Kudos to Gionee service center in Ikeja. I slept on my phone and my screen started malfunctioning. Lines started appearing on the screen anyhow. I took it to them last Saturday. They told me they will get back to me in 3-5 days time and if it involve me paying money, they will lete know. On Tuesday they sent me a message that my phone was ready for pick up. Was busy all week at work and couldn't go. Picked it up for free today. My warranty has expired since sef. 10k I budgeted for the screen will now go into Sat flexing.

Guys, please I need a phone that is up to 6 inches in screen, Amoled display.. (I can't use ips display anymore) at least 64gb rom and 4gb ram, battery of not less than 5000mah and with a very very good camera.
Could be tecno, infinix etc. I would have gone for Samsung Galaxy s8 but the battery and snapdragon processor. I need an MTK chip.

Any hope on getting updates

Hi guys. I have this Gionee m5 mini that has refused to see mobile networks.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

What I've tried -
1. I removed the battery and sim cards for some minutes and reinserted.

2. I tried to set the network operator to automatic, but I get this error 'cannot connect to this network right now, please try again later'

3. I'm updating the device right now to Android 6.0(Marshmallow) - i dont know if this will fix the issue though.

4. I've also considered restoring to factory settings, but I only want to do that as a last resort.
