Beautiful thread I must say, give some of us the opportunity of seeing beautiful places through another person's eye.

NYC is a shithole if you dont have a lot of money or you are not white. Forget about all those fancy pictures and skyscrapers. Very depressing place especially in winter and also ridiculously expensive and the hoods are crime ridden and poverty ridden with a very high crime rate, you wouldn't understand until you live there not visiting.

Wow nice experience from my sit here I got transported to NYC by living vicariously through your pictures. Even with all the katapult of envy fired your way in all shades and sizes. Na dem tire... keep it up . May you have safe travels on all your trips n many more to come. And for everyone that hasn't left the shores of naija...yours will come to pass very soon and when you do be good representatives of your mother land. Travelling while expensive, is one of life's experiences one has to embark on. Switzerland is on my travel wish list, just gotta see those Alps.

It's just regular cold in NY. Freezing point is 32 degrees Celsius and I think it gets lower than 32 in winter. Talking of cold... Mid-west states like Minnesota, North/South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa etc... even gets colder in winter (Sub-Zero <0 degrees in January and Feb.). In January, a hot boiling water would normally evaporates when you pour it out into the air... That's the definition of COLD!

In NYC there's nothing geographical to stop the building of high rises. NY is solid rock. Local zoning and other laws are the only hindrance... but even those are now being pushed aside. E.g.... if the houses in a blog were up to 5 storey. ... you were not allowed to build a 40 storey high rise in that block...basically...the block has to be uniformed.
