Nah we don't need him any longer let's allow him enjoy his retirement in peace. What we owe him is his ceremonial match and maybe give him "Honorary Captain" as the Germans did for Lahm.

If you lose these matches you will demoralized the players, it’s better to play beatable team or teams that will allow us develop/showcase our strength. It’s good to go to the World Cup in high spirit.

Nigerian teams have generally played better against big teams.

They tend to be complaisant against smaller teams and end up struggling.

Let us face the big teams in the friendlies. After-all all the teams we are facing in the WC are big teams. Even Iceland.

A good number of those Nigerian players then were bullies. There was this Sunday Oboigbe that featured at Maroc '88, his face alone used to scare off opposing attackers. Oliha, Amokachi and Eguavoen were also bullies.

Someone like Bright Omakaro, after Nigeria collected a red card, broke the leg of an Algerian player so that both teams were balanced at 10-10. And not 10 against 11.

None of our players of today can do that for the team.

Ezekiel Targets First Turkish League Goal For Konyaspor Against Karabukspor

Nigerian striker, Imoh Ezekiel, hopes to end his goal scoring drought for Konyaspor when they host Karabukspor today (Monday) in the Turkish Super Lig clash, Comple tesportsnigeria.com reports.


Ezekiel has made nine appearances in the Turkish Super Lig (two starts and seven assists), and 13 in all competitions for Konyaspor since he joined from Qatari side, Al Arabi, last summer but has failed to score thus far.


“The goals will come, I just have to be patient,” Ezekiel told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
“It could come on Monday (today), who knows. I’m trying hard.”


Konyaspor are hanging perilously in the 17th position – relegation zone, in the Turkish Super Lig table with 11 points from 14 games .


Ezekiel was a member of Nigeria’s U-23 team to the Rio Olympic Games which won bronze medal . He has made one appearance for the senior national team, the Super Eagles.

Aina Rated Highly In Hull City Win Vs Brentford

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina earned top ratings following Hull City’s hard-fought 3-2 home win against Brentford in the Championshipon Saturday.


Hull recorded their first victory after going seven games without a win.
It was new manager Nigel Adkins’ first win since taking over from Leonid Slutsky.


Hull Daily Mail rated Aina, who played the full game, seven out of 10 for his impressive performance.

Other players who were rated seven were former Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell, former Arsenal and Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson, ex-Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson, Allan McGregor and Jackson Irvine.


The two highest-rated were Kamil Grosicki and Oudrej Mazuch who got eight, while Nigerian-born England junior international Fikayo Tomori and David Meyler got six.


Commenting on Aina’s performance, Hull Daily Mail wrote: “Began as a right winger to replace the injured Jarrod Bowen but returned to full-back to cover the loss of Clark for the second half. A useful contribution from the Nigeria international, working intelligently for his side.”

Ex-Porto Starlet Wants To Represent Nigeria At 2018 World Cup



Nigerian midfielder Irhene Fidelis Christopher has said he is good enough to be a member of the Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles.


The gifted midfielder who joined AEL Limassol of Cyprus at the beginning of the European season from Portuguese giants FC Porto has been a rave review in that country.


Fidelis, who spoke to
allnigeriasoccer.com ahead of his team's Monday clash with APOEL Nicosia, wants the Nigeria Football Federation and national team handlers to ransack the whole of Europe for quality players for the national team as he believes Nigeria has enough quality scattered all over the world to do well at the Fifa World Cup next year in Russia and beyond.


He also stressed that the NFF must look beyond 2018 as they rebuild the national team.


He went further to say Super Eagles defender cum midfielder, Shehu Abdulahi and himself are the biggest Nigerian exports in Cyprus and since Shehu has been given a chance he hope the handlers could extend an invitation to him as well.


Records have shown that the former Pawas Soccer Academy of Jos Man has been playing regularly in Cyprus since joining from Porto.


He however said in the absence of international football he wants to give his best to his team to help them rule Cyprus and regularly play in Europe.

There weren’t many winners from Saturday’s games wearing Blue, but Victor Moses was one of them.

Moses was brought on not long into the second half to replace Marcos Alonso, but it could easily have been for Davide Zappacosta, who was hauled off not long after for Willian.


Both of the full backs had shockers, and Moses looks a better option than either at the moment.


Moses played last week as he returned from injury, and it seemed Zappacosta would play in midweek then Moses yesterday.


But Moses ended up playing against Madrid too, and clearly 4 games in two weeks was too many for a player who was only returning from a two month layoff in the first game of that run.


If Chelsea had a competent backup leftback to Marcos Alonso, he could have played when Alonso needs a rest rather than shifting Zappacosta there and playing Moses too, so that the Nigerian wasn’t ready to play yesterday.
