Mama Biko help me ooo.... I don’t want to go to hospital because my pediatrician always see me as to curious human being grin. My baby has been having this catarrh that will be going and coming. Although I usually have catarrh too because it’s once in a while that my nose goes completely dry. Secondly, the way she’s yawning nowadays is alarming. For example I picked her up from crèche dis evening, although the aunty told me that she just woke up but she yawned up to three times before we got home. Please has anyone experienced this. Is it a growth spurt or what? And what can I use to clear the nose once. Just bought another nasal drop sef. She’s fine o but na me dey justdey worry up and down.

Give her vit C religiously... this is catarrh and cough season. You can add a drop of silverbird oil on her dress; it will help the catarrh . Also try to keep her warm.
allow the babe to yawn jare cheesy cheesy cheesy nothing is wrong with her

About this family planning, people around are telling DH that it delays/affects another pregnancy when one removes it. Now he's not in full support again although he says I can go for it if I want. pls any mama that did FP and took in without issues indicate..,lemme know.

Also, my baby has refused to take formula. she's 14weeks. I tried mixing it with Ogi she didn't accept it but she took plain Ogi yesterday. I'm not comfortable with this her style. what do I do pls?

Lol, I don't think my baby's nose has been dry for up to 10 days straight since he started crawling. We take vitamin C every day now and steam every 3 days. Mentholatum on his body everyday, nasal drops for when his nose is blocked. I've accepted it as dividend of development grin

Yawning one I don't know oh, does she yawn like that when she doesn't go to creche on weekends?

Thank you oo.... I give Vitamin C everyday now

Let me first comment on the formula feeding. 14 weeks is too young for ogi games! please stop. Babies can be tricky with feeding. You might have to do the following:
- change the formula; maybe she no longer likes the current one
- check the teat of the bottle and ensure it's flowing well; you can also change the bottle. My daughter also gave me this stress. Changed bottles from tommee tippee to avent to dr browns; still she refused
- try using syringe or spoon to feed her

at this age, she needs all the milk. try all the methods possible to make sure she takes milk

Then for the family planning, non hormonals like IUDs have no issues with when taken out if you want to conceive ASAP

I am a first time mum, lemme share how I have being able to handle some things, some people might find it helpful.

My DS is 7months+ now and has never had cattarh, though he doesn't go to a crèche,he has a nanny at home. I give him vitamin c everyday. When he was born,he passes stool say 5times a day and by 3months he was passing 3times,not watery stool o. I wasn't comfortable with it even though his doctor said there wasn't an issue because he wasn't putting weight as I expected. I started him on a multivite that contains Zinc after plenty Google search and his pooing several times a day reduced to once and these days on alternate days.

My son used to hate water so much,it bothered me o. After eating he will take just 2 or 3 spoons of water and that was it. It came to my mind to buy a very colorful sippy cup(it has two handles that he can hold with both hands) that solved my water issue o. If he sees you with his cup he will always want to drag it from you force it open and drink whatever is in it. Since he refused feeding bottle I make his milk in it too.

The post is already too long, make una no vex o... I am very jobless today.

My son did this too. I started with Nan, he refused. Tried SMA Gold, he refused. Tried Similac, he refused at first but was taking pap alone. I continued trying the Similac as it was not easy for me to discard the Similac just like that as I did with the others (for this economy?) and eventually, he started taking it with no fuss. So now we take formula and pap+formula

There is no thought that babies are indeed bundle of joy, but sometime we mothers/fathers face so many challenges raising our kids, so i want us to use this avenue to discuss any issue concerning them(our kids) here!!!!!! For example, my 8weeks old boy sleeps only 6 hours @ night but seems to enjoy more time sleeping during the day, but i must confess am not too happy about it at all, but what every1 is saying its normal.......... Nairalanders Is this normal?

As in! I was so confused. Even her weight doesn't seem out of place. He probably doesn't believe in FP and decided to just dismiss her instead of being professional about it

feddy27:

exactly! instead he will tell her he does not know how to do it, he's pulling yeye story

For FP please go to the primary health centre near you and ask for counselling. Their FP days are usually Friday. Reactions differ from person to person so what works for me may not work for you. All methods have their advantages and side effects whether non hormonal or hormonal

feddy27 has adviced re the ogi. Although giddyperson's baby didn't take formula. Have you trued expressing breastmilk? Does she take it?

Please does anyone know which hospital(s) in Lagos administer(s) the meningococcal B (Bexsero) vaccine. Thank you.

hunniesuzie:
Doesn't work like that. Babies especially around 6 months slow down on getting fat because they are developing more in other areas. At about 6 months my baby's weight was stagnant for about 6 weeks, but the feet of his sleepsuits tore because he grew taller, this was also the time he started moving on his own. Resources are going into other development so no need to worry

Exactly ma, his sleepsuits don't size him again, I have to change all that, he can sit on his own comfortably without any help. He is just learning how to crawl to pick something. Well I guess that settles it. Thank you ma
