omoluabiguy: I don't see any difference between you and your god (Twoods). You're insulting and hating. You can easily point out someone as the problem of a country. Don't you think you're also one of the problems we have in this country? Btw, I didn't see "confusionist" in the dictionary as it relates to your use above. You're welcome. 2 Likes |

Mitchely:I don't mean to be mean o, I'm just saying that if only you had known you'd have told them before that they were coming, but that would have hurt you o, like might have affected your chance of getting a visa, because that's your strong tie. My advice, leave them first, after a year let them visit you during summer, so they'd come in a vacation instead. So you are safe that way I guess |

@ omoluabiguy Lol @ creepy reply.. He is used to attack people on here ferociously calling them "Shame", "disgruntled", "dishonest", "fraudulent" etc. People on here have complained bitterly about him but he is not ready to accept blames. He is here saying many unprintable names about Nigeria as if he has never been in the system before. anytime he gets into arguments with people and he is being defeated, his line next of response will be " You even live in Nigeria" OR "talk to me when you have VISA" a case example of TheGrandChemist. Please note that people on here always show displeasure anytime he uses bad names on quote them and generalized them. The word "most" Nigerians are dishonest is acceptable but not the word "Nigerians" that was why i was quick to remind him of his heritage BUT not matter how you think you can dish words to people very harshly, always think/know that there are also people out there with zero chills ready to give it back to you double.. that is life!! There was this day saying to some people on here "You wont get Visa", "You will be denied" etc. that is not a truth but a blatant lie(You are not a VO but yet you say with authority that a person will be denied) even on US visit thread section, people say on there "we can not predict your chances of getting a visa" There is this trending thing on twitter some times ago "Kenya vs Nigeria". each was quick to defend his country and i have seen post about foreigners taking swipes at africa(Nigeria) and i have NEVER seen a nigerian saying "Yeah, you are right etc" all they do is to blast the hell out of the foreigner. If we can refuse a foreigner says unprintable names about us, what more of a ordinary nigerian? Imagine you finishing school with this high hope of getting a good job and went to the normal interview and say we will get back to you only for your file to reach twood table for final review and say "Oh this is a dishonest, fraudulent nigerian" and case closed. If you hear that will you be pleased? So far I have been here, I have never seen a citizen or even heard it that africans are fraudulent, most of them are just quick to ask questions about africa. If the owners of the soil havent said you nigerians are bad or not complaining etc, then who is he to say so? Most people came here and violate their visa conditions and adjust status and become resident. if USCIS didnt find them guily and issue them green card, then who is he to complain? Is he saying they dont know their job? i have many examples The Bitter truth is is most people will still come here with the mindset of hustling and overstaying and later get papers and USCIS will continue granting them green card if they found them worthy of it. It is not in our place to criticize them if USCIS didnt/dont criticize them. America is indeed a land of opportunities for every nation that comes here. Shalom 11 Likes 2 Shares |

Englishboy: The real bitter truth is that for everyone who slips through the cracks, thousands will pay the price in terms of tougher visa conditions, more restrictions, less room for error... the myopic and frankly absurd nature of the discourse here amazes me. You are in the spot you are today because others ahead of you exhibited the same attitude and thoroughly abused the visa process. Visa laws will likely change next year, i guarantee it won’t be to your favor. 1 Like |

SophiaLisa: You do not need to renew your F1 visa as long as you remain in the US all through to the end of your post OPT. However, i will ask you - what are your plans post OPT? I hope you are working on it RIGHT NOW, because May will be here sooner than you expect. If you have an employer, you should be pushing to apply for the H1B (ideally you should have applied in spring 2017 because it is harder to get them now if you're not Indian). Once the OPT expires, unless you renew it, you will be out of status and expected to leave the country so ma'am please get to working on the next phase. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

TWoods: @bolded. I noticed Indians has the highest rate and chances of H1B. No doubt those guys are very good in all they do. Could you explain the bolded why they seem to get approved for H1B a lot compared to other nationalities? We Nigerians always have to work our ass out triple times just to prove ourselves worthy. Pls enlighten me and elucidate on why/how Indians cop the H1B easily Sir **** There are very skillful Nigerians too, but it seems like the Indians has overshadowed everything for the US to even look at other nationalities which makes the competition tougher for one to get noticed |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by TWoods(m): 3:32am On Dec 07, 2017 |
omoluabiguy: It's not because they are "very good in all they do". In reality, most of them are mediocre. What you need to know is that first, only 65,000 H1B visas are available each year by law. There is an extra 20,000 for those with advanced degrees. Every year, the total number of H1B applicants far outstrips the number available within the first day or two when applications become open. For this reason, the allocation is done by random lottery. There are Indian companies that solely specialize in providing Indian cheap labor to major IT companies in the US. These companies (or body shops) account for more than 80% of of H1B applicants. This is the reason why India typically gets over 70% of H1B visas every year. The downside is that everyone else's chances are slimmer because you are going against companies mass applying for thousands of Indians at once. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

TWoods: First bolded: when you say advanced degree, do you mean masters and PhD or just PhD? Whatever the answer to that is, do you mean you have more chances of getting approved for H1B when you have a higher degree compared to Bsc holders? Second bolded: I totally get the Puzzle as to why Indians get it a lot now which makes the struggle for others stronger. I stick with honesty, but from your view as an experienced person who has been thru the process, Is it advisable to chose “Yes” when applying for a job and the regular questions of “would you need a sponsorship” pops up? I’ll be starting my OPT next year and I think it’s time I need to get exposed to how things are done after school I would appreciate some explanations on these pls 3 Likes |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by TWoods(m): 4:05am On Dec 07, 2017 |
omoluabiguy: 1. Yes. The advanced degree applies to masters and phd. It's a smaller pool so your chances are slightly higher with a masters at least. 2. Yes. You should always be upfront that you will need sponsorship when applying. There is no upside to hiding that fact. At the tail end of the employment process, almost all major companies will ask you to fill an I-9 employment verification form. They will run your social security number (there is a website where you can run this yourself actually) to verify employment eligibility and/or ask you to provide proof of residence in the US. There is no way they won't find out so just be honest outright. If a company wants you, they will pull out all the stops to get you and get you the visas you need to stay with them. Here is the rub too, even if the company never asks, that is much worse. It simply means they took your word for it that you are a US citizen and they run payroll for you on that basis. When you now need to file for a green card, that will count against you (as part of your background check, the USCIS will request and review any I-9 form ever filed on your behalf). Most people don't know, but there is one offence that has zero chance to be waived even if you confess - lying that you are a US citizen. Once caught, you will never be allowed to obtain another US visa. 3. I would encourage that you target getting employment with your OPT then pushing for the H1B as quickly as possible. 14 Likes 4 Shares |

TWoods: Thanks man, of course I have no other option of getting employement outside of my F1 status, getting a job after college isn’t the problem, but my worries are based on the H1B processing after employment. Is it an automatic process after getting employed or am I overthinking things? Maybe I need to chill till I get to that bridge before seeking for advise 1 Like |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by biikeys(m): 4:27am On Dec 07, 2017 |
omoluabiguy: Ideally, for your OPT, you want to apply to companies that would eventually take care of your H1-B and GC (or at least just H1-B). H1-B needs to be filed and approved while you're on OPT, meaning there is really no gap to allow your company to start your H1-B filing once you're done with OPT. The max you get I believe is 12 months + 24 months extension if in STEM, which can give your company up to 2 or 3 chances at the lottery depending on when during the year you get hired and how long your company will eventually take to prepare your application. Basically, you need to do your research well when submitting job applications on OPT. There are lots of resources out there online. Just keep reading. At this point you need all the information you can get! 7 Likes 3 Shares |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by TWoods(m): 4:31am On Dec 07, 2017 |
omoluabiguy: It is not that difficult and you should not really worry. Most big companies know how the process works. As soon as they've made the decision to hire you, they will most likely assign a lawyer to you who will walk you through the entire process. Most likely the only thing they will require you to do is fill necessary forms or produce needed information - birth certificate, electronic I94, passport etc. The lawyer will take it from there. One thing that you should know, there is what is called cap H1B and noncap H1B. If you work for a non-profit (e.g. college/university), your H1B is not counted against the cap (65,000 legally available H1B visas). All you need do is apply through your employer at any time and as long as there is no problem, you should get the H1B very easily. 8 Likes 6 Shares |
