Why Is Glo SIM Replacement This Tortuous by SESknowledge: 4:53pm On Dec 03, 2017 |
Sometimes in October, I lost my Glo SIM card in an unfortunate circumstance. Few days later, I approached the Abeokuta Gloworld Office with the necessary items for replacement. Alas, I was told that the network for replacement isn't available and that I should return the following week. Exactly a week after, I had a chat with one of their agents who confirmed to me that the network is available and that I should proceed to the same office. To be double sure, I also called 121 to lay the same complaint and the agent also confirmed that the network is available. You can therefore imagine my consternation when I got to the Gloworld Office and was told that there are no SIM cards available for replacement and that I should return later ( with no specific day) Damn! How could something as little as SIM card replacement now become this daunting for Glo? I have a contact who works very close to this office and anytime he visits to inquire about the availability of replacement SIM cards on my behalf, the response has always been negative.(The last time was last week Thursday ) This is December and I can't imagine what emotional stress I could have been subjected to since late October, if not because I have another SIM well known to most of my contacts. I need to know if it is possible for me to port to another network without physically presenting the old SIM. |

Your heading is misleading probably you needed an attention. The issue you had relates to glo office in Ogun state probably you should have tried another state or better still opt in or port to another network. If peradventure there network comes up,make sure you have at least N1000 for sim replacement |

Your line is not active so you can't port because you need to send the porting sms from the donor network. You should try another office |

asuustrike2009: 1. Needed attention? Hell No! 2. Try another state? Maybe when I have very much important things to do in that other state but definitely not because of Glo SIM replacement that I should normally be able to do at the comfort of my room 3. Port to another network? Very well. I won't hesitate to do that if it is possible in this case. |

GrandMufti: The line is still active as I recharge it recently through VTU, to auto-renew my data which I still have access to, through one of the SIMs I share the data with. In this case can I still port to another network? |

SESknowledge: You line is not active meaning there is no network or switched off. You need to send a porting sms from the sim. So it's not possible |

GrandMufti: Alright. Thank you. I guess I'll remain at their mercy until they decide to mark SIM cards available for replacement. |

SESknowledge:Attention needed ? Yes because it drew many to it even though the topic was misleading Port to another network? Yes that's the available option if you insist on retaining that line Try another state? Yes like lagos |

GrandMufti: I had a chat with a customer care agent of 9mobile about the possibility of porting without physically presenting the SIM. Look what I got

You might want to point it out. Thank you. I ain't going to Lagos or any other state just because of SIM replacement most especially now that I have confirmed that I can port without presenting the lost SIM. Thank you also |

Did they ask you for Court affidavit? |
Re: Why Is Glo SIM Replacement This Tortuous by GrandMufti: 1:57pm On Dec 04, 2017 |
SESknowledge: You need to send 'PORTING' to 3232. And after that, you'll receive a confirmation sms. Then another sms asking you to insert you new sim. You'll need to do all these from your current line. And the porting will fail if your phone is switched off. How 9mobile intends to do this is baffling. Anyways Goodluck |
