The kind of excuses I read on this thread is mind blogging. Can't we reason logically again or why must our logic fly off the window once it's our loved player that is being discussed? Mujtahida: |

Says who? He's better in trapping than Iheanacho, on a scale of 10, he's a 6 while iheanacho is a 4. Go and watch clips. safarigirl: If you don't care if he can trap ball, why care he plays for the U21 of leciester or was sold from Man City? A good player can't be overlooked. Ditto : Roy Sane! |

Leicester City Boss Refuses To Rule Out Selling Kelechi Iheanacho In January Published: December 09, 2017 Leicester City boss Claude Puel has refused to rule out the possibility of selling Nigeria star Kelechi Iheanacho four weeks before the winter transfer market opens for business. The Foxes have six strikers in the first team consisting of Iheanacho, Vardy, Ahmed Musa, Slimani, Okazaki and Ulloa, and the former Man City starlet has found game time hard to come by after making only two starts in the Premier League from a possible fifteen. ''Kelechi had an injury and after, for the moment, we have competition,'' Puel was quoted as saying by Leicester Mercury ''I am happy with Jamie for example. Kelechi or other players cannot play on the side. ''It’s difficult for them, but for me also to manage all these players because we have six strikers so there is no place for all the players.'' Puel added :: ''I try to respect them. Kelechi arrived this season and we will see. With all these games in this busy period, we will see. ''Time will tell. The window is not open, we will see. For the moment, we just look at all these games. We need all the players.'' Iheanacho penned a five-year contract with Leicester City in the summer for a fee in the region of 25 million pounds. |

Mujtahida:Good point but am seriously baffled at the way we are going with our analysis on the formation of this team.It seems we are more focus on 3-5-2 formation and even trying to pick our team from it using 45 minutes performance against Argentina as yardstick to the extent players like Shehu,Ighalo even Victor Moses are being given a cold critical look. Really surprised seeing guys saying Moses is not discipline and selfish forgetting that Moses contribution as a forward is more valuable to the team than WB.I remember how Moses singlehandedly gave us two penalties against Ethopia at 2013 Afcon cos goals refused to come, pls Moses is more valuable upfront. This is Super eagles not Chelsea. I just read now Moses was named in the list of 100 best players in the world and such player is being scolded here just cos we had a wonder 45 minutes against Argentina.I was surprised seeing guys lineup here excluding Ighalo, Shehu and putting Moses as WB just based on Argentina friendly,if we are in Argentina shoe for losing the 4-2.,heads must have roll,a lot must have called for Rohr sack. We need to be patient with our players. If Shehu lost his position just cos of Ebuhei performance despite his solid performance during qualifiers and funny enough it was not a disastrous outing for Shehu and Aina even they had better performance than Balogun. The team generally had a woeful first half performance, pls check Iwobi performance in the first half it was below par,so the team gave too much respect to Argentines and playing 3-5-2 for the first time culminated with Akpeyi howler, really affected the team, our coming back has nothing to do much with the players but coach instructions. It simple Rohr might said guys go out there and play your game is just a friendly, nothing to lose. There is need for us to stop basking in euphoria of our victory against Argentina, such victory always remind me how my university team beat Kwara united 3 nil during pre season friendly which gave some of our boys opportunity to go for trial with united but they couldn't meet up.I still remeber how Ikpeba and Teslim Fatusi came in against Brazil in Atlanta and changed the game.Sometimes it happens in football and what we need to do is to build up and not destroy the team based on that performance. I was surprise seeing guys already rating Ebuhei and Idowu over others, truly they had a good performance but a lot forget that no sensible coach would rate that friendly ahead of Nigere- Cameroon or Nigeria-Zambia match.Do we forget how the same Argentina find it tough to qualify for WC,they waited till last match. Am sorry to say this i had the opportunity of watching some of Ebuhei matches at his club and i want to say i was really surprised with his good performance against Argentina cos most of his games in his club were averaged even in 3-5-2 formation and when Rohr was not using him i wasn't surprise meaning i cannot rate him than Shehu Abdullahi. We need to see him more and be convinced.Even Idowu we need to be cautious,i watched him against Rostov not really impressed though he played from RB and also against Slyvester Igboun club in which Amer lost 3 nil with Sylvester netting a brace. I know Rohr is an experience coach who know what he is doing and know where he is going with the team and must have his 80% XI for WC by now not to talk of 23 man list.We have been to WC and we all know how team selection evolves. 5 Likes |

In an unrelated matter. Shocked with the shuffle in the managerial positions at Everton due to the arrival of Sam Allardyce. With the return of Sam Lee. Unsworth who I felt was doing a good work as the caretaker manager gets demoted to the U23 team as their manager. I liked Unsworth methods and I felt with time he was going to get the team playing well. However, he was able to show what he could offer when Everton won their last game under his command 4-0. Most shocking is the employment of Craig Shakespeare as one of the Everton coaches. We will see how things pan out. |

mazimee: Coach, I will stone you salute if you sell Nacho. Honestly. It is not just about Nacho not playing regularly but Puel style does not give me excitement. Let see hat happens. But, if Nacho will leave Leicester City, my advice to him is to look for a club with a history of creating chances and also have a history of free flowing football. If there is no chance for a sale, I say he seals a loan deal to Dortmund if he has secured his passport. Dortmund is in need of a finisher. Playing as a sub to Aubameyang will work because in the limited time Nacho gets, he will have chances to score. Keep in mind the current boss of Dortmund, Bosz was the same manager who handled Traore at Ajax who is currently with Lyon. 3 Likes |

peterd53: Hmmm... learn sha? What is he supposed to learn? How to do the basics? Was he having that problem before pep? This is a guy that was sooo confident playing no 10 position. For you to play that role, you must have a good degree of ball control and distribution. I think the awe of Guadiola took all that away from him. The need to please a manager who doesnt even rate him. You are saying was I not amongst those clamouring for his exit from Man City?. My answer is an emphatic yes! I was and I still stand by my statement. Iheanacho got frustrated out of Man city. Would we say Sterling fought for his shirt? Like seriously? Sterling was crap when he got to City. Much worse than Iheanacho. Yet he played week in week out. He got some right , he got a lot wrong. Sterling is putting up good perfomance because he had chances upon chances given to him by his coach. Same cannot be said of Iheanacho. Lets call it what it is. His confidence took a hit when Guadiola arrived. If Iheanacho got half the minutes that sterling got by virtue of his coach confidence, he would be firing on all cylinders. This takes me to his leicester team. Everyone wants this guy to have scored at least 10 goal by now but the reality is he got injured before the season even started, bear in mind also that he did not participate in any form of pre season tour whether with City or Leicester. I dont do sentimental analysis. Those who know me know I do objective analysis. The dude hasnt had much starts since this season began. The dynamics in the leicester team is not the same as what we have in Man City. I dare you to bench Jamie Vardy for the next 6 games and start Iheanacho in front. Pair him with Okazaki and ensure Demarai Gray is in the mix as well and lets see who will return better goals ratio... Until that happens, those saying he isnt quality should stop talking. Thank you Disclaimer: I dont hold any brief for Iheanacho, I rarely sing his praises. I only pointed out areas in his games where he seems lacking and needs to improve upon. The dude needs game time. End of story 3 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Will he go to Dortmund and start begging them? Or you think Dortmund will be looking for a player who cannot trap the ball effectively? Iheancho should have made the right move, Leicester city has exposed him, if he leaves now no top team will want him, it's Turkey from here 1 Like |

somehow: Yorubas will say u only compare things that are alike. How old is Akpeyi please? Akpeyi got chances upon chances until he started messing up. In the whole of Nigeria, are we saying that Akpeyi is the best we can find? Or he is just being foistered on us? If a goalkeeper in this age and time cant deal with things as basic as his basic duties, then what are here discussing? If an outfirld player loses ball control, we will understand because ther is hope for recovery. But Akpeyi? Haba brother! You know the answer na. What will you call his display against argentina? Lack of confidence? Or loss of concentration? Kò jo'ra won now? I cant even believe why you would bring in Akpeyi when discussing Iheanacho. They not playing the same roles. Not the same age and certainly not in the same circumstance of bein benched. I have answered someone previously. I think I have gotten to the point where it boils down to people's view. Objective or not. Mind you, I wasnt talking about babysitting. I dont know how that came about. I have explained severally and now I hate to be seen as a praise singer for Iheanacho. Everyone and anyone is entitled to their opinions. I will always respect that. However a little objectivity is all we ask for. Analyse situations critically. Understand that for every cause, there is an effect. Thanks 2 Likes |

Mujtahida: Shehu, is a midfielder and would find it very difficult to function as a WB. Moses, Aina, Ebuehi, Idowu play the WB position for their clubs, so they know exactly what is required of them. |

somehow: What does that translate into? The people you mentioned werent in the same role as Iheanacho. If yes, is he playing only CF? Is he not also a midfielder? Why not give him chance on the wings? Sane met Iheanacho in the team. Besides, they dont even play in the same role. There were 3 known forward men at City. Aguero, Iheanacho and Jesus. If you are keen about teaching a player how to play, then the first person to really get benched and fastened to the seat is Sterling. What say you to that? Can you explain the week in week out playing of sterling who gets into shooting positions and passes to the goalkeeper? Had feeble attempts at goal most times. Here you are, saying football is business. Yes we know but at what expense? Destroying someone elses's career just so you can look good or building peoples lives? It hurts but it is the truth. Time will tell how far Guardiola goes with his ideologies in the EPL. Truth be told, Iheanacho has soooo much to work on. Work rate wise, he is behind others but how does he get the chance to even show his work rate with 5 minute cameos? Until these answers and many more are answered, please lets stop bashing this boy. Taliban: I don't think Rohr will select more than 8 defenders for th mundial. Based on your list, if I have to choose btw Brian Idowu and Aina, Brian has my nod because he offers more to the team in terms of versatility than Aina, and not necessarily based on talent and ability to effectively play in a particular role. But if talent and ability to effectively play well in a particular role are put into uppermost consideration and become the ultimate factor to choose, Aina is a better choice for me as a RB because I saw him played and performed wonders in that role for his club. In short, Aina and Ebuehi will be my choice RB options while Echiejile and Idowu will be my LB options because they can effectively play well in a role. However, if versatility is the main deciding factor then Idowu is better, he can play comfortably as a DF, DMF, RWB, LWB, RB and LB. Based on these, Aina has to make way for Idowu but I hope the coaching srew use the other deciding factor to choose because jack of all trade no go help if they are not affective enough. I think I will still want us to get another player apart from Omeruo but unfortunately those foreign breed no want gree play for us. I think Dominic Iorfa is the only one ready nau but NFF dey play politics. |
