Zambia are now just 3 points away. Trust that this night they will start their own investigations.

The records would now be Algeria 3-0 Nigeria!
And some say it doesn't matter that nobody is above mistake. Gushh....it could have been worse. What if Shehu had collected that second Yellow against Cameroon in Younde? It means it would have been that crucial Zambia game in Uyo that we would have forfeited 3-0 to Zambia! God forbid.

Nigerians make excuses for incompetence. There are no excuses for this error. It is way too costly.. I hope a serious reorganization is carried out.

Absolute trash! you're encouraging incompetence right?? There is no where in the world were such level of negligence to duty is pardoned. Mistakes ko. people make mistakes in exam and yet they are still failed. As a pharmacist, if i dispense the wrong medication to your loved one leading to loss of life. will you pardon me for such?
am not in any way encouraging incompetence...

Mistakes happens in life and we can do nothing about it...years to come this thing will repeat itself in one way or the other...

Madrid was disqualified from copa del Rey last season...life went on...

Whether u sack the whole board or not...it doesn't stop mistakes from happening and repeating itself.. this is the first of its kind in Nigeria football am hearing so something might have slipped somewhere...

I still maintain that sacking will not be the best remedy and action against this act but hence the culprits should tighten up and letting their consciences be there guards next time...

is it the duty of the NFF Secretary or the role of technical committee to keep records of this kind?
that technical committee problem is that they don't know their jobs..made up of ex-internationals only concerned wit trying to squeeze their players into the national team.

if u manage to kill my loved one...I will retaliate in every way possible..sacking u is absolutely out of the picture ...and moreover sacking u won't stop subsequent mistakes from happening believe u me..

People who make mistake at work are reprimanded. That is how Life is... If not by an outright sack, a fine or suspension. It does not negate the good that NFF has done.
lol...that's what u think...now let me tell u what's in board..

Some do mistake and get away with it. .

Some do mistakes and gets sacked...

While some do mistakes and gets cautioned..to learn from the mistakes, not let that happen again...

So now I ask u...if u 're to do a mistake in ur place of work..which option will u like to choose

Now do others as u would like done to u cool

If anyone could have made such a mistake how come we didn't hear of such mistake from other world cup qualifying teams?

How do we achieve greatness as a nation when we give excuses for mediocrity.

If you know me I dont excuse mediocrity. If we want to punish someone, then its fine by me

It is like you do not understand the gravity of what has just happened?

The NFF have already stated on their Twitter account that a disciplinary action would be taken after a thorough investigation.

This complacency is too expensive.

I have stated as I would like it to be treated..it's now left for the nff lead committee to do theirs as it pleases them...

Different strokes for different folks...

But I still maintain it doesn't stop subsequent mistakes from happening. ..maybe not even in this manner but in another scenario all together..

What I suspect would have happened is they probably were aware of Shehu's yellow card against Swaziland but lazily assumed that it would be wiped off automatically as we progress to the next round.

They probably didn't go the extra mile to find out the FIFA rule concerning that in this particular tournament.

Just like a lot of people were talking about head to head being used as a qualifying criterion prior to the Zambia game in Uyo (including Peterside Idah). Meanwhile for this particular edition of qualifiers it is goals difference.

There must be people in the technical committee whose job it is to read and interpret these FIFA rules.

Life lesson

Try to be excellent at all time, average might get you there, but might not be enough to keep you there..

Just imagine the the bad belle, that went to expose that flaw to FIFA..
Some People want to see you fail, that's the honest truth, so you should try and be thorough and detailed in what you do, strive for excellence, leave room for little mistakes, because mistakes are inevitable, so when you make them, they would only shake you a little, and not fall you down completely..

Drops pen.. Sorry I mean keypads grin

My point exactly. Striving for excellence is key. Imagine if we had drawn the matches against Zambia and only needes the draw against Algeria to qualify.

Sportsmanship?

Algerian FA will call Pinnick and tell him not to field Shehu that he is on a yellow card?

If the Algerian FA can be aware why can't our own FA be aware?

Quit defending those guys cos the more you defend them the more annoying this blunder becomes.

I'm so pissed right now and Google could have prevented this. Nigerian people and our lack of attention to detail very annoying. Sweat of hardwork to earn unbeaten run down the drain. Most painful part Tyrone would have been easily capped. Someone has to be punished for this error if not we will never learn

NFF is a big disgrace to Nigeria
With this attitude how can we go far in the WC
If little important administrative details are so easily overlooked, I wonder how we can pay attention to details in securing a formidable team for the WC
This is a condemnable act and heads should go for it!

you're right....I think right and sane mind should be drafted into these ....rather than stick to the old fashcommitteeioned rule of indulging ex-internationals in their numbers....
yeah it is a good thing....but you see recruitment should never be based on sentiment...but rather competence.
those who know their onions should be manning that role being that it is a very delicate unit.

Our beaten run against Algeria since 1990 gone!
Last time we lost a competitive game against an African team by more than 2 goal Margin was in 1990. That one too gone!

We dropped 9 positions by drawing Algeria. Now it is a loss. By the time the Ranking calculation is adjusted your guess is a good as mine.

They'll give it to a rival team in another group, like Ghana. LOL

Cape Verde made an error like this that cost them last world cup though they also benefited from same error. Cape Verde initially topped their group after they were awarded 6 points against Equatorial guinea but later lost 3 points to Tunisia, ensuring their elimination in 2nd round.

Things like this can easily be automated with a database and a simple programming from Computer Village. How come we hardly hear of issues like this outside Africa?
