No you don't need transit visa as long as you remain in the terminal and dont come out or pass through immigration control

Anyone with a valid USA visa does not need transit visa for UK and most European flights . I am 100 percent sure

Community Colleges are a bit like our polytechnics. Imagine someone telling you they need a visa to Nigeria just to go to the poly for a 12 to 24month duration course.

The hours are more flexible too so it might imply you're more interested in getting a job than studying, the primary intent of issuing you an F1.

They are created to build artisan skills like hair dressers, barbers, mechanics, AC servicing or mid level health industry manpower like medical technicians, medical records, lower cadre nurses etc

It's meant really for producing much needed American manpower for the immediate needs of the American Economy. They don't do full nursing degrees or produce doctors etc. That's for the 4 year university programmes.

Ace your GRE and go for a rated university. Your chances of getting an international job out the gate are better

There is no way you can convince any VO except there is a miracle somewhere. Best to defer and dont waste money on scheduling interview

my dear there is nothing serious to worry about in the quant section, there are a lot of books that start from the very scratch like the Manhattan series. Make sure you read such books, moreover, the quant section does not test you on complex and advanced mathematics. it analyses your reasoning skills using basic mathematics. Ace the GRE to increase your chances of scholarship, it will also increase your chances of securing a visa.

All what you need to do is to get an extension Letter from your school to enable you convince the VO that you have been permitted to resume behind schedule.

Hello fam. You guys are the bomb. My visa was approved this morning 13th... Lagos.
I got into Lagos yesterday and lodged at New World hotel in Obalande. It's less than 10 minutes to the embassy. I was interviewed by the black woman in window 4. She was sharing blue paper like biscuit. She denied my friend who I went with. Here's my transcript

VO: (smiling back at me) good morning ma'am

ME: good morning ma

VO: pass your passport and i20. Where are you going to in the US

ME: i'm going to Ball State University in Muncie Indiana

Vo: what's your major

Me: Computer Information Systems

VO: what's your highest degree

ME: BA English Language

VO: why the change to Computer Information System

ME: I caught a passion for IT while in the uni. And as the media director in school I had a lot to do with the computer. Also Nigeria is transferring her business processes from manual to automated so acquiring technical skills will make me remain relevant in the Nigerian business world. I hope to build business modules and softwares that will revolutionize the Nigerian business world. (she was nodding at this point so i continued) I hope to run projects with organisations like Andela that are promoting ICT to women in developing countries like Nigeria to close the gender gap between the male and females in the ICT field in Nigeria. Me: yes ma'am. I did a short course on Data and statistical Analysis and also on computer networking, Cisco networking to be precise

So why will a VO delay my visa only because I applied to community colleges and why are there more international students in some community colleges

1. I didn't say community colleges were the same as polytechnics. I intentionally said a 'bit' like because it was the closest equivalent comparison i could find in Nigeria. This is so you can understand the pedestal a VO views applications from

2. That you applied to a community college does not mean you won't or can't get an F1 visa

3. If an F1 visa was a game of chances your odds are better if you were going to a rated university and had a GRE/GMAT (Postgraduate) or SAT (Undergraduate). These also open scholarship avenues for you with good scores.

4. Most of the unemployment in America is people with skills closest to or equal to minimum wage. Managers find it really tough to hire qualified 4 year college graduates in niche STEM courses. They are scarce.

5. Like I said somewhere, a non immigrant interview is sometimes like an audition for a potential future American. No one wants to bring in or train at the lower skill level and choke the barely managed unemployment level at the minimum to post-minimum wage level.

6. You can still get your F1 if you can present a superior argument with compelling reasons, of course subject to the final decision and assessment of an interviewing VO

If you are confident enough to clearly articulate why CC and what it can do for you .... then go for it. I have seen approval for cc , although on a smaller scale but it very possible
