Una think say na only Naija get sense abi?

You for pay na?

They use small price to draw ur attention, and hit you hard once in.

That said, you should at least know if your car drives smooth or you're confident in the state of the car coz safety is paramount.
You don't wanna be matching 110km/hr when the car stall.

You mustn't fix everything but the critical issues listed and plan the rest for later,
Or probably sell and buy another.

That's if you suspect something is wrong with the car; otherwise no stress!

Vinsmuft:

Yes you are right. The deal I got serviced my car very cheap but then printed a report of $1,200 shocked. They said that my timing belt was due for replacement. I bought the car for $4,500 and want to use $1,200 to change timing belt? I pick race my guy

Pls I need advise o. I tried opening a NAB classic account from naija and experienced issues because they asked for phone no and I was putting +234...Apparently they expect the no to be an aussie no. Any ideas on what to do pls? Or do I try another bank? Any referrals with good testimonies?

Same happened to us as well as we plan to transfer our money there before leaving Nigeria. But I'm guessing we will just wait till we arrive. If you ever find a way, please let me know will you? Thank you.

I believe on every bank's website, there will be an account for migrants. I don't know what NAB calls theirs.

You can open account prior to arrival if you choose the right account. I opened an account before I arrived.

There are so many platforms for money transfer including using bank for wire transfer to domiciliary accounts.

@Oknee,

Worldremit's price is not competitive.

In addition to the link Alphadoor posted, I used this

https://www.nationalaustraliabank.com/nabglobal/migrant

When you click "Apply" it opens the same form >>

https://www.nationalaustraliabank.com/australian-account

I have since completed my account opening using my Nigerian address and phone number (no money to send yet cheesy ). It was a smooth process. Your account number is sent to you via email in about 24-48 hours. You'll also be sent your internet log in details via a seperate email (for security reasons) another 24 hours after.
Read the instructions on the PDF attachment containing your acct details carefully.

I worried about that for a while until I reasoned I could always open with another bank if not satisfied. However, I considered factors such as the branch network, ATM distribution, charges etc Individual preferences is the determinant jare. Same way some of us won't give up our GT for any other bank despite their 'funny' charges.
Personally, I'd suggest NAB for now (or rather, I went for NAB). You can always open another.

Care jobs pay very well. The Australian govt has invested heavily into caring for the disabled through a scheme known as NDIS. I know a naija guy here in Melbourne who does disability care full-time (i.e. Mon-Sun) and is raking in money. This is someone who has his PhD in a biological science shocked. I was told that Disability care is even more lucrative than Nursing and less stressful. One can get paid betw $30-35/hr on weekdays and as much as $40-50/hr on Sundays and pub holidays. One would need to do a Certificate IV course on disability but because there is a high demand for these workers (speaking from a Melbourne perspective), some agencies such as OnCALL are willing to give you a short 4-day training to get you working sharply. I have attended this training (as well as bolaobby) and I have started getting shifts though only on weekends as I have my regular 9-5 infotech job on weekdays. Infact the agency keeps calling me to accept shifts on weekdays which I have repeatedly turned down.

Most of the mechanics say timing belt is due for replacement every 100,000 kms. The reading as at the last time it was replaced is usually written on the timing belt cover. However, most people dont do it and just keep driving the car like that. Although $1200 is a bit on the high side especially considering how much you bought it.
