The house of God is not just the church u go to worship but other lives we can reach out to... And let me say it no pastor cares about you been blessed by paying your tithe though they say it, but there major concern is to see there is money to run the church or fill there pocket for those in that ministry. Tithing alone is no guarantee for ur success or salvation. And it must not be the church you worship that you pay tithe to... If I see a small growing church that needs things I will give in the tithe there...bcoz some store houses u call churches are filled up and over flowing while others are empty... If you are a believer be led by the Holy Spirit in all you do.. Not these men of God here and there.

I have posted this message in almost all posts on tithe...... Leviticus talks about tithes, Malachi made more emphasis on the law on tithes..... Hebrews 7:5-19 talks about tithes and how the law on tithes was being set aside. Christians are not meant to tithe o. But to give voluntary contributions not grudgingly or under compulsion. Any pastor demanding tithes are thieves. Also I don’t get it why pastors should be paid salaries. U mean they should be paid for serving God or teaching people about God. Serving God is not by force it’s free n no earthly reward should be associated to doin so. Else if u were to be paid for teaching Gods word den u have already being paid ur salvation. Na wa o Church business.

Pls can someone explain the difference between the storehouse and the temple in the old testament?
If the emphasis was on bringing tithes into the storehouse, why did Christ go against the God's command by emphasising giving out to the poor instead of bringing to the temple? Remember he told the rich man to sell all his property and give to the poor and not to the priests or him.
In sending out his disciples, why did Christ ask them to depend on charity instead of insisting on being paid for their services? Are our present men of God no longer Christ disciples?
Why did the apostles who were filled with the Holy Spirit go contrary to God's commandments by emphasising on giving instead of tithing? Did the apostles see themselves more as Christians than Jews who were not bound by Jewish religious obligations?

Prophet Jeremiah Distributes Husbands To Single Ladies In Church During Deliverance and said God is speaking

The Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, during a service in his church in Warri, Delta state, invited single men and women to the altar and ordered them to start choosing whoever they like for marriage

Is it your money? If people choose to tithe, it's their choice. Tithe has never been by force, it's a choice

"if you like pay, if you like dont pay" defence is getting too boring.

Can't you just justify the payment with a bible passage and let it rest.

The bible is also clear about cutting off your wife hands in the same Deuteronomy.
Deuteronomy 25:11-12 And about how a castrated person shouldn't enter the house of the lord.
Deuteronomy 23:1

I am surprised why your pastors sees only the tithing part.

That's what irritates me. They will conveniently excerpt a particular verse that suits them and discard other just to drive home their point.

Truth of the matter is tithing is no longer a legality like it was under the law. Jesus came and made tithing an act of faith.
Whether you have a car or not, you will get to your destination-just that one takes you faster and without stress. Thats how tithing is

Adenuga once told me Pastors Sam Adeyemi, Adeboye, David Oyedepo and Chris Oyakhilome belongs to a cult. How he knows i don't know. Maybe, they invited him to join. On his personal property line, i don't know if the house he resides in Oduduwa street in Ikeja GRA is his or the church.

Google about Oyedepo being a Freemason.
There is a link about him having occultic buildings.

Adeboye too na member proof in this video.

So if the store house is not the church, pls enlighten me.. And tell me how what abiara said is in variance to what the bible said.

Thanks

And store house was never a church. A store house is where food is stored.

Malachi was instructing the priests to bring the tithes (of food and other agricultural produce) into the store in order to feed the levis, the widows, the poor and the nation.

it's disheartening to read what the "pastors" said about tithing! Kaigama made the worst comment by saying the bible is not the constitution for Christians!! very sad! it then means anything goes! has he read 2Tim3:16-17 I advice us all to forsake these "men of God" and let's go back to scripture if anyone wants the truth!
simple check of tithe in the Bible says it's not even cash! farm produces and animals... then it's given to the levites! it's given ONLY in Jerusalem...even if you can't carry the goods, sell them then go to Jerusalem then buy back the stuff then give the tithe!!
pastors please do not joke with the Bible o! it was written by the Holy Spirit!

Face your life ,make your own money and buy your own private jet. Don't waste your life ranting on nairaland . if you're angry with this post, suicide is not an option.

And this spiteful post is coming from a supposedly tithe paying terrorist calling himself a Christian.
Is this how Christians speak?

In other words we should also discard the 10 commandments since its in the old testament.
And I hope u go to church with only a new testament bible

Well I read d old testament but I follow d rules of the new testament.. and the greatest commandment is love which Jesus himself gave us Christians.. u can't break any of the 10 commandments if u love God Nd Ur neighbor..
Hence Christians only follow Jesus teachings in d new testament.. or can u tell me one u follow aside tithe? then tell me why d early pastors insist on tithe

What is causing this problem is because we do not pay tax to the government! If one is paying like 25 percent tax tell me how one pastor will come and tell you to pay another ten percent as tithe !

And how do you know that no one has stopped paying tithes as a result of recent controversies on tithes? Do you expect everyone to go on radio or TV or even social media and announce " I have stopped paying tithes"?
The debate would certainly make some people to think deeper into the salvation by tithe doctrine being promoted by Nigerian pastors.

No body can force you from giving your money to anyone you wish, but promoting tithes as a way to salvation and the way to wealth and success is antithetical to societal development. It will create mass poverty and despondency. The only way to socio economic development is education, hard work and good value system.

Many people who claim to pay tithe &sow seeds in churches dont have genuine means of livelihood, looking at them spiritually where we dwell, people mostly do it thinking God will forgive their atrocities committed and prosper them whereas their money is not genuine and can't even do restitution which Jesus Christ commands if they are looking for words of Jesus Christ about money.

Paying tithes makes meaning if you have basic promises of Jesus Christ which is peace, light&unbeleivable power&Jesus knows you personally#do you sleep well at night after paying tithes,do evil people fear you?

We ask you the money you pay as tithe &seed sowing how genuine is it what is your source of money? If your source is Evil it's best you kept your money in your house hence, you are enriching the pastor or prophet who is not known to Jesus Christ &very many prophets& pastors who collect those tithes are not known to Jesus Christ &if as said it's offensive to you we are open to confrontation spiritually not like those daddy freeze who want physical debate ,no the things of spirit are not debated spiritually those who understand the spiritual knows where the battle field is not on social media.Be wise and know the truth that tithe is acceptable to Jesus Christ if your source is genuine spiritually and physically John 6,60-68

Some people bring damnation and curses upon themselves just because they want to be popular on social media. You cannot question God and his commandments. The person or people that started this problem of paying tithe already brought curses upon themselves. They are non Christians or canal Christians. True Christian will not just come on social media to cause controversy.
