If only, a keeper's competence was decided by 1 game.

In the first team as 3rd choice, playing no games?

Do you know how many goals, Alampasu conceded? He was even dropped to the bench in a division 3 club.

Oooooh! I see. How many games did you see that made you decided the competency of Uzoho? 200 matches?

Can you give me prove and stop the epistles, pls?

No, ahead does not mean better
Ahead means ahead.
So all those still arguing with me pay attention to the word.
If you are not playing you are behind.
Until Enyema starts playing he remains behind.

Kog45:
I want to ask a question is Enyeama out of contract with Lille.

What did Rohr say about Uzoho in comparison...?

TheGoodJoe:

Uzoho had the opportunity due to the exposure of the limitations of Ezenwa and Akpeyi. When Akpeyi faltered, Ezenwa got the chance. Unfortunately, when Ezenwa faltered, Alampasu was not invited and Uzoho was there. Ironically, the coaching crew opted for Akpeyi again. This will tell you it was not all about quality but trying to keep the older keepers in goal.

When Akpeyi faltered again, Uzoho got the nod and the difference was clear. If Alampasu was on the bench when these happened, he would have gotten the nod.

Not that he was not good enough.

whats Dele’s club again? I’ve not been following him

Kog45:
Pls is Dele Aiyenugba not a Nigerian who is super regular in Isreali league coz you said only Enyeama.

Ok my bad. But Rohr remarks then and now still buttresses my point that Uzoho is ahead in the scheme of things in SE

junnyjake:

Alampasu featured in one of the friendlies back then now. It should be against Senegal.

I use to prefer Martins then to Yakubu cause I felt he was better. I was always surprised when Yakubu starts ahead of him. But since I turned full Super Eagles fan, the nigga haven't really impressed me. Who said Keshi never gave nigga a chance. I watched that match against Kenya. It took Oduamadi to save us from defeat at home. I watched him helped (was it Birmingham) win league cup and I wondered why he has never really impressed me in the National team.
Aside these perceptions, Martins is Short and looking not cool. And forgiveness likes him and I don't see him benching anyone even if invited...
Rohr would invite him
He will not make the final squad
Sir Forgiveness and komekn would bring up conspiracy theories
Sir Mickael2 will discredit the teams achievement
I will be at home laughing at them

I honestly don't know why he didn't make the 2014 World Cup team. But facts are facts, he was tried out and didn't make the team. But to be honest with you, I was actually surprised that he missed the cut in 2014 because I knew that Martins was having an MVP season at Seattle. But, for whatever reason, Keshi felt that the likes of Shola Ameobi, Michael Uchebo, and Uche Nwofor were better than him. But he would have definitely made my 2014 World Cup team, if I were making the cut.

But now, my case against Martins is that:
First, he's simply not better than the players we currently have in the team. I frankly don't see whom he could replace in the current team.
Secondly, he's way too old for us to waste a world cup slot on him. Since we are in rebuilding mode, any vacant slots should go to young players (Osihmen, Onyekuru, Kayode, etc).
Third, Martins isn't playing in a competitive league any more so his stats might not tell the whole story. Yes, numbers can actually lie. Scoring 10 goals in the Chinese league isn't the same thing as scoring 10 goals in EPL.
Fourthly, if Martins is so indispensable to the team, why didn't these folks clamoring for his recall made this case during the qualifiers? Now that we've qualified, all of a sudden we remember that we don't have a team without Obafemi Martins. Are you kidding me

O pari

Late Keshi destroyed our national team with his mediocre ways of selecting players. EOD

First of all, which striker is better than Martins in that team? Pls, list them.

Secondly, you can't discard an inform player for young player struggling for form based on age. It doesn't work in football.

Thirdly, are Ighalo and Mikel playing in competitive league?

Fourthly, Martins played two qualifiers matches hence contributed to the qualification to the WC. Gbam!

In 10 games, Uzoho has 7 clean sheets

Alampasu had no clean sheet in his first 5 games in the portuguese division 3.

But Martins failed to impress while he was given his chance under Keshi. Those mediocre players were even more impressive... I could remember Dike and Ameobi made me change my mind. Na only the midfield wonder me... Martins sef ain't no midfielder.

So, Fc Porto is a useless club compared with Girona, ba?

Alampasu has demonstrated he is better when he kept cleansheet against fc Porto.

Now, he is a first team member and not a reserve keeper trading his mark in a third division league.

The way u keep talking about just that Porto game self, don't forget it was a cup game and most top clubs even use fringe players when playing against lowly ranked teams in cup games.
Uzoho also didn't concede against ARGENTINA in the 45mins he was between the sticks lipsrsealed

The best has not always been preferred in Nigeria national team.

Can you explain why Martins who was capped in 2004 has only 40 caps while Mikel and Ahmed who were capped in 2006 and 2010 has 82 and 63 caps.

Martins who was capped in 2004 has 40 capps and he is the 5th highest goal scorer with 18 goals for the national team. He is just behind Yakubu and Ike Uche who are the third and fourth with 21and 19 goals and had been capped more than him with 58 and 46 caps.

As you can see Martins statistics is better than the aforementioned players.

Reports had it that Alampasu was the best in camp over Akpeyi and others. Repeatedly, most journalists who followed the training processes pointed Alampasu was better. With what we have seen so far, it seems Alampasu was really better.

Then the Foreign trainer came and from reports, Ajiboye stood out. That means he was better than Ezenwa. Lo and behold, instead of dropping one of the keepers and continue the screening process with Alampasu getting a shot, they dropped him and pointed at Logistics as one of the reason.

That was a blatant lie.

God saved us that Pepe Mel gave Uzoho a shot. If not, many saying Alampasu should not be selected because he is not getting playing time would have kicked against Uzoho being in a lower division.

The goalkeeping department is shady and bias. It is clear for all to see. It is time a fair and unbiased screening process takes place with Alloy Agu far from it or preferably sacked. He is doing more harm than good to the Super Eagles.

The Foreign goalkeeper trainer can screen and select the best from the pack. A screening process with some of the best home and abroad. The best selected based on ability. Not club rank or age.

Without the best, we are deceiving ourselves.

Saying Alampasu is not regular or Uzoho plays in a lower league does not solve the real problem.

We need the best goalkeeper. If Alampasu is better than Uzoho and we deny him his chance because a coach decided not to field him, then we are own enemies.

If Uzoho is better, let him be the one to man the post. If Alampasu is better, let him keep for the team. If Ajiboye is better, let him be the one. The goalkeeper trainer should screen fairly and select the best.

Alampasu had no clean sheet in his first 5 games in the portuguese division 3.

Courtios only has 1 clean sheet in his first 5 competitive games this season and has no clean sheet in 6 games on a role this season.

Is Uzoho not better than him? Bhuahaha.

Now, answer my question. Can you give cogent fact to prove Alampasu was not impressive last season? I need fact from an independent unbiased source. Thank you.

You are saying he couldn't make the team based on quality and not on merit. Now, that is being mischievous at best.

So. You mean Uchebo, Ameobi and the other boy deserved to be selected based on merit?

I know some of you are afraid Iheanacho might lose his position once he competes with a better player but pls do note that national team was not created for one player. It is for the best to come and fight for shirt.
That is a ridiculous assertion bro. The national team does not revolve around Iheanacho, the National team is bigger than any one individual.
Many people here adore Alampasu and were always at the forefront, leading calls for his promotion to first choice, but since the emergence of uzoho, such calls have reduced. I promise you this, if we have guys that are clearly ahead of Iheanacho, many wouldn't bat an eyelid if he is excluded.

Courtois that is in a first division team? They are comparing two keepers in Division 3 and you're dragging a First Division player into it.

Baba, no dey embarrass yourself in the name of argument. When Courtois begins to play for a third division team in Europe, we will include him in the discussions

You pick most of the players playing in the best teams in the best leagues, there are always exceptions to this rule as there are other intrinsic factors to be considered.

The core of the team has players playing in the best teams and leagues, you should be fine with that.
