what CBN quote are discount rates, with these u can compute true yield;

True yield = (discount rate * 100)/(1 - discount rate)

eg, for discount rate of 17.4% u get (0.174 * 100)/(1 - 0.174) = 21.1% , this is d ROI on ur true principal.

True principal is the real money u are investing.

True principal = apparent principal * (1 - discount rate)

eg, for discount rate of 17.4%, apparent principal of 10m (the available money in ur account)
True principal = 10m * (1 - 0.174) = 8.26m

In other words u invest 8.26m to make 10m at end of tenure, a 21.1% ROI.

Forget the Short selling . It only work if u decide to SELL and not INVEST again or SELL and wait for RATE to INCREASE/DROP again.which is time consuming and not guarantee

Example below

1) : bought at 17.3 and sold at 15.6 Then 2wk or 2mths later buy again at 15.6 ..if the rate doesnt drop .

2) buy at 17.3...sale at 15.60 then u start praying for next auction bid to fall 15.10 so u can buy again ? what if it takes 2-4mth for rate to drop significantly ? 2-4mth someone else is getting 13%

3) factor in how long it might take for rate to drop significally ? could take 2weeks to 3mth what if the rate become stable at the price u sold it ealier ?

@chukzyfcbb Crypto trading very risky but I luv diversification , one of the best way to Reduce/manage RISK. Crypto return is superb but only for the experienced who knows how to take calculated risk. It is not easy.life itself is not easy.

My advice to anyone Reading this :

Only do T.BILL when U discover ur a spender.
Only do T.BILL When u have NO OTHER OPTION than SAVINGS ACCOUNT.

But

DON'T MISS ANY GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE OF T.Bill ( in real life ur decieving urself. )

I bidded with First Bank on Friday and after filling the form I was expecting them to remove the fund as usual but the fund is still there till now. Fxmanager is the same risk. You ask him if your money is 99% guarantee and trust if he say yes ask him for signed agreement with you because you need it as evidence/proof. Those telling you about forex, bitcoin, bla,bla,bla, watch them when the kasala will burst you will be shocked. Yes its paying and sweet now, but trust me they can never have hours of sleep like those in Treasury Bills because anything can happen. In Treasury Bills, you think First Bank or GTB or StanbicIBTC can vanish within a very short years? CAPITAL NO!

Treasury Bills is the best for now. You will have your investment certificate that will show all the investment details, your money is very safe with your bank! You can use your Treasury Bill certificate as collateral for loan, apply for visa applications as proof of investment, e.t.c. All you need to do is to Just visit your bank and tell them you want to invest in Treasury Bills and insist of Treasury Bills but not fixed deposit, then the rest will be history. Very simple, plain and safe!
