. Who told you? He never wore #9 @Man Utd but @Real Madrid when he arrived the club cos Real Madrid Legend, Raul was still much around the club.

Note Ronaldo inherited #7 jersey number left behind by the English Celebrity Footballer, David Beckham, when the club sold him to Real Madrid.

#7 is the RED DEVIL's grin most ICONIC Jersey number, worn by players with special talent & game changers.
From George Best, Eric Cantona, Beckham, CR7 etc. & one thing about them is they were Celebrity Footballers in their prime time.

Antonio Valencia tried wearing it at some point, but struggles, he requested back #25 number, he complained about the expectations that comes with the number #7.

Memphis Depay came &took #7 but the number heavy am for body grin he could not even deliver at all &he was sold.

Till Today the Magnificent #7 jersey number remains Vacant in Man Utd, waiting for the next SUPER STAR. smiley
