TheGoodJoe:thegoodjoe hope you remember vividly when i told you sometimes ago to go back to sport section that you are not needed here(political thread) This is one of the reason, the political thread is another thing entirely and if care is not taken you say what you are not supposed to say cos guys their are ready to frustrate you with their comments so sometimes better to read and leave. I was on general thread yesterday and a moniker said something about Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo of COZA and i was forced to reply against my wish cos Pastor Fatoyinbo is a great childhood friend,we went to the same schools in neighborhood and went to the same university, very close pal but seeing somebody telling me he knows him very well and try to ridicule him with lies,i just need to come out and say stopped you don't know him and the moniker refused to press further. So sometimes better to read and leave cos some of you guys here are popular through this thread and any of your comment you make out of annoyance guys are ready to use it against you. 3 Likes |

Humility017: Get my stance. I don't clamor for untested players. At best I may clamour for there invitation to camp. It is left for the coaches to field who ever they want. They see them in camp and know what they are capable of.But from my position as a TV viewer I cannot stick my neck out on a player that has not undergone that test and say he is the best or better. I cannot stop Rohr from making Uzoho first choice for the world cup but there is no way judging from that 45mins play I will conclude Uzoho is the best. He has not undergone the type of tests Ezenwa went through. If you have followed the world cup well enough you'll understand that Nigeria is an underdog in this tourney and we will be severely under attacks from our more illustrious opponents. The goal keeping department is a critical issue. If I remember the kind of saves Enyeama was making in our last two world cups I would become afraid that do we have any keeper in the team that can do such? Believe me when we play Argentina again you will see a completely different Argentine team in terms of attack. Expect fire and crackers from the Croatians on our match day one. This is why I would want Enyeama back. On Uzoho, he, IMO is not tested enough for me to conclude he would do the job better than Ezenwa.Let me see him again in another friendly. Until then let me sit with the devil I know before I clamour for an angel I don't know that may even become a worse devil. Maybe it is due to my kind of profession where there is little or no room for errors, which will definitely lead to loss of heavy investments, I don't trust untested and unproven professionals. That is me. 1 Like |

g0tze: Please stop crying foul and disturbing us here. Your initial comment made me go to that thread, although I hardly read threads in the politics section because of tribalism. To my surprise, you were among the first set of people that made tribalistic comments in that thread (If you like delete it, I already have screenshots of the comment). So please stop being hypocritical. Even the person you're accusing hard made any comment of his own. He just copied and pasted excerpts from some published materials. Please deal with anything tribal in your politics section. Don't polute this place for us. Thanks 7 Likes 1 Share |

Icon4s: your words are aptly put though... so unfortunate we find ourselves in this situation...I believe rohr should have been allowed to manage this CHAN team wit yusuf...the sentiment of our indigenous coaches is alarming....for several years keshi kept inviting agbim for the SE role even when it was obvious to all and sundry that the dude was a basket... goal keepers like akpeyi were glued to the bench..and the best goalies like Thomas, theophilus and others were ignored.... I don't know the rationale for his actions even during CHAN and agbim awful performance against Mozambique and Morocco he still kept playing him and even took him to the world cup....it took the south Africa friendly game. for akpeyi to show he was far better than agbim....and here how ezenwa kept to make the eagles list all this while baffle me...even when he never command a starting shirt for his team.....and here we have ajiboye sitting on the bench...alloy agu will still try as much as possible to pass this ezenwa our throat as much as he can.... I will prefer both be tried in this LMC Super 6 tournament.... theoplhilus we already know how good he is...ezenwa is ahead but for ajiboye let him get some minutes of actions so as to enable us know what he can bring to the table when called upon . 2 Likes |

A Pointer ; please what's Deportivo B's position in the Segunda B? Did u know that Uzoho, with his heroics between the sticks, is on the verge of promoting his team to the Segunda division where Ondoa is a bench warmer? Dude didn't get demoted because he was poor, only the coach knows why he sent him back to the B team. He is definitely better than Pantillimon and will be taking Panti's place in the first team to contend properly for the first choice when Panti's loan expires by the end of the season. Dude is also about the best goalie in the division he currently plies his trade. 7cleansheets in 10 appearances no be beans. Even Enyeama who just came back, conceded in a division lower than this Segunda B. Not comparing the two but if Enyeama failed to turn up, Uzoho gets my nod. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Kai ma na!!!! Enyeama dey go am for wolu cupu. GERNOT ROHR NOT GIVING UP ON VINCENT ENYEAMA by Graeme Jackson Monday Dec 11, 2017. 13:30 Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr still wants to have Vincent Enyeama in his 2018 FIFA World Cup squad and has opened the doors for the experienced goalkeeper. Media reports suggest that the former Super Eagles skipper, who announced his retirement from international football in October 2015, had ruled out a return. However, Rohr says Enyeama could earn a recall as he faces a goalkeeper crisis after first choice Carl Ikeme was diagnosed with leukemia. "Coach Rohr had a productive chat with Enyeama and made it clear that he should focus on getting fit and enjoy a playing run," team spokesperson Toyin Ibitoye told BBC Sport. ZAMBIA FACE SWAZILAND IN MUST-WIN U20 COSAFA CUP MATCH "Contrary to local media reports, the professional talks between both of them remains unchanged, there are conditions involved and as long as it's adhered to, Enyeama stands a World Cup chance." The BBC reports that Daniel Akpeyi has failed to impress and his replacement Ikechukwu Ezenwa lacks composure, while young Francis Uzoho is inexperienced. "It's very important to respect those who are currently with the team. The likes of Akpeyi, Ezenwa, Alampasu, Uzoho and Ajiboye all need the support of our fans," Ibitoye added. "Coach Rohr insists we should not let the talk of Enyeama deprive others of their deserved respect. With these goalkeepers and Carl Ikeme we achieved World Cup qualification. "We appreciate what Enyeama has done in the past and he also needs our support right now. His experience is good for the country and only coach Rohr has to make the final call when the time comes." http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/914738928?-21310:11479:1 1 Like |

Kog45: Kunle Odunlami, and Shehu Abdullahi were two major revelations from the 2014 CHAN. Going into that WC Keshi already had his backline settled. Odunlami was a CB. But we already had Omeruo, Obaobona, Egwekwe and Yobo in the team, all CBs, carried over from the 2013 AFCON winning squad. Odunlami's exceptional abilities could not be put aside an so a space was created for him at RB instead where we already had Efe Ambrose. He couldnt have displaced Ambrose and so was a back up RB. Omeruo and Obaobona were in a form of their lives and they had built a very solid partnership right from the AFCON and no way Odunlami could have broken that partnership. Coaches rarely break a CB pairing especially if it is a partnership that has achieved results. Just like it is not likely for any player to break the current Ekong-Balogun partnership baring any injuries. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kog45:Kunle Odunlami was a very reliable, strong and surprisingly skillful defender. He particularly impressed me in a game which he had his head cut and he played on with a bandaged head and yet hands on the best player on the pitch. He went to Sudan the last time I checked. 1 Like |

ChrisKels: This boys just making me proud. He's got my vote, I don't think Iv ever seen a super eagles goalie who has such excellent ball distribution skills as this guy, IMO aside after IKEME he's about the most morden golie the SE have. His confidence in 45 mins beats anything Iv seen in our goalies. Gernot trusts the guy. But I still believe so much in Alampasu, I feel when he reaches his potential he's gonna be our no 1. 2 Likes |

tbaba1234: I don't like using hindsight to judge. At that world cup, even the much heralded Vic Moses was absolutely poor. His contribution was dire. If things had gone South for him at club level and found himself in Kazakhstan like Nathan Oduwa, you wouldn't have singled him out as one of the good players. You forgot that prior to the world cup, these same set of players played friendly games and impressed against Catalonia, Peru, Scotland and Italy Nigerians practically begged for Azeez and Uzoenyi to be introduced. Uche Nwofor impressed massively with Venlo and was the top scorer for the flying Eagles in Colombia. 2 Likes |

goldfish80: Uche Nwofor was a pretty decent player then. I was one of his heavy fans. A typical quick strong number 9. How many of those Keshi's 2014 WC players' careers went South since after that WC is baffling. That is why we failed to qualify for the 2015 AFCON. 6 Likes |

goldfish80: Keshi benched Moses after 52 minutes of game 1. He did not play again. Uzoenyi showed nothing in the friendlies, superb in CHAN. Azeez was average. I am ok with Nwofor being on the list, he was decent. Rueben Gabriel should never have made that team. The game against USA was the biggest warning sign that we did not have a squad. Good first 11 but no squad 3 Likes |

tbaba1234:It seems to me that Keshi loved to test himself along the hard Road. I don't think it's right to say Keshi went for the best. No. Keshi went for very average players trusting that his tactical approach will work the magic. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by goldfish80(m): 9:10am On Dec 12, 2017 |
tbaba1234: Moses was dire in the game against Iran. He touched he ball just 13 times in his time on the pitch. He deservedly lost his place in the team afterwards. I even forgot to add Mikel Obi himself didn't exactly cover himself in glory @ that world cup. He was as average as others, you may not want to admit it, but you can't prove me wrong. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 9:11am On Dec 12, 2017 |
Kog45: The thing is we are always too quick to push away an old player when you see a new player even if the new player is untested. How can someone prefer Agbo to Omeruo? A new player that has no pedigree would always appeal to them more than a proven player. Some say I am resistant to changes and stuffs like that. If left to some even Mikel Agu would have replaced Mikel Obi. 1 Like |

goldfish80: so all the blame can't go to keshi alone then, we Nigerians piled up pressure on him to select some players which is what we are also doing now. This is what I keep saying, when things go wrong, we blame the coach forgetting that we also made input into the team selection. This is why am too cautious on the way we are throwing up names of players who were never in the radar before. God help us o! 1 Like |
