sobmos: Bros, please where do you read your news from? Read this Wikipedia link and show me where Pastors were mentioned as the target for those who can apply. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Million_Dollar_Paranormal_Challenge When did parapsychologists, magicians, etc become Pastors and Prophets? Or did you not read the criteria to apply? If you're too lazy to click the link to find out the criteria for applicants, let me paste it here for you. On March 8, 2011, the JREF announced that qualifications were being altered to open the challenge to more applicants. Whereas applicants were previously required to submit press clippings and a letter from an academic institution to qualify, the new rules now require applicants to present either press clippings, a letter from an academic institution, or a public video demonstrating their ability. The JREF explained that these new rules would give people without media or academic documentation a way to be considered for testing, and would allow the JREF to use online video and social media to reach a wider audience. You guys would just read something somewhere and in a rush to prove how knowledgeable you are, you begin to twist facts to suit your narrative all for cheap likes on Nairaland, Facebook and Twitter. |

bedspread: Ode. If you don't have atleast 50m in your account and you are tithing, you are such a big fool. Does dangote tithe? Does Bill gates, mark Zuckerberg etc tithe? Don't stand up and work, be looking for supernatural money. Deuteronomy 14 22 to 29 makes it clear to us how and where to pay your tithes. How does giving money to a pastor equate to giving to God? Even when Jesus said that whatsoever you do to the least of his brothers that you do unto him. No bible passage to support his, just sentiments and emotions! I have observed that most of those who didn't pay tithe are doing way better than the so called faithful tithers! I have very wealthy friends who don't pay tithes, neither do I. 5 Likes |

To those that are faithful tithers before Daddy freeze started freezing your mind, I have this to say to see if i can unfreeze you. I think those that are talking their tithe to the poor or ophanage homes are the one taking God's word with sentiment and emotions because no that the know tithing is bad but they feel they are enriching the rich and not God they are giving to. In as much as God ask us to give to the poor, releasing your resources to God is also paramount. Resources can come in any form; your time to serve God, your expertise to teach people freely, your money to support the kingdom, evangelism etc. Many of us like to attend churches with everything on point. Good structure, clean and clear sound system, fully air conditioned etc. we dont want to attend growing churches that the ground is not cemented, intense heat during service, poor sound system, wooding chair etc even though sound word of God is preached there. If you attend the church with "everything on point" and everbody dont pay tithe there, is it your 50 naira offering every sunday that the church will use to fuel the generator and maintain other resources? Please let us not deceive ourselves with what non church-goers says, put yourself in the position of the church administrator and see if a freewill offering will sustain the church needs. Giving to the poor without telling them about Christ and how to come out of poverty is a waste of resources. And these churches are really teaching, praying, and empowering people to get out of poverty, if such members get rich and will later say he/she will forget the source and give to the poor alone, thats evil. Those saying that pastors dont give bible verse to support tithing should tell government to give bible verse before they pay tax. It is in d law of nigeria to pay tax, so any non-tither should only attend churches that their doctrine doesnt talk about tithe, but if your church teaches tithe and u dont pay, its evil. Imagine a C&S church member wearing black to church, is that not evil and mockery? When you dont attend any church, nobody can ask you for tithe. Daddy freeze that you follow probably dont attend any church so i see no reason for him to pay tithe. US government cant ask for tax if you dont have any business in their country. if you attend a church and you are blessed by their resources, it is paramount that you give to support, and not of neccessity like tax, but of a cheerful heart and revernce to God as your source. You could ask the question that is it a pastor's law to pay tithe? It is written that Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever, yet people think God stops speaking to people after the book of Revelations. The Holy Spirit is given to reveal and teach us all things, things that God has said that are in the bible and things that God will say after the bible was written. So apart from what bible says about tithe, if God told a pastor that tithe is good, its all about your believe if d man is a real or fake pastor. If you say amen to the prayer of the pastor, you know he hears from God because he prophesy and comes to pass, i think its hypocrisy to think that the pastor did not hear from God about tithe. Or is there anybody or pastor that God reveal to that tithe is not good? Let him also come forward and say what God says. No sane man can tell me that smoking is good but yet its not written in the bible, can we now say smoking is good because the bible is silent about it? No, we use "your body is the temple of God to back it up" which speak nothing about smoking. In Conclusion I strongly believe that tithes should be paid by those that are born again and understands kindom principle because the tithe of an unbeliever is just a waste and abomination to God, thats why the focus of a true church is teaching about salvation first before teaching about tithe. Please let us not judge the pastors when we dont get close to them to know how tithe is spent. Many pastors are not called by God, their belly called them. But the few that are called by God has good testimony to share about the importance of tithe and what it is used for if we really get close to them. If we dont question the government what they do with our tax but leave them to efcc which are paid by tax to judge, then i wonder why people dont leave pastors to God to judge if tithe is not used for Him. Nobody can tithe if he/she has not been blessed, but tithe secures your blessing and rebuke devourers for your sake. Many say Dangote dont tithe and he is rich, even though they dont know anything about him and they just speculate. What if he is d back bone of these pastors private jets? Even if he doesnt tithe or support any church, what of those his employees that are paying tithe? Do you think God will let his business colapse and make thousands of tithe payers jobless? Dont be decieved, God cannot be mocked, whatever your sow, you shall reap. #HolySpiritTheBestTeacher #UnfreezingThe Sheeple 2 Likes |

One thing we should all get straight tithes is not a criteria to make heaven, tithe is not mandatory and on the flip side if you tithe please make it a relationship between you and God and not between you and your church/pastor IMO i ll say it's wrong to say i tithe because my pastor say so please correct that mentality and tithe because you want to bless others, that being said your tithe don't even have to go to church you can help the homeless, feed the poor...... according to Mathew 24: 31.....(please read pay attention and pray to understand) 31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”[/b] What does the Bible say? 1. James 1:25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. 2. John 13:17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them. 3. Luke 11:28 Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” 4. Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Spiritual blessings. 5. John 1:16 From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. 6. Ephesians 1:3-5 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 7. Ephesians 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. We are blessed to bless others. 8. Genesis 12:2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 9. 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 10. Luke 6:38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. Who are blessed? 11. James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 12. Matthew 5:2-12 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” 13. Psalm 32:1-2 How blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. How blessed is the person against whom the Lord does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 14. Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.” 15. Psalm 146:5 How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the LORD his God. The blessing of life. 16. Psalm 3:5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. Blessings in disguise. 17. Genesis 50:18-20 Then his brothers came and threw themselves down before Joseph. “Look, we are your slaves!” they said. But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” 18. Job 5:17 “Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.” 19. Psalms 119:67-68 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees. Children 20. Psalm 127:3-5 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court. Reminders 21. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 22. Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Examples 23. Genesis 22:16-18 This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me. 24. Genesis 12:1-3 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” 25. Deuteronomy 28:1-6 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.” Bonus 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Whatever happens, give thanks, because it is God’s will in Christ Jesus that you do this. 2 Likes 1 Share |

guassian: Where is it in the bible that Jesus or his apostles tithe please? Show me! The same Bible tells me what to do with my tithe in Deuteronomy 14 22 to 29, that is if I were to follow the teachings of tithes. Nowhere in the bible was money even recorded as tithe, it was purely agrarian to feed the Levi priest! If Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith never tithed, why should I tithe? If you must follow the mosaic law, follow it in totality and not cherry pick it. You should be killing first borns, marrying concubines, stoning non virgins to death,. Stoning prostitutes infront of the city! Oh when it comes to that, you then remember grace! Are the faithful tithers you know of richer than Dangote, Zuckerberg, Bill gates, the owner of Amazon, adenuga, otedola? Do those men tithe? 1 Like |

I really dont get what all this noise about tithing is all about . If you believe in tithing and you believe it is working for you and you are prospering financially and in order areas of life , then continue to pay your tithe . But if you don't believe in it let those that believe continue to pay at least it is not your money and nobody is forcing anybody to pay . 1 Like |

uyplus: Oh..... Ok.... Did Jesus gave offering? Or did his followers gave him offering? Yet he endorsed offering. Offering as money, the offering that was recorded in old testament is it in form of money? If 100 non-tithers are richer than 1,000 tithers and then, that same 1,000 tithers are richer than 1,000,000 other non tithers, so can we say about that? The 100 rich men that are non tithers how many lives are they influencing, the 1,000 tithers are taking gospel all over the world, influencing countless number of people. If people claim pastor buy private jet with tithe then it should be clear that his church members are not poor. I will ask you why people still name their child on eighth day, thats in old testament. I will not give u bible reference because you know it all, but it is written that the letter killeth but the spirit gives life. |

When I think of religion, I think of the Presidency. Some people seeking favours can choose to go through: 1. His son 2. The mother of the son 3. Members of the cabal. Then there are folks around who claim or rightly have access to the three listed above. That's where the hustle starts--the syndicate, the scammers, the realists, all jostling for cash from prospective beneficiaries. There are going to be a lot of disappointment along the way trying to separate the connected and the scammers especially as every middle person is name-dropping and claiming that the message is direct from Buhari. Assuming Buhari published his contact number in the national dailies, some folks believe that it is too good to be true and would rather try to reach him through a middle person. Of course, there are conditions (veiled bribery/tithes) that will benefit the hustlers in order to get connected to the Presidency. Key: son (Jesus Christ), mother (Virgin Mary), members of the cabal (saints), national dailies (bible). This is the concept of religion. / |

ogtavia: Is Apostle Suleiman a priest? Is he from the tribe of Levi? What the man of god does with the money should be our concern because the purpose of giving one tenth was spelt out in the Bible. Nothing more nothing less. Besides, Suleiman giving 15% is no more tithe. There was no were in the Bible it was said you can give a tithe beyond 10%. Tithe is tithe. Mind you, giving to God is not by giving to church. It's by giving to the poor among you. Read Matthew 25:34-end If you ask your self, why did God instruct the Israelites to tithe? For what purpose? And if we're able to answer that question, then will know whether you should be giving tithes or not. Why don't the pastor's that claimed to be priest do burnt offering? Why do they kill animals for sacrifices? Or they just chose one of the roles of the people they claim to be and jettison others? Like I always say, tithes wasn't for the whole of Israel. They were people who were into other professions. They were the carpenters, the blacksmiths who were even seen as one of the richest and skilled people. They werr traders and others. But the injunction was specifically for farmers, why, you can answer that your self. Let's not twist the Bible. Every word of God was written for our guidance. Anything outside of it is fake. The order to do not add or remove. Let's not be sentimental about this. Giving is something every Christian should do. The early Christians even sold their possessions and brought the money so they can share with those who don't have. So, you should give as you are led not by compulsion. |
