nigerian players. Dude thinks the Nigerian team is a typical African team that is lacking in technical know how of the game.

In all, after visiting that site, it will feel great if we smash the Croats.

Well, they say that because most West African teams are highly predictable by European teams. They tend not to be well organise in possession & without it. They rely mostly on certain players skills- who probably will be showboating & tend to lose their discipline once they start conceding goals.

Fans will always be fans. They think they can top the group and thrash Nigeria.

The Argentines also think they will get full points, considering Messi was not available for our friendly with them.

That's exactly what the Iceland fans will also be thinking. 6points at the least.

And here, we think we have the best chance at qualification.

Another Croatia comments

We’ll move the ball on Nigeria . African countries hate playing us- we move the ball and get a lead and frustrate them – they ‘ll take stupid fowls and get red-carded- I see that game already
Iceland -they won’t be a surprise to us- we’ll be ready for them-they do it all thru hustle but they haven’t seen a stage like this-they’ll be peeing ice pellets
Argentia -totally overrated- Messi and the nobodies- we got lucky – I like this group- thank god it’s not Mexico or Australia -we can’t beat those guys for some reason.

Nigeria is the youngest team in the tournament as per their fabricated birth certificates, lol.
Those guys are all probably 30.
probably the last time this dude watched an African team was at Italia '90,Cameroon vs Brazil or so,and for him that's his yardstick for all African team, including NIGERIA,i wish their coach will have this kind of mindset going for the game

If you are playing Nigeria in the WC, which African side will you select for a friendly?

I do not think any African side plays like us at the moment.

Moses cannot be a waste in the WB role. Sorry to say, but Moses may not really replicate the kind of havoc that he causes against African teams when playing against some world cup teams with sturdy defenses. The teams with well drilled defenses can easily device means to neutralize his advances. we saw that in the last world cup as he couldn't really offer much as an offensive player. He even resorted to playing as a defensive player in the game against France. To penetrate sturdy defenses in the world cup, you need quick incisive passes that the combination of Mikel, Iwobi and Iheanacho are currently offering. If the coach really wants to make the most out of Moses, he should be played as a wing back. And who says he can't cause havoc as a wing back? Go and watch Chelsea's match yesterday. He had an assist and earned his team a penalty. He also was found in goal scoring positions and came close to scoring but no thanks to the goalkeeper. If he could do all these when going forward as a wing back for Chelsea, what about how he will perform for Nigeria where he is given more freedom to express himself?

In addition, his defensive cover has been impressive. Chelsea conceded only a goal yesterday from Alonso's mistake in the defense. If Moses can replicate his Chelsea form as a wing back for Nigeria or better, that will be a great plus for the team.

Martins? Ok! Been part of the fold, so well deserve if he gets a call. But Obgeche? Boy!!! Wish I can really punch folks here.
How about Rufai and Aghahowa? Filty agents.
What is your point. Rufai and Aghahowa are retired and are not posting any eye-catching performance. Should we drop our best prospect because he's not been part of the fold? What makes him different from Martins?

I disagree. Moses plays with a hand-brake when he plays for his club. He plays with more freedom for Nigeria. Some of his selfish moves for Nigeria will not be appreciated at club level. He is much more valuable for Nigeria in a forward role.

I will play Senegal. They have good players. They are physical like Nigeria.

The friendly we had last time shows they have the talent to match us, all things being equal.

Yeah. That's the issue for our World Cup rivals; Nigeria play very differently from other African countries. We have an almost equal blend of technique and physicality unlike other African countries that tend to be far more physical and much less technical. That said, I think Ivory Coast and Ghana are the closest to our style.

Dude your reasoning lacks logic.
So when has being part of the fold or not become a requisite for a call up?
Do me a favor. Punch yourself

What you mean? Croatia pummeled CMR just as recently as last WC in 2014. So I bet maybe that's why they feeling pumped up. Well in our defence we also beat Bosnia in 2014. That game would be one of the best group games in Russia. Also another good game I'm looking forward to is the Morocco vs Portugal game that would be one hell of a game.

Ivory coast that played in the qualifiers had no style of play.

You are right. I actually stated that he is given more freedom to express himself in my post. But my point is, his “selfish play” and the fact that sometimes he doesn't release the ball on time may result to the teams undoing. How did Nigeria penetrate the Argentine defense? quick incisive passes! Playing a selfish football may not help. We saw how Nigeria lost some good chances because Iheanacho decided to play selfishly in those moments. Selfish football may not do you much good against well drilled defenses. My point is, Moses will also do better playing as a wing back for Nigeria because of the freedom he will enjoy in that role than for his club.

An important element of our style of play in recent times is the speed of our transitions/counters. Moses is an important part of that. Putting him as a wing back could affect his ability to support quick counters. Wing backs often play as right backs when defending.

i thinks I like this....

should we go wit one striker upfront...in the case of 4-4-1-1 perse...I will prefer we go wit ighalo being that he is not only good with his foot but his head also...
he has a reasonable height....that can be an advantage also.

Rohr wants unpredictability in his strikers upfront. The game against Argentina was the first time we'd play without a true 9. Opposition might understudy Ighalo but might meet the shock of their lives when they see KC and Iwobi or VicMo and Moses Simon.
If things goes to plan I think Nigeria would be one of the teams to beat at the WC. Depending on some games we won't play a natural 9 especially against Croatia.
