1. I walk into the kitchen, informing my mum that it looks like I am having an allergic reaction evidenced by the sudden eruptions of rashes on my hands and trunk accompanied with intense itching. Grandma overhears and offers a cream she says would be good for its remedy. I reluctantly collect it. My "doctor" mind strays as I begin a search for the trigger of the allergy, the chemical constituent of the cream and its mechanism of action.
My mother remarks to grandma to keep her cream saying "you know your son is a doctor. he's still looking for what could have caused the rashes before he thinks of treating it."

2. Femi sits in class. His teacher tells him there are 9 planets. He knows this is outdated knowledge because he read via his father's laptop that newer planets (or dwarf planets) are being discovered almost every year. He also knows that the sun does not technically "rise" in the east as his teacher had taught. On the contrary, it's the earth that rotates on its axis. Femi challenges his teacher with this new and updated knowledge of his. His teacher walks him out of the class for insubordination and disturbing the peace of the class. He spends the rest of the day roaming about the corridor. His only crime - He knows too much.

3. I sit at morning devotion with the family. After reading the church's devotional for the day, I have this gut feeling that I had read that day's lesson somewhere in the past. I pick up my phone and google the first words of the devotional and realize that day's devotional had been lifted word-for-word from another devotional published 7 years ago by another denomination entirely. While thousands of others all over the world are getting "blessed" from that morning's lesson, I sit fuming at the crime of plagiarism.

4. When Jesus walked upon the face of the earth, there was a set of people he had running battles with - pharisees and teachers of the law. Ironically, these men were considered the custodians of the matters relating to the scriptures. Yet, they would not recognize Jesus of whom the scriptures point to. The same Jesus was received by common men whose voices must not be heard in the gathering of "knowledge". For the pharisees, their undoing was what they knew.

5. Ben shows up at a police checkpoint. The men ask him to "drop something". He knows this is illegal as the helmsman of the police force had directed that these checkpoints be dismantled. He challenges the men on duty and stands up to them for perpetuating illegalities. Tempers rise. The policemen expect him to beg and pacify them. He sticks to his arguments and asserts his rights. A gun is cocked and the trigger pulled. They call it "an accidental discharge". Ben lies in the morgue.

I once asked my grand dad what he thought was the cause of the current rise in divorce cases and crashed marriages. He said and i quote "Your generation claim you know too much and that is what is killing you people, you do not understand that if you use too much sense in marriage it wouldnt last and for you to have a lasting marriage, you must possess a Phd in nzuzu(mumuness or u can say stupidity). Wisdom is knowing what to say and maturity is knowing when to say it. So you are right.

Knowledge is a curse! D path an ignorant man will thread successfully, u'll take years analysing how u can thread it successfully n u still end up failing or diverting!

Take this example;
I was travelling one nite(overnite trip). I got to a dangerous stretch n stopped to ask in d penultimate village n was told robbers were active. I packed by d roadside n not long after, another car zoomed past! I slept over n didnt see any sign of crime, while passing thru in d morning!

U take forever to make life altering decisions n u see ignorant f*ckers living d dream n damning d consequences!

Ignorance is truly bliss!

Knowledge - intelligence - can never be a curse. However, conceit is a curse; the article simply narrated some acts of conceitedness.
