Even Argentinian fans show us a lot of respect, let us appreciate ourselves. Some even prefer our jersey to that of Croatia.
human beings tends not to value much what they have...it's a normal thing every where in the world especially us Nigerians

I can't for the life of me know why Shehu had to play that match. Not pranks by Rohr though. Pranks for what na?

When I dey talk, people think say I dey craze. Now, eyes go clear.

I still insist our players must be lectured about the rules of the game prior to the WC else we go hear am if Akpeyi do the same mistake or if Shehu tries to retaliate instead of dramatising the whole issue.

Ambrose Earns Praise, Makes Official Scottish League Team Of The Week

By James Agberebi:

Hibernian’s Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose has been included in the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) Team of the Week. His inclusion was confirmed on the SPFL official website on Tuesday.

His selection was as a result of his impressive performance against his former club Celtic where he scored as they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in a league clash on Sunday.

It was his first goal in all competitions for Hibernian this season.

According to the SPFL, the Team of the Week which is in a 3-4-3 formation, places Ambrose on the right side of a three-man back line.

Commenting on Ambrose’s performance, SPFL wrote: “Four goals and plenty of thrills at Easter Road as Hibs and Celtic indulged in another titanic battle. While showing his usual confidence in possession, Ambrose also impressed in his defensive duties as Hibs fought valiantly against the might of Brendan Rodgers’ side. Then there was the centre-back’s goal, which got Hibs back into the match at 2-1.”

Ambrose completed a move from Celtic to Hibs last summer after an initial loan deal in February, 2017.
He is the only Hibernian player in the Team of the Week.

CHAN is a recognised FIFA A level tournament.

Caf President Issa Hayatou told Goal that Fifa is recognising Chan as an official ‘A level’ tournament with ranking points . Hayatou told us that Caf has plans for Chan growing as strong as the Afcon. Igesund himself was delighted to hear that South Africa could benefit from a long Chan campaign and improve our rankings as planned.

OK.

Back to my point.

It is a more reason why we must not lose or play a draw with any of Libya, Equatorial Guinea and Rwanda. These are lowly ranked teams that a slip up in any of the games will further deepen our ranking points. Even with this 3-0 loss to Algeria sef.

Looks like the major positives from that CHAN are to see Ezenwa and probably Ajiboye in action.

If they had given Ebuehi his debut that day we would have had
1-the advantage of giving him his debut and settled the issue of his international allegiance once and for all
2- gotten to see him perform as a RB and plus the match against Argentina we would have gotten a very good idea of his qualities
3-avoided this disheartening situation we now have with FIFA fines and deduction of points.
Playing Shehu in that match was not necessary indeed now it has proved costly.
rohr really need advisers...sometimes i doubt the intelligence of yusuf salisu and co who are his Nigeria colleagues....
those men...have little knowledge of the game of football.

even the nff spokesperson...you see how he showcased his knowledge regarding this ebuehi issue that day....even me who just started following up super eagles won't make such blunders.....

the problem we have in the super eagles are the indigenous if those guys where really livin up to expectations rohr wont have need for so many foreign assistants he has been recruiting.....

just imagine alloy agu....look at the way he has been handling super eagles goal keeping department over the past years...don't forget he worked wit oliseh too.....
but uptil now...those of us...who are spectators and fans even know the best goalie in the domestic scene and from the few minutes we have assessed the domestic goal keepers we have got knowledge of how good they're but that alloy agu.... has refuse to see things in this light....

I just pray they give all the goal keepers opportunities to prove themselves in this Super 6 LMC tournament

Ordinarily we shouldn't have a problem getting out of this group. Being a world cup year, the players are extra motivated to do well and gatecrash into the final 35 man list for the main team.
In 2014 we saw our CHAN team play some scintillating football and got bronze for their efforts. Our ranking will get unprecedented boost if this team could replicate the achievement of the 2014 team.
My only reservation is the inactivity of npfl players since the league won't be starting till January.

I do sincerely hope they will boost the ranking and not do a further damage.

On the prospects of players making it to Russia. Sorry I don't think any outfield player stands a chance. At least it is not looking likely. The only players in that tourney that stand the chance are Ezenwa and Ajiboye.

On issue of inactivity, that is not much of a problem because the super6 is ongoing and the CHAN team is one of those participating. Even as the league may not have commenced early in January that will afford the team ample time to camp, play friendlies and perfect their strategies.

One notable error by the NFF in the past:

1992 AFCON qualifiers, Nigeria vs Burkina Faso: The Super Eagles had arrived match venue only to find out they were without their proper jerseys. It was almost kick off time. They only had their top jerseys and track suits which they got an emergency tailor to cut the trousers to shorts right their in the dressing room. The proper jerseys arrived before the commencement of the second half. We scored 5 goals in that second half with the proper jerseys.
Nigeria won that game 7-1.

You have made a valid point here.

1. What percentage of the Nigerian population has access to the internet?

2. Of the percentage that has access to the internet how many were aware of such voting contest?

3. Of those that were aware how many are interested in our national team issues.

Believe it or not we are giant of Africa only in population. Technologically we are not. Egypt are ahead. 70% of Nigeria's population live in rural areas while for Egypt it is slightly above 50%.

Egyptians care little about foreign leagues. Even if they follow foreign leagues it will be to watch their Egyptian players.

No doubt while Nigerian fans were busy marking their nairabet tickets the Egyptian fans were busy voting for Mohammed Salah.

Imagine Moses came a distant 4th. Nigerians no vote at all? What is the population of Gabon(2million) that there own player even finished 3rd.

Another thing is Nigeria does not have many friends on the continent. Expect all Ghana and SA votes to go to Mohammed Salah. And these are two countries with a large internet population. The only votes that would have gone to Moses from there may be those of Nigerians living there.
you are right

From Champions League to Checkatrade Trophy - why has Iheanacho bombed at Leicester?

Dec 13, 2017 10:30:00 Premier League

Signed for £25 million from Manchester City in the summer, the forward has started just two league games this season and could leave in January

At the age of 21, Kelechi Iheanacho has played in excess of 50 Premier League matches, has eight Champions League appearances under his belt, has garnered a £25 million transfer fee and is hopeful of leading the line for his country at this summer’s World Cup.

Why, then, has his only club start since late October come at Glanford Park, the home of Scunthorpe United, in a competition that primarily consists of clubs from England’s third and fourth tiers?

Eyebrows were raised when Leicester City opted to play six genuine first-team players in their recent Checkatrade Trophy victory in north Lincolnshire, no more so than when it was revealed that the Foxes’s primary summer signing would be starting up front.

Though Claude Puel was obviously keen for the Nigeria international to get some football having not appeared for the 2015-16 champions since November 18, Leicester fans have unsurprisingly been asking just why he has not been given more of an opportunity.

“He is a good player and if he improves he will find his place in the squad,” Puel said at the end of November. “We have a lot of players in this position. It is good competition between them and we will need all these players with good qualities and attitude.”

Since making those comments, Iheanacho has played precisely zero minutes in the Premier League, and was even left out of the squad altogether for the recent win against Tottenham.

Puel will rightly point to his side’s results in that period — three victories and a draw — but if Iheanacho cannot force his way in during the busy festive schedule, starting with Wednesday’s clash at Southampton, the question of whether he even has a future at the King Power Stadium must be asked.

A foot injury picked up in pre-season coupled with the good early season form of Shinji Okazaki alongside Jamie Vardy meant opportunities were hard to come by for Iheanacho in the immediate aftermath of his departure from Manchester City. The only hope he had was then-manager Craig Shakespeare’s insistence on playing two strikers as he looked to recapture the magic of the title-winning campaign of two seasons ago.

With Shakespeare now gone, though, Puel has reverted to a 4-2-3-1 system in a bid to allow Riyad Mahrez more freedom as well as bring Demarai Gray into the starting XI - and has picked up immediate results. It is no coincidence Iheanacho — who once upon a time boasted the best minutes-per-goal record of any player to have netted on at least 10 occasions in the Premier League — made his last league start in Shakespeare’s final game in charge.

So how does Iheanacho work himself into Puel’s plans? In just over six months’ time, he will be hoping to be starting his first World Cup match against Croatia ahead of facing down Lionel Messi and Argentina later in the group stage. Odion Ighalo has recently usurped him as the Super Eagles's first-choice striker, and it would be foolhardy for them to believe they can realistically rely on a player who has barely kicked a ball in anger in the months leading into the tournament.

One area where Iheanacho can improve is his adaptability. He was regularly compared to Marcus Rashford when both players were coming through the ranks on either side of the Manchester divide, and it is noticeable how Rashford has been able to maintain a regular place within the United line-up despite the arrivals of Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Undoubtedly a different kind of player from the England forward, Iheanacho can still pick up some lessons in terms of how open Rashford is to attempting to further his game in unfamiliar roles while also learning from the likes of Vardy and Okazaki back at Leicester, particularly when it comes to work-rate.

Puel has commented that the youngster is unable to play out wide, but with Mahrez likely to be the subject of yet more transfer speculation in January, a push from Iheanacho to prove he can help fill the void — either as a winger or a No.10 — might see him earn his chance.

The only other option would be me to move on in the upcoming January transfer window. West Ham were interested in his services during the summer while the likes of Newcastle and West Brom are desperately looking for a genuine goalscorer to help lift themselves away from trouble.

“Time will tell. The window is not open, we will see,” Puel said in the aftermath of Saturday’s win over Newcastle. With the likes of Islam Slimani, Leonardo Ulloa and Ahmed Musa also vying for a place in attack, it seems inevitable at least one will be moved on before the start of February.

What is for certain is that after 17 Premier League matches without a goal and having not played 90 minutes in the league since September 2016, Iheanacho needs to change something. Whether that is his own game or the club he plays for is up for debate, but one of the brightest young strikers in the English game simply cannot spend the remainder of the campaign playing in the Checkatrade Trophy.

It appears that info is inaccurate.

If FIFA sends a list of suspended players before every game then NFF must do a better job to ensure that the information is not just sent to one person. It should be available to everyone.

Catch up on the Nigerian players who scored for their teams in Europe on Tuesday.

Abdul Ajagun was among the goals as KV Kortrijk outclassed visiting team, KAA Gent 4-1 in the Belgian top flight.

The attacking midfielder added his side's third goal of the encounter before providing the assist for KV Kortrijk 's fourth goal scored by Stojanović with 16 minutes left on the clock.

Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu were in action for the visitors, the latter lasting for 70 minutes while the former featured for the entire duration of the game.

Samuel Kalu and Moses Simon, who both started on the bench were thrown into the fray, in the 68th and 72nd minute respectively.

Former Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo helped Crystal Palace U23s beat Cardiff U23s 4-2 in the Professional Development League. The 24-year old attacker struck in the 89th minute to make sure of the points.

In the Emirates FA Cup second round replay, Inih Effiong was on target for Woking in their 5-2 loss to Peterborough United at ABAX Stadium.

The striker opened the scoring for Woking with barely 19 minutes played before the hosts turned the game on its head.
