junnyjake:Honestly just my mind but remember Joel Obi would be a great option if is injury free. Uche Agbo always listed as CB in eagles,do check invitation list, you see him in defender category,as a midfielder i don't think he gets a chance.. In the absence of Enyeama i will go for Aiyenugba,i would have love to have Ejide but is clubless |

Oasis007: Looking at this team, their strength is the ability of their midfield to keep possession. In this case, we must overcrowd the midfield with two mobile defensive midfielders. We must press from their defence to force them to play against their wish but if we don't succeed to get the ball as quickly as possible, we have to withdraw and defend from deep with rapid counter attacks once we have the ball because I don't think we can match dem in the midfield. I wish we perfect that 3-5-2 formation again with another friendly with Iwobi and Iheanacho as false 9. They will always fall deep into the midfield to overcrowd the midfield and When they spread to the wings, Mikel will become the false 9. In this case, they are confused on who to mark as our target man. The more we analyse this team the more fear fear go come. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Oasis007:I really don't want to say anything about this slimy issue of tribalism. But you see forgiveness himself makes it easy for others to tag him a tribalist. I refrained for long from looking at him from that angle but one day I snapped and called him out. He explained his position to me and I apologised. The point I want to make is that he himself is fond of accusing the coaching and technical crew of all sort of things including tribalism and nepotism. When he does so, others fire back by labelling him a tribalist. That's the circle. So he too should refrain from accusing coaching crew of tribalism (even if it appears so) and perhaps others would ease up on their own accusations directed at him. 3 Likes |

Oasis007: And I say to them 'go and sin no more' Honestly, projection are distractions from the cruise of main priorities and critical thinking. Only weak brians resort to blackmail and unfounded counter upon counter false accusations without cogent fact or reasoning. Well, I am only putting things straight for those guilty to get a reflection of themselves. However, I hope they engage in healthy debates devoid of accusations when one makes his/her points even if they mention and defend 8 players from Fulani tribe . I am comfortable and in agreement with whatever will bring sanity into thus thread. Thanks 1 Like |

Legendary Croatia Striker Ivica Olić : Nigeria Powerful Team, Far Better Than Cameroon ''Nigeria is a powerful team, extremely fast, physically powerful, certainly uncomfortable. They are our first opponents, we need to analyze them well, they are, for me, much better than Cameroon with whom we met in the past World Cup.'' Olić scored the first goal for the Croatians after 11 minutes in their 4-0 demolition of Cameroon at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Ifeanyi Emmanuel 1 Like |

right off the bat the average age of the croatian team is quite high compared us. in the midfield where they have a technical advantage over us they have a couple of old legs who will be older next summer. you know we have a lot of young players who are high energy. i expect them not to give modric any room to comfortably dictate the pace of the game plus the speed of our counter attacks should be hard for them to cope with. in attack perisic and manzukic are very capable and dangerous but thankfully it seems we now have decent fullbacks who can the threat the former offers and in ekong/balogun we have guys who should be able to cage manzukic. in conclusion we should be able to wear them down with our pace and strength but we should be careful. croatia has dealt with physical sides like cameroon in the past so they will be up for the physical battle Oasis007: 4 Likes |

Mujtahida: These people are paid with tasks payers money. There is no way they can be spared from public attacks. Accusing me of trabalism is not the issue but the issue is the inability to give a cogent reasoning backed with critical analyses to back up such accusation, rather than resoting to prejudice After all, I have always analyse issues. To some, it is their profession to give reasonable reasons that can't be accepted as fact or demised as false. Once, people are allowed to express themselves, I don't think there will be need for personal attacks due to prejudice. 1 Like |

true but there have been periods where he has had good long periods of sustained performances for club (wigan, chelsea) and country. joel obi if fit would always be one of the first names on my team sheet but as a coach preparing for a tournament i would always have a nagging feeling at the back of my mind that i may be wasting a spot taking him along because joel is the kind of player who will start the first game, blow his hamstring then be out for the rest of the competition. real dilemma forgiveness: 1 Like |

WILFRED NDIDI RATED 2ND MOST UNDERRATED PLAYER IN THE EPL Wilfred Ndidi Rated 2nd Most Underrated Player In The EPL Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been rated as the 2nd most Underrated player in the English premier league This is according to top soccer magazine FourFourtwo The English publication came up with the 10 underrated Premier League players you didn’t realise make their teams tick report which is a A list of players who don’t hog the headlines – but have been crucial for their respective clubs this season. The Leicester midfielder was rated at no 2 behind Arsenals Aaron Ramsey in a list that also has Burnleys James Tarkowski and Liverpools Joe Gomez among others FourFourtwo described the 20 year old Nigerian as “Not completely unlike the player he was signed to replace, N’Golo Kante,” According to the Magazine “the 20-year-old Ndidi has gone largely unnoticed at Leicester despite consistently dominating central midfield. Since signing from Belgian side Genk for £15m in January 2017, Ndidi has started 31 of the Foxes’ 32 league matches – a remarkable total for such a young player in a new country.” “During his time in England, Ndidi has won more tackles – 127 – than any other player in the division, which is the sort of statistic that eventually helped Kante rise to fame. It’s only a matter of time before this athletic and intelligent central midfielder becomes one of the most sought-after young footballers in Europe.” Ndidi was also recedntly rated as the most expensive African U21 player, 11th in the world and is expected to line up for Claude Puels side this weekend away to Newcastle. Gernot Rohr Super Eagles boss wants to take Obafemi Martins to World Cup Nurudeen Shotayo | 15:46 | 01.12.2017 Gernot Rohr has thrown the door open for Obafemi Martins and others to return to the Super Eagles ahead of 2018 World Cup in Russia. Nigeria's coach Gernot Rohr oversaw the Super Eagles' qualification for Russia in October 2017 Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has stated that China-based striker, Obafemi Martins, and other players who have been out of the national team, stand a chance of getting on the plane to Russia in 2018. The Franco-German tactician revealed this during a recent interview when he's expressing his willingness to increase his striking options as the Super Eagles continue to build up to the World Cup. Rohr who just extended his Super Eagles contract maintains that Obafemi Martins and other Nigerian strikers who are hoping to be part of the World Cup party would have to be playing and scoring consistently to earn a call up. Obafemi Martins in action for Super Eagles (Thenet.ng) Martins, who currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua, helped his Club to win the Chinese FA Cup on Sunday, November 26, by beating rival Shanghai SIPG. The 33-year-old scored in both matches of the two-legged final. He netted the only goal in his team's 1-0 first leg victory and also got their second goal in the return leg which finished 3-2 in favour of SIPG. Although the tie finished 3-3 on aggregate but Martins' club won based on away goals rule. Obafemi Martins goal celebration for his club Shanghai Shenhua (owngoalnigeria.com) “Yes, the door is open to all our best players, including Martins. “He is scoring a lot of goals and we need to get competition for all the positions, especially centre-forward. “For now, we have Kelechi (Iheanacho) who is playing not all the time. (But) we played with Kelechi against Argentina and he did well. “Then Anthony Nwakaeme also did well against Algeria and Odion Ighalo, who is injured now, did very well against Cameroon. “But we have also other players, like the young boy Victor Osimhen, and we have to look everywhere. “We have a lot of opportunities for the strikers, and so Martins, if he is scoring goals, will be welcome,” said Rohr. Rohr's search for a striker The Super Eagles are still in search of a decent and reliable centre-forward. This position has continued to be a source of concern for Gernot Rohr who has experimented with different players in the last couple of games. During the six games of the World Cup qualification round, the Super Eagles paraded four different strikers. Victor Moses In the Super Eagles' first qualifier game against Zambia in Lunda, Brown Ideye led the attack for the team. The then Olympiacos striker was impressive and also provided an assist for Iheanacho to score Nigeria's second goal in the 2-1 victory. However, a move to China in January of 2017 combined with lack of form and game time ruled him out of consideration. Kelechi Iheanacho slotted into the striking position when the Super Eagles beat Algeria by 3-1 but it was obvious he struggled to cope in that role. In the double header against Cameroon, Odion Ighalo had a stellar performance for the team and even scored a goal to complement his efforts. He repeated the same feat against Zambia, although he finished the game without scoring. In the inconsequential game against Algeria, Anthony Nwakaeme was dragged in as a centre-forward but the Apoel Beer Sheva player couldn't get into his rhythm and had a below par performance. Odion Ighalo It's instructive to note that out of the 12 goals scored by the Super Eagles in the World Cup qualifiers, only Ighalo's goal against Cameroon can be said to have come from a natural centre-forward. This development has prompted Rohr to embark on a quest for a natural goal poacher. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have also joined in this search. In September, NFF President Amaju Pinnick announced that Nigerian-born and Swansea City striker Tammy Abraham has committed his international future to Nigeria. The tall striker has come out to debunk the claim and has even gone ahead to play for the Three Lions of England. With Obafemi Martins back in the picture, the speedy striker may play his way into the plans of Gernot Rohr for the World Cup if he can continue his goal scoring foam. https://amp.pulse.ng/sports/football/gernot-rohr-wants-to-take-obafemi-martins-to-the-world-cup-id7671413.html |

I am relatively new to this thread and I called forgiveness out when I noticed something. I’m far from an Igbo person. And I’ve canvassed for every #tag except for the home based on this thread. I can easily expose him, but I respect him the same for one thing he hardly uses abusive speech. But that said if I must go back in time and pick out some of his utterances during our debate you all will be convinced beyond doubt that most of his opinions are based on misconceptions e.g that the NFF is tribaliatic. My friend while hr may not always be canvassing for his tribemen, some monikers seeing him as such is not unfounded. Having said that, he may have a valid point as regards other monikers also being tribaliatic. But it will be a hard for him to prove. The Igbos have dominated SE somewhat but we all know the caliber of those players. Most earned it. And just as some have got into the SE fold for other reasons than performance, some players from other sections of the country also have for other reasons than performance. That’s the Nigerian way. If he can get rid of those misconceptions he will be just fine, and his submissions will be taken more seriously by many. Oasis007: 2 Likes |

blueto: One game doesn't make a player it's too early to make those deductions based on one game. Particularly as we know that as the game progresses team formation can change. For instance in the first half we were more cautious a more defensive approach. Come second half instructions had changed and it became more offensive and that's when Idowu and Ebuehi came in. So to conclude that Shehu and Aina are now second choice is very premature and shows limited understanding of football strategy and application. |
