Algeria couldn't have gotten a wind of this information if they didn't act on a tip off by a Nigerian journalist. This was how journo from Ibadan made $2000 from Etoile du Sahel in 2012 when he sold them information about the contractual snafu between 3Sc and Rangers over Emmanuel Daniel. Rangers forfeited the match after beating Etoile over 2 legs.
The Tunians went on to win the Confederations cup that year.
I can bet my car keys a Nigerian journalist sold this information to Algeria.

Lmaoooooo what are the NFF technical committee smoking?? This is how they didn't tell Siasia we only needed to beat Guinea by one and we missed Afcon 2012.
Inexcusable error...imagine if we were only a point or two ahead of Zambia?? This is crazy.
Come to think of it, why would Algeria report this now?? What do they stand to gain?? Petty but we'll within their rights tbh. Maybe we should've tested Aina and Ebuehi like most wanted...this wouldn't have happened.

It is not about emotions. This is not a simple mistake, it could easily have been extremely costly.

Accountability is important. That is where disciplinary actions come in. Steps must also be taken to reduce the chances of reoccurrence.

The NFF is working on that and I don't think any of us can dictate to them how they discipline their erring staff. Thankfully, it's not that costly.

I see a learning experience afterward.

And we also missed out 2006 world cup cos they didn't know it's head-to-head and not goal difference.

And we also waited for the referee to tell us that it's intention he punish by awarding an undue penalty against us.

People die regularly from doctor's incompetence in Nigeria.

I know someone who was given an IV of glucose but this man was diabetic. It took an observant visitor who was also a doctor to observe the anomaly otherwise the man would have died from incompetence.

Someone will then tell you, everyone makes mistakes after all he has been saving/serving others.

Ebuehi suppose start and finish that match but the coach was busy playing pranks.

Thank God we have already qualified else the second best could have just replaced us if the 3 point will make dem top the league.

Anderlecht Advised To Buy Another Striker: Onyekuru Belongs To Everton

Belgian First Division A champs Anderlecht have been advised to scour the transfer market for an alternative to Henry Onyekuru as the Nigeria international could return to his parent club Everton in the next six months or even in January.
Even though Onyekuru has often been criticized by manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck for unnecessary showboating as you would expect from a young player, the fact is the Nigerian has delivered for Anderlecht, topping the goal charts with nine goals after the latest round of matches.

Former Anderlecht striker Gilles De Bilde reckons that the club will encounter problems if Onyekuru returns to Everton.

He told Het Laatste Nieuws : ''In spite of everything, his figures are good, he gets his return, but he is hired and at the end of the season he is basically away or with some bad luck maybe even this winter. So in the long run ... ''

The 20-year-old Onyekuru penned a multi-year contract with Everton in the summer before he was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht after failing to obtain a British work permit.

He is contention to be included in Nigeria's squad list for the 2018 World Cup.

7 reasons why Nigeria was sanctioned

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Was Sanctioned For Fielding An Ineligible Player In The Match Between Algeria And Nigeria On 10 November 2017 World Cup Qualifier.

Reasons Why Nigeria Was Sanctioned In The World Cup Qualifier

1. ABDULAHI SHEHU got yellow card right from first match (preliminary rounds) of the qualifiers against Swaziland in Swaziland.

2. When the draws for group stage were made the technical staff assumed the cards from preliminaries would not count going forward and didn’t take proper records. Indeed throughout the qualifying series Adullahi Shehu has never been counted as being on yellow even by the match documents such as when we played Cameroon Mikel, Moses and Balogun were all put on notice they are on a yellow and so there was even a meeting before the game how to make their yellow cards so as not to miss the decisive next match but Abdullahi Shehu was never in the mix…

3. Abdullahi got yellow card from the penultimate match against Zambia which is two years since the first match where he got the first Yellow (note we played the preliminary rounds against Swaziland in November 2015 under Sunder Oliseh and played the Zambia match in November 2017).

4. FIFA sent notice after the match against Zambia that Shehu is suspended for Algeria match but sent the email directly to the technical officer in charge, whom incidentally was hospitalized at that period with a serious heart problem so was not on emails and couldn’t have seen it.

5. On match day against Algeria neither the match Commissioner was aware nor the away team and ABDULAHI played the match without any protest or notice from either side.

6. Algerian never protested as they too are not aware but FIFA sent NFF a query to ask why the player played. NFF duly responded with proofs that the notice was sent to an email account of a technical staff that was Hospitalized with proofs. The FIFA disciplinary committee met and decided since previous emails has always been sent to same account and were taking so the notice is valid and sanctioned Nigeria..

7. Yes it’s a really a bad mistake but thank God it’s not costly and NFF is already reorganizing the Technical and Competitions departments to ensure this horrendous mistake never happened again, as this mistake is clearly the lack of delingence of the Technical department and the Competitions departments…

If they had given Ebuehi his debut that day we would have had
1-the advantage of giving him his debut and settled the issue of his international allegiance once and for all
2- gotten to see him perform as a RB and plus the match against Argentina we would have gotten a very good idea of his qualities
3-avoided this disheartening situation we now have with FIFA fines and deduction of points.
Playing Shehu in that match was not necessary indeed now it has proved costly.

isn't the mail used in communicating the official mail of the NFF? if it is, then whether the person is hospitalized or not another person can still view the mail from time to time

But where the mail isn't the official mailing address of the nff then I think the fault is partly from fifa then

Shebi we want to punish people abi? If we really want to punish, then I say punish everyone, starting from Pinick to Gernot Rohr himself and his coaching crew

What is the job of the technical committee that they have to wait for one fifa email to know who is on yellow card alert?
Then i would also say Rohr too is incompetent because he wasnt thorough enough in setting up his team. He too should have a dossier on all the players at his disposal. Question their role in this as well

Punish the fans too for not picking this up as well as knowledgeable as the fans are. They should av waved the red flag immediately Rohr invited Shehu too.

Punish pinnick too for not knowing every detail, and for firing and hiring coaches at will which led to oversight on the part of Rohr!

We are all talking. Lets not also forget to punish the Fifa appointed match commissionser too. Cos he too was supposed to know. What was his job?

Una don see say if heavens dey fall, no be one man matter? Shebi una wan punishment.. Oya na, make heads dey roll.

Sorry if that hit you hard.

I was really pissed by those NFF guys.
In fact I am still pissed.

The technical staff just ASSUMED that the yellow card will not count after the preliminary stage.

Meaning they were aware but just assumed.
It was a one month period between the Zambia and Algeria game. Couldn't they have written to FIFA to confirm or verify?

Firstly the CHAN is classified on the same level with international friendlies. And so each game carries 1point and not 3points as you stated.

Look at the other teams in our group: Libya, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea. These are lowly ranked teams that we are expected to beat. Just a lose or draw against any one of them is enough to negate the whole ranking points even if we win the other 2 group games. So we must claim all 9points. That is my point.

You guys won the last argument concerning FIFA rankings, but your first paragraph is a big lie.

CHAN is fully accepted by FIFA as Confederation's Regional tournament and its full ranking multiplier is 3.
