EdoNation:no, i am not talking about his parentage or pedigree. Oduduwa came from Oke-ora , that's what I am saying. as to his parentage, that cannot be said not every historical character has his parentage on record. Other Yoruba men of the time like Obatala, Obamakin, Obameri, Obawinrin etc do not have their parentage on record but what is on record are their homes, achievements and postulated origins, for Oduduwa, he is always referenced to Oke-ora as Obatala is referenced to Ode-Igbo. Historians therefore take the strongest and earliest references to be the origin but if you say otherwise, then you need to provide a stronger argument with evidence 2 Likes 1 Share |

AxxeMan:Look at this uncultured young man who knows nothing about history. You kept disgracing yourself on here without any information but all you could send on here is hateful statement. Honestly, I don't blame you because you are a pathetic slave blood. My father ,Oranmiyan was the one that made your king, whose mother was given to him on a platter of God because he was dreaded before your so called oba of BINI have Yoruba blood. You think you have hot blood? Mine is 1000times yours but won't display it. It is only a child and coward that fume over discussable issues with facts but fact is alien to you all because you people are stand-up comedians that easily sell lies like a strike of thunder. So, you're not a brave man but a coward and a slave blood. Classical ignoble boy is who you are! Get a life for yourself because you have nothing tangible to add to what is being displayed on here. I can't laugh anymore because Oba BINI can't even deny oranmiyan as his patrilineal father that came with the word called O-BA. Yet you kept distorting as usual like your uninformed older people. It runs in your blood. Ingrate set of people. 2 Likes 1 Share |

EdoNation:sorry, it's not that simple. Your claim lacks consistency and verification..here are some 1. "Izoduwa" has a totally different meaning from "oduduwa" 2. In Bini traditions the man is called Oduduwa like in Yoruba, so the issue of "Oduduwa" being a corruption of "Izoduwa" is out the window. There's even a Bini festival called oduduwa festival not Izoduwa festival or Ekaledehan festival, and no reference to Ekaledehan is made during this festival. There's no tradition in bini of the Ooni of ife being called Izoduwa or Ekaledehan. 3. No songs, no festivals, not even a part of the Oba's oriki or coronation rites connect him to Ekaledehan. But the Oba is called Ovbie Adimula, Ovbie Oodua n'uhe...references to Oduduwa as we know him not as Ekaledehan. 4. The Ekiopagha treaty between Ogiamien and the 5th Oba of bini portrays the Oba as a foreigner and not a person whose ancestors own the land This is not an issue of ethnic pride and prejudice but common sense, you don't have to be a historian or African studies specialist to detect lack of consistency from the Ekaledehan- Oduduwa claim, this is why no historian of reputation has picked it up 1 Like 1 Share |

EdoNation:Very funny, no single bini person can defend their claim with evidence. This is not a matter of versions if Edo do not even have traditions to back the story up. It is appearing more an more as a fictitious recent fabrication that has no basis in Edo tradition Moreso if I am to take it personal, you talk about my ancestor and say I should not question what you say about him? If you want to say my ancestor came from your land you provide a superior argument...its never as simple as "oduduwa came from bini" then you end there 3 Likes 1 Share |

EdoNation:^^^^^^ ^^^^^^ @EdoNation There was NO Bini Empire at the time Oduduwa was alive. When Oranmiyan came to Bini and had a child Eweka by a Bini woman, there was also NO Bini Empire. Only a Kingdom started by the Oranmiyan/Eweka Dynasty with Ife origins existed after the Ogiso rule ended. There are oral traditions in Bini and Ife affirming the movement of Oranmiyan with his followers/aides from Ife to Idanre to Bini where he briefly assumed the first Obaship. He later left to assume the Rulership of Oyo Kingdom which metamorphosed to the Oyo Empire with the conquest of other lands! This is why the powerful Oyo Empire and the equally powerful Bini Empire NEVER militarily attacked one another over the centuries because the Dynasties ruling the two FORMER empires of Oyo and Bini are family members or cousins. DNA tests are available abroad that can help to prove this especially from the Paternal lineages! Hope this helps! 3 Likes 2 Shares |

laudate:^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^ ...Brilliant... Nicely worded @ Laudate! 1. Epe, Ikorodu, and Ibeju-Lekki are parts of Ijebuland which EXTENDS into Lagos State from Ogun State. 2. The Awori-Yorubas who migrated from Ife own the remaining parts of Lagos State [17 of the 20 original Local Government Areas of Lagos State]. Aworiland extends into Ogun State and the Yoruba-speaking parts of Benin Republic. 3. While Badagry LGA of Lagos State is inhabited/owned by Aworis and Ogus [Egun]. Eguns are of mixed blood, i.e., Yoruba/Fon ancestry. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

EdoNation:Are you sure Odu'a came from Igodomigodo? If you are sure, educate us why Odu'a use white cockerel /pigeon/dove as sacrifice? And what was the other animals associated with Odu'a that are patrilineal of his ancestors? And why do they use such animals? I will give you an option of picking one out of the animals. Kindly elaborate. Then mention any part in Edo that use such animals as sacrifices as likened to your answer, which made you certain about Admullia If you don't have answer, then stop these personal opinion about my ANCESTOR 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Bini Are Original Owners Of Lagos, Not Yoruba – Layi Ajayi-Bembe by KingSango(m): 11:58am On Dec 09, 2017 |
Olu317: Its well known history the first child of Oduduwa was a girl. The princess married off to a Bini king so the Benin people are part Yorubas. Royal marriages were arranged in ancient times between kingdoms to bring peace. Although I don't know what will bring peace between Yorubas and Igbos that live in Lagos. But Lagos is Yorubaland they are there in the hundreds of thousands and have land all over the place that they own by family. No land owner should be poor. Biafra has blinded some Igbos. Western empires are behind financing Biafra, because they want to break Nigerian alliances with each other. As soon as a Biafra materializes then you will see the Westerners form alliance with Igbos. But after the Western empires become militarily strong in the region with Afro-com military bases they will turn on their Igbo allies too! When will we ever learn from history? All must build up Lagos but do not take away a poor man's land because thats all some families have is their land. All must build Igbo land eventually for a stronger region.
